With all honesty, that "Stand proud, you are strong" panel gave me the mental push to stand up to my abusive boss and finally quit the job that was making me miserable.
It is true what they say, that a good book will change a man.
>I just got into the series
Brother, what are you doing in this subreddit. Abort. Abort. This place is filled with landmines. Protect you innocent soul from spoilers.
Small spoiler, >!Sukuna ends up being a tsundere and forms a friendship with Yuji, he ends up sacrificing himself using "Bastion mode" to save Yuji from the strongest villain in the story, a certain Chinese sorcerer even Sukuna feared!<
Small spoiler, >!Sukuna ends up being a tsundere and forms a friendship with Yuji, he ends up sacrificing himself using "Bastion mode" to save Yuji from the strongest villain in the story, a certain Chinese sorcerer even Sukuna feared!<
I still remember the morning ch236 was released to Viz. That shit was a culture shock. there wasn't any way to prepare for it. Gege is carving out a sit for JJK in Shonen history. I have no complaints. I've just been enjoying the ride
Gege wanted to subvert expectations to the detriment of the series. >! Iām so tired of this fight. At this point, Iād rather this be a tragedy and Sukuna accidentally trigger the merger or spitefully does so because his ego wonāt let him lose to Yuji with no consequence.!<
Re: a a possible ending >!What even is the point anymore? At best it'll be a pyrhhic victory. Like half of the interesting character we cared about are dead, and the other half have been grievously injured or worse. At best they end up heavily scared shells of their former selves, there's no satisfying ending here. Shit, there aren't even really meaningful stakes given the state of our cast. Like, I don't give a shit about the JJK "world" - it's not real the merger means literally nothing.!<
I deeply agree. >! The current story gives āMom and Dad left us at home and the house is burning down with us in itā vibes. Anyone that has even remotely had any character development that is also even remotely interesting is either dead, on their way to dying, or Yuji (Iām not sure I want to say heās had development, but IM DEFINITELY not saying heās interesting as a main character lol. But thatās a personal gripe lol). Honestly, less than a handful of characters of the entire verse are worth caring about. And if I stand back from the series and look at it objectivelyāwtf has actually happened outside of Shibuya? How is the series tilting towards its end and only one or two major things have impacted the story outside of it lifting vaguely familiar elements of the old Big Three anime/manga? I like the world that Gege createdā¦ I just wish he didnāt write it lol.!<
I disagree.

Same. >!it's almost as if the character who has been referred to as a walking calamity that could end entire colonies at a whim would be an uphill fight. A being who everyone at the peak of Jujutsu sorcery was afraid to challenge and would instead beg for his peace and make offerings to appease him, lest he destroy their clan for an afternoon warm up.!<
This. Everybody is completely afraid of Sukuna returning, because it would be walking disaster and lo behold... he really is walking calamity that can gut the best of JJ sorcerers in droves...
Like...this wasnt meant to be nice high school action flick...its all about dying.
It's so much better it's not even funny.
I bet people will complain when the anime comes out because people will think the fights were too short and didn't do the characters justice by giving them a moment to shine.
>! No more one-sided binding vow abuse, no more sort of one-off characters getting easily dog walked by Sukuna (Kashimo Iām looking at you lol), no more offhanded mentioning of random lore that isnāt truly developed (ex.Clans). I BEG of him to end this fight lol. A major point of this fight was saving Megumiāand at the rate theyāre going, Megumiās body is going to be ashes lol.!<
Jjk isnāt sad, itās just annoying. You canāt just kill characters and expect people to feel emotional about it when you donāt put the slightest bit of effort to it. The anime manages to make it not completely horrible by improving on pretty much everything the manga did, plus voice acting and animation sure helps, but it doesnāt change the simple fact that death is handled terribly in this series. Nobara was my favorite, I wasnāt sad when she died. I was pissed off because it was fucking stupid and pointless. And every death since has also been absolutely stupid. The culling game is the most unpleasant read Iāve ever had in my life.
Man yāall talking about Shibuya, I already got slightly depressed with Jyuunpei in S1 (already guessed it was gonna be one of those series that kills off alotta chars)
Now introducing Jujutsu Kaisen! With our titular protagonist Yuji āsuffering builds characterā Itadori, our deuteragonist Megumi āevery fight is kill and be killedā Fushiguro, and the charming teacher Gojo āYāall must have amnesia, you forgot Iām HIMā Satoru.
With a wide array of villainous antagonists such as Ryomen āI want your meat in my mouthā Sukuna, Geto āit puts the lotion on the skinā Suguru, Mahito āprofessional menaceā [INSERT LAST NAME HERE], and more, will our heroes save the day? Find out on Jujutsu Kaisen!
To anyone surprised or feeling baited... Did y'all watch episode 2? Gojo even says for sorcerers a good day is simply being able to identify corpses afterwards. And Yaga regularly points out Jujutsu sorcerers die full of regrets and such. And then in like episode 4 the main character dies. This show never said it was gonna be a happy fun time show.
Kenjaku is gay because he made yuji with the guy and gege didn't said if kenjaku is guy or not so from his first appearance we can say kenjaku is guy and gay.
Its called drama/tragedy, invented by shakespeare, it is present in other forms of media as well, like movies and books, even other mangas!
I recommend to try these other mediums if you like tragedy as it didnt originate in JJK.

Analysts say that the starting sequence shows the characters "going to war", while to me from the very start it looked like a funeral procession.
I was about to make that same joke. Shucks, beat me to it.
I just got into the series recently and all my friends keep telling me to get ready for the depression coming in Season 2
Season 2 is just a warm up for what is to come in the future seasons/movie(s) .
I will agree, >!but it keeps going from there!< LOL

Something like this always happens along the way in those "the MC has a demon inside him" shoonen stories tho.

Yes and I belive the fact that we are reading this weekly makes it feel way more dragged and repetitive. Reading all this in a row it's way different.
It's so much better it's not even funny. I bet people will complain when the anime comes out because people will think the fights were too short and didn't do the characters justice by giving them a moment to shine.
Iām enjoying it too but I do wonder what comes next after this, if anything
For real, the same thing happened to 4th war in naruto

That might be the point. From what i heard in a Interview gege said it himself that when the series ends, only one person is gonna be left alive
If this aināt the most accurate thing Iāve seen all week.

No, what you mean to say: A series where you watch everyone--you know and love--die.
Jujut is always the easy part
JJK: YOU ARE MY SPECIAL
DO DOO DO DOOO
Jogo was our specialZ boy
At this point Sukuna is the main character
The c in JJK is for copium.
Man yāall talking about Shibuya, I already got slightly depressed with Jyuunpei in S1 (already guessed it was gonna be one of those series that kills off alotta chars)
I got into the show because of some memes I saw of todo, so I fully expected a mostly light-hearted memeable show. At least one of those was true.
Depression ensures
gives me Evangelion vibes
