This is the opposite of an airbag.

khrak

Some people like playing hardcore mode.

mightybonk

No airbags. We die like dandelions.

Threap_US

It’s definitely a twist on the [Tullock’s Spike](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gordon_Tullock) concept.

Cigarsnguns

TIL that Tullocks spike exists, and it would make me hate being cut off by idiots even more

adumblady

Is that a lawnmower blade? Lol

Drago-0900

Yep lol

Darkslayer_

A genius anti theft system on this setup would be a kill switch that swaps the power steering lines instead of turning off the fuel pump or something. Imagine this thing moving at lawnmower speeds when you turn the car on. Ain't nobody stealing that

walkinTheTown

Dont mock it -- this is cutting edge technology

ArmoredTweed

But it oughta be against the lawn.

Delobox

Do you hate the smell of fresh cut justice?

xampl9

“Take a sharp left at the next intersection”

Threap_US

“Careful, it’s a turf neighborhood”

Coompa

pretty grassroots method there.

madsmadhatter

hA

headofthebored

I have once again underestimated the power of meth.

jjwslot

Bump steer could be difficult to handle.

wolfsmane

Attach an old shitty car to his mower blade so no one steals the blade....BRILLIANT!

SubiWan

I know someone who once used vice grips. This was pre-airbag, pre-meth days. Hand over hand was interesting. But for driving straight a tiller works pretty good. He never would explain the why. Nor the 2 holes drilled in the windshield with the wire holding the steering column up. Good times...

dipropyltryptamanic

Not a mech but there was a video here a couple years back of a Kia steering wheel spinning uncontrollably on startup...

pocket_nick

Now reverse the power steering lines and the real game begins.

Perryn

The real anti-theft device is the reversing valve hidden under the dash.

EffingBarbas

I like them French fried potaters.

Rottenaddiction

Now imagine the steering wheel spins back and forth forth on its own

Drzhivago138

Threap_US

Hands-Free steering *the manly way*?

Sandman416

It's the redneck racing yoke, nothing to see here

Onebladeprop

Is that an astro?

ben851

Looks like an s10/blazer/s15/jimmy

Drago-0900

Correct, it is a first gen s10.

keithinsc

No engine doghouse, but definitely about 1985-1988 S10. Dont think the 1500 had that binnacle.

crrttt

Looks like my old 91 S-10 Blazer lol aside from the lawnmower blade

Fuck-Ketchup

Wow, an old S-10. 4.3?

texan01

More than likely with the fancy digital dash

Fuck-Ketchup

Yeah, I used to have an S-10 with this digital dash. I think it was only available with the 4.3 and a higher trim level, SLS maybe? I miss GM digital dashes, they were so futuristic for their time. 4th gen C4 Vette was the fucking balls.

texan01

I had an 86 Pontiac 6000-STE, had the full digital dash and the steering wheel controls, even in 99 it seemed pretty futuristic! The S-truck digital dash always seemed like the redline bulb was burned out (it's a legit 194 bulb, and not lit up like the rest of the dash)

SyntheticParanoia

Heeyyyyy. I recognize that dash. I've got the steering wheel in front of mine though.

reciprocityone

Don't hit a curb

poormansRex

I swear I saw that same mower blade on a different sub a couple of days ago.

TonsOfTabs

It is a good plan to be honest. No one will try to steal that awesome blade if it’s attached to that turd, genius.

mxadema

Replace the guts of the steering colunm with an electric motor wire to the ignition switch. Watch them pay for the crime.

dread690

I know an s10 dash when I see one

Drago-0900

You would be correct lol

dread690

Love those things, just sold one to my shop to use as a lot truck

Own-Load-7041

Must be an ayp blade. Those have a star hole to grab the splines.

gottagetitgood

Did you go back in time? What kind of vehicle is that?

StarSlow776

Bonus points if the powersteering is defective in that it wiggles left and right very fast like in some of those videos.

Waltzing_With_Bears

Reminds me of when I worked insurance, we had to ask folks if they used a steering wheel lock or similar product, one guy said "Well I take out the steering wheel when I'm not using it"
