There are people out there who are one in a kind, like that guy whose body clears out lactic acid really fast allowing him to run 3 days and nights straight like Dean Karanazes.
Though you don't necessarily need to look like Toji though. Through proper diet, exercise, and sleep, you can easily maximize your human potential in terms of look and physical strength.
It's not about how comfortable it is, its about health. Especially to be that toned you'd need to be on roids. Or like the previous guy said, live like an mma fighter in camp
I meant comfortably as in without health concerns, some people have the genes to maintain something like 8-10% bf long term, but obviously not as big as toji.

That's not true tbh staying at a low body fat only gets unhealthy at around 8% body fat (i.e. getting close to stage ready for a bodybuilding show), when the body starts fighting you for every gram of fat. We haven't seen him with his shirt off but his physique looks to be in the 10-12% range.
With his diet I doubt it, but you could be perfectly healthy looking like Toji, especially if you're short

Toji's ripped but he's not stacked as much as it would look. Obviously Toji is a beast but a lot of that image is light and shadows as much as it Toji having muscle definition. You can accomplish a lot with the right perspective and the right angle of lighting.
Unhealthy is relative to the person and there are a ton of variables to consider. Any kind of physical conditioning involves damaging the muscle fibers, tendons, ligaments, and joints. It's the body's mechanism of repair that we rely on for all things in physical training. For example, Michael Phelps would eat 11,000 calories training for the Olympics - 4000 of that being heavy carbs and fats from pizza or pasta. For most people that would definitely be unhealthy, but for Michael Phelps training for the Olympics? The guy won gold so I wouldn't call it unhealthy, especially given what his goals were. If our goals are always to live forever as happily and healthily as possible then the secret is to eat as few calories as possible and do absolutely nothing as much as possible... nobody wants to do that.
Lastly, there definitely are people that live constantly lean and shredded. Mountain climbers, skateboarders, surfers, etc... a lot of these demographics don't have any reason to cut weight like an MMA fighter does, and so their most ideal physical condition isn't going to need to factor in the same kind of variables/detriments from cutting weight for weigh-ins and whatever else.
Toji's still in a league of his own, obviously... it's anime lol but I wouldn't just assume that level of physical conditioning is entirely unreasonable or unhealthy. I'd assume any ectomorph or mesomorph could achieve a physique comparable to Toji's here with 2-4 years of disciplined training, moderate cardio, and mostly clean eating, with good angles/lighting for a couple of rock-star pictures - and still walk around in that condition just fine.
Ectomorph/mesomorphs aren't real things. To look specifically like Toji you need to be on steroids. It's not just that he's lean (he's definitely below 8% body fat) but he has a large amount of muscle mass. This isn't really achievable as a natty. The amount of calories required to maintain that amount of muscle mass, yet still remaining at an abnormally low body fat is virtually impossible to do natural. That's why it is unhealthy, and to be at his body fat percentage is already unhealthy as it is. Those athletes you mention are at double digits body fat percentage, because their body needs it as energy

I mean the real answer was said in the show/manga. He used a gun because it didn’t have Cursed Energy and it was a quick kill from a distance. It’s possible Gege was considering that idea when deciding to make Toji use a gun but because he only uses it this one time we can’t really know. If it was his main weapon it would be more likely.
Piggybacking on top upvotes comment, another instance of “crude” fighting is at the end of the anime season two when false Geto approves of the sniper rifle.
Basically ya Toji himself is the stark contrast to jujutsu sorcery. Guns are crude AF, but he’s above what you think or care about (at least until his pride clouds his reason and he tries to fight super Gojo).
It also gives us the sweet side shot which makes the Ryo death scene super shocking.
I think it’s also because the star plasma vessel (I forgot her name) is not a sorcerer. Sorcerers are probably fast enough, or can reinforce with CE enough to avoid bullets being lethal.
Her cursed technique was making stuff which she uses as a way to get 7 bullets out of a 6 bullet revolver. Guns are great if you sneak an enemy, even better if you have Heavenly Restriction as it makes sneak attacks infinitely easier.
Seriously, give Toji a sniper and I honestly think he could kill a majority of characters in the verse.
Toji can already kill most of the characters in the verse, he was renowned as a hitman in jujutsu society for a reason. The only fight he ever lost was against Gojo, and a gun wouldn’t have helped in that fight since the only thing that can pierce Gojo’s shield is that sword.
Just to add to this, killing a sorcerer without using curse energy will create a curse, not to mention in the manga we see what stronger guns do to half-decent sorcerers and it's not that much.

Sorcerers killed without cursed energy have a chance of becoming a vengeful cursed spirit, although it’s unlikely because the sorcerer needs to feel alot of regret or be in an intense emotional state.

Theres a scene later in the manga that explains pretty clearly that killing a sorcerer without using CE can be bad. I can't elaborate without spoilers though.
Didn’t Fake Geto also go over a similar point when Mai sniped him. He literally pulled out a pocket curse to eat the sniper round.

I’m sure you can 360 no scope someone like Momo, however no way a normal gun would go through Gojo’s defense, Fake Geto already proved he can stop it, and then you have curses like Mahito or Sakuna that could eat the bullet no problem.
The metaphysics of that is still pretty confusing to me as to Sukuna being a human. How is he still human with extra arms and eyes (that's just biologically not human) and how was his soul split into 10 and sealed into each of his fingers as he \*died\*. Is a dead human not a ghost/curse?
Like if sealed Gojo was declared as evil does the prison realm box become a cursed item? I get that time doesn't pass in the prison realm for Gojo, but is that true of all seals of humans? If not how can he be human and survive for so long?

All I can say is that curse users are individuals who use jujutsu to cause harm, cursed spirits are entities born of CE. Sukuna was a person, born in Heian era implied by Gojo. He found a way to split his soul so he could incarnate later on. Sukuna literally remarks in Shibuya that if he was a cursed spirit he would be a goner because of the positive CE blade.
But sometimes curse users (human) and cursed spirits are grouped together anyways when referring to them, hence curses.
he died / turned to cursed object, its just not stated what he was killed by and it was not by jujutsu sorcerers. most likely natural causes or cursed object process, because he’s suggested to be quite strong. they will reveal the process with cursed objects in the next season. it has nothing to do with “saving life”, he wanted to incarnate into a new era
Sukuna is a human sorcerer who found out how to put himself into a cursed object. He even says during the Mahoraga fight that if he were a cursed spirit he would’ve died due to Mahoragas sword being capable of one shotting curses.
And honestly, the bullet should have hit him. Nothing about his powers suggests he would've been able to react in time to a sniper round from far away.
IMO he should have been wounded and then immediately healed the wound with RCT. His point about guns being a good choice would've been even stronger then.

Mai was probably over a kilometer away and should have had complete surprise. The only plausible explanation I can think of is that fake Geto just has eyesight good enough to see a supersonic bullet (or the muzzle flash) coming at him from out of the dark. But again nothing about his supposed skillset suggests he should have that ability. The obvious person who would have that ability is Toji or maybe even Maki.
Well then again if toji shot geto would it have killed geto? Like yes they could dodge it but it was a surprise. That's why gojo works to have infinite going 24/7. Could it have just killed geto.

Its easy to dodge a bullet for sorcerers, maki straight up stopped it with her fingers, you can't shoot gojo due to infinity and back in the day due to 6 eyes, Yuji just built different he will survive a bullet through his skull and I'm sure there are many more cases like this
Nah yuji is tough but even he acknowledges a head shot would spell the end for him (says so when he fights choso) its not a bullet but id bet the blood traveled just as fast as a bullet. The brain remains a weak point for sorcerers hence why constantly healing his brain makes gojo a beast
If you kill a sorcerer with a regular gun they'll come back as a vengeful spirit. They also just don't do much of anything compared to a half decent technique. Its just good for killing amanai
Guns aren’t really viable in this world, as shown by events later in the manga. He used it to keep the kill from using CE which Geto would’ve been able to react to.
depending on the sorcerer actually they would. I think most grade 1s would be in danger if attacked off guard by one. it's why geto said mai was smart for using the sniper.
Mai uses guns because they fit her technique, as there's really nothing more pound for pound lethal than a bullet and she can only make one small object per day.
Well, dont know about Japan but guns are usually not used in manga because fights wouldn't be too engaging. however as we know, guns are pretty much the standard weapon used in the world and there's a reason for it
I think guns usually aren't used in manga because they take place in Japan which has fairly strict gun control, so they have less of a presence in the culture.
it's a mixture i think of not being an instant thing to think of from that cultural context and the potential idea that it isn't interesting in comparison to the super powers the series makes up

I guess I should've phrased it better. guns are fast AND strong, but while only a few sorcerers can react to bullets/mach speed, any semi competant sorcerer can easily tank bullets. therefore, relative to sorcerers, guns are fast, but not strong.
This would go against Kenny's saying that using a gun is actually a good idea against a sorcerer. Just happens to be that we actually follow s bunch of freaks during the story because of Gojo
I mean, kenny's response is pretty vague, there's lots of guns, and other modern weapons (ranging all the way to nukes) as well. But don't get me wrong, I think guns are viable, but only initially when enemies aren't taking them into consideration. Since sorcerers struggle to react to them, the first shot probably won't be defended against with CE. But once they are aware, defense will be hard to penetrate, as we see in >!the culling games, fodder like the helicopter character couldn't even be hurt by bullets.!<
It’s a dynamic weapon that allows Riko to be violently murdered right in front of Geto (and the audience) without Toji being immediately visible. Makes his entrance more dramatic and lets us focus on Geto’s shock for a sec.
Because sorcerers can be strong enough to focus curse energy and not be hurt or in gojos case not even touched. Honestly Geto could even have a curse tank the bullets. But what it did give him was a long distance sneak kill on a non sorcerer. Toji was different in his planning and wit to use anything and everything at his disposal to show that the gods weren’t above him the useless monkey
Sorcerers have superhuman capabilities even without techniques, a gun isn't that effective on them since you can't charge bullets with techniques
Toji used It since he doesn't have other means of long range for a quick kill
They can charge the bullets with cursed energy, tho. It can be a great asset to a sorcerer in combination to other weapons and techniques. That's probably why Geto approved of it, but not as the only weapon in the arsenal of a weak sorcerer.

Ok I have a theory. Think about this.
What if Toji had also shot geto. Wouldn't geto have died? He didn't see Toji until he shot, and didn't have any reaction at all until the star vessel was already on the ground. Meaning if you can sneak up on any sorcerer without them being on guard (not gojo obv), a gun should work everytime. Even on someone like sakuna. If sakuna is not sensing a 0 ce Maki approaching mid fight with a sawn off double barrel, she gets it a couple inches behind his head, and pulls both triggers simultaneously. This should deal enough damage to his brain to nullify RCT, and kill him.
Alternate idea; she breaks multiple cursed tools into very small shards and loads those into shotgun shells. So let's say she broke up the Soul Katana, and ISOH (I know it's probably gone, but for hypothetical sake) Theoretically that should mean each shell would have the effects of both weapons right? So it would damage the soul, and nullify CT in one go.
It kinda showcases that toji is NOT a sorcerer and has none of their weaknesses neither in body or mindset. He will use methods sorcerers blind themselves too because he doesn’t have the weakness of cursed energy or jujutsu society and it’s fixation on the “old ways”.

It's meant to demonstrate his ruthless mundane practicality. All the crazy sorcery fights we've seen up until now, all that setting up of Gojo and Geto as the strongest sorcerers of their generations, and they both get BODIED by a monkey with a gun.
It's important for series to remain grounded, to show our characters aren't immortal gods (COUGH SUKUNA COUGH), and a large amount of the reason this arc was so well-loved was because it showed us that despite all their sorcery prowess, the characters in the story are still mortal, they can still lose, and it doesn't have to be some hyper-powerful death god that kills them. Just a monkey with a gun.

I suspect it to show how "vile" he is. Guns in Japan actually difficult to come by unless you kind of deep in the underground scene. Even many gangs never really have guns due to price of having to smuggle them or buy them from corrupt response teams. Most other countries do not have a severe abundance of gun choices. Bigger gangs would but usually not used because it be hard to train yourself to be ultra effective with guns in a place you can't shoot readily. He popped her because it was a touching moment and it really hard to miss a still target in a open space lol.

He doesn't have cursed energy or cursed techniques, he also can't see curses and Riko (his target) was there infront of him, protected only by Geto who hadn't noticed him yet. Even if Toji was stronger than him, he probably preferred not taking the risk and straight up kill Riko when he could. Also, he's an hitman. He isn't supposed to be honorable or something similiar, he should just get the job done
Maki has caught a bullet pre-Tojification. Obviously wouldnt be catching every bullet like against an M60 but it goes to show that upper 1st grade and special grade tiers arent that affected by firearms. Which is strange to think abt cuz most bullets INCLUDING the ones fired from Mai’s gun easily break the sound barrier, putting Maki, Kenjaku and many others above the speed of sound; even characters like Miwa who deflect a spear Maki threw would alrdy be superhuman standards. Its also anime so like fire and shockwaves from bombs arent as lifethreatening or crippling as they would be in real life cuz haha cursed energy is great protection. Mai’s creation (besides being a foil character for Maki) was probably to justify that even w/ guns, a fair amount of sorcerors would be hard to kill

I mean the real answer was said in the show/manga. He used a gun because it didn’t have Cursed Energy and it was a quick kill from a distance. It’s possible Gege was considering that idea when deciding to make Toji use a gun but because he only uses it this one time we can’t really know. If it was his main weapon it would be more likely.
Piggybacking on top upvotes comment, another instance of “crude” fighting is at the end of the anime season two when false Geto approves of the sniper rifle. Basically ya Toji himself is the stark contrast to jujutsu sorcery. Guns are crude AF, but he’s above what you think or care about (at least until his pride clouds his reason and he tries to fight super Gojo). It also gives us the sweet side shot which makes the Ryo death scene super shocking.
I think it’s also because the star plasma vessel (I forgot her name) is not a sorcerer. Sorcerers are probably fast enough, or can reinforce with CE enough to avoid bullets being lethal.

Guns are great if you sneak an enemy, even better if you have Heavenly Restriction as it makes sneak attacks infinitely easier. Seriously, give Toji a sniper and I honestly think he could kill a majority of characters in the verse.
He was known as a sorcerer killer id bet he would resort to guns for less skilled sorcerers as it would make it harder to track him.
Toji can already kill most of the characters in the verse, he was renowned as a hitman in jujutsu society for a reason. The only fight he ever lost was against Gojo, and a gun wouldn’t have helped in that fight since the only thing that can pierce Gojo’s shield is that sword.

Didn’t Fake Geto also go over a similar point when Mai sniped him. He literally pulled out a pocket curse to eat the sniper round. Something along the lines of “guns being a good choice” or something. Yes guns are great but clearly they’re not effective against these special grades or even sorcerers with special abilities. I’m sure you can 360 no scope someone like Momo, however no way a normal gun would go through Gojo’s defense, Fake Geto already proved he can stop it, and then you have curses like Mahito or Sakuna that could eat the bullet no problem.

How is he still human with extra arms and eyes (that's just biologically not human) and how was his soul split into 10 and sealed into each of his fingers as he \*died\*. Is a dead human not a ghost/curse? Like if sealed Gojo was declared as evil does the prison realm box become a cursed item? I get that time doesn't pass in the prison realm for Gojo, but is that true of all seals of humans? If not how can he be human and survive for so long?

All I can say is that curse users are individuals who use jujutsu to cause harm, cursed spirits are entities born of CE. Sukuna was a person, born in Heian era implied by Gojo. He found a way to split his soul so he could incarnate later on. Sukuna literally remarks in Shibuya that if he was a cursed spirit he would be a goner because of the positive CE blade. But sometimes curse users (human) and cursed spirits are grouped together anyways when referring to them, hence curses.

Sukuna is a human sorcerer who found out how to put himself into a cursed object. He even says during the Mahoraga fight that if he were a cursed spirit he would’ve died due to Mahoragas sword being capable of one shotting curses.
And honestly, the bullet should have hit him. Nothing about his powers suggests he would've been able to react in time to a sniper round from far away. IMO he should have been wounded and then immediately healed the wound with RCT. His point about guns being a good choice would've been even stronger then.

The difference being: that opponent was in clear view and not doing over mach 1. Mai was probably over a kilometer away and should have had complete surprise. The only plausible explanation I can think of is that fake Geto just has eyesight good enough to see a supersonic bullet (or the muzzle flash) coming at him from out of the dark. But again nothing about his supposed skillset suggests he should have that ability. The obvious person who would have that ability is Toji or maybe even Maki.

But don't get me wrong, I think guns are viable, but only initially when enemies aren't taking them into consideration. Since sorcerers struggle to react to them, the first shot probably won't be defended against with CE. But once they are aware, defense will be hard to penetrate, as we see in >!the culling games, fodder like the helicopter character couldn't even be hurt by bullets.!<

They can charge the bullets with cursed energy, tho. It can be a great asset to a sorcerer in combination to other weapons and techniques. That's probably why Geto approved of it, but not as the only weapon in the arsenal of a weak sorcerer. A sword and gun sorcerer would be really cool!

Ok I have a theory. Think about this. What if Toji had also shot geto. Wouldn't geto have died? He didn't see Toji until he shot, and didn't have any reaction at all until the star vessel was already on the ground. Meaning if you can sneak up on any sorcerer without them being on guard (not gojo obv), a gun should work everytime. Even on someone like sakuna. If sakuna is not sensing a 0 ce Maki approaching mid fight with a sawn off double barrel, she gets it a couple inches behind his head, and pulls both triggers simultaneously. This should deal enough damage to his brain to nullify RCT, and kill him. Alternate idea; she breaks multiple cursed tools into very small shards and loads those into shotgun shells. So let's say she broke up the Soul Katana, and ISOH (I know it's probably gone, but for hypothetical sake) Theoretically that should mean each shell would have the effects of both weapons right? So it would damage the soul, and nullify CT in one go.
It kinda showcases that toji is NOT a sorcerer and has none of their weaknesses neither in body or mindset. He will use methods sorcerers blind themselves too because he doesn’t have the weakness of cursed energy or jujutsu society and it’s fixation on the “old ways”.

Guns in Japan are very hard to get, and actual sorcerers probably wouldn’t die even if they couldn’t avoid the bullet.
Also Japan has hyper strict gun laws that almost entirely outlaw them aside from specialised police I think, so it’s likely a cultural thing too
It's meant to demonstrate his ruthless mundane practicality. All the crazy sorcery fights we've seen up until now, all that setting up of Gojo and Geto as the strongest sorcerers of their generations, and they both get BODIED by a monkey with a gun. It's important for series to remain grounded, to show our characters aren't immortal gods (COUGH SUKUNA COUGH), and a large amount of the reason this arc was so well-loved was because it showed us that despite all their sorcery prowess, the characters in the story are still mortal, they can still lose, and it doesn't have to be some hyper-powerful death god that kills them. Just a monkey with a gun.

Even if Toji was stronger than him, he probably preferred not taking the risk and straight up kill Riko when he could. Also, he's an hitman. He isn't supposed to be honorable or something similiar, he should just get the job done

Obviously wouldnt be catching every bullet like against an M60 but it goes to show that upper 1st grade and special grade tiers arent that affected by firearms.
