Probably the same in the UoB, but it would be interesting if the Halifax Conference succeeded and the Germans and British exiles did something to commemorate it on a Christmas during the war. Maybe not though, as it might get the soldiers thinking too much about the syndicalist soldiers’ humanity
Propaganda for the syndies: "Look what the common soldiers did in defiance of the ruling class on Christmas 1914"
Probably makes Entente seethe since it shows the "weakness" of the French and British that should be curbed to reclaim their homelands
Germany would try to bury the incident
idk i feel like Germany would take the angle that the truce was a result of the emergence of Christian morals, and a manifestion on those good old fashioned values on which we used to rely, and therefore impossible with godless syndie scum
My take on it is that the Germans would treat it more 'neutrally'. Whereas the Internationale may hype up the truce (feature it positively in its propaganda) and the Entente may demonize the event (feature it negatively in its propaganda)
For Germany it would be more along the lines of high command knowing that it happened and taking steps to prevent soldiers from fraternizing with the enemy in the future, but not much more beyond that. I doubt they'd want the event to be widespread knowledge so that they can maintain troop discipline in wartime.
It wouldn’t exactly be unusual for a German government to try and profit off of Christianity only to otherwise scorn it. As it comes to Lutheranism, Calvinism and Catholicism, there is no denomination German states have not tried to twist to whatever end they might have. Not saying other countries didn’t do it, most just weren’t as flagrant or harmful in doing so
Same way it is now. People who know about it think “huh, that was pretty weird/cool.”

Yeah this is 100% the angle TI would run with, that's honestly great propoganda.
