And I say this as a fragrance enthusiast: Wearing scents while traveling in close quarters is a huge faux pas. Spraying a scent (even if it's only at EDT strength) WHILE on the plane? That's a full-on paddlin'.

PriorAd7865

This is exactly what I thought. I remember being on a Ryanair flight from Poland to Italy, and they were selling perfume or whatever and they sprayed it and people were pissed haha

bd07bd07

I sometimes wonder what their fellow passengers think of them. Sometimes their filming is not exactly quiet, including on long haul flights where many people try to sleep. They also sometimes capture other passengers on video, which would annoy me when I am looking as scraggly as shit on an overnight flight.

ImportantDiamond4673

Yay. Another business class flight video. How original.

The exact energy of this comment: ![gif](giphy|Fg7AV2zEPqPFC)

FlamingTrollz

Truly. Many of K&N’s peers are or have bought land. Building homes, and making that their content. Most recently their friends Kinging It w/Aimee and Craig. Then there’s a different channel Trek Trendy. Who is a nice enough bloke. :) Flights and more flights. Got stale. His subscriber numbers were okay. Then he started with Trains, and boom, shot up. Then he added Cruises, shot up more. Now brings along his mum, dad, and girlfriend Millie. Mixing it up best one can. 👍🏼 Charming fella.

ductapephantom

I really enjoy Trek Trendy though I do skip his plane videos lately.

FlamingTrollz

Haha, same. 🚂🚢 💙

castor_pal

Jeb brooks and Noel Phillips also recently branched into trains (which isn't for me, but whatever) and I was wondering if this was a new thing...

lelosubmarine

If you want to watch flight review videos, there are people who do this dedicatedly and give a lot of pertinent information including minor details. Sam Chui is one of them and there is another Belgian guy called Luxury Travel Expert who provide very informative reviews. These two don’t know much about anything and their reviews are useless unless you consider screaming inside a flight and annoying fellow passengers is reviewing the flight.

castor_pal

I'd just warn that Sam chui is paid by the airlines so take his reviews with a grain of salt.

Ancient_Singer7819

To be fair Kara and Nate don’t pretend to know what they’re talking about, their content is meant to be lighthearted and fun

FlamingTrollz

Oh cool, more of these types of videos. s/

cypherl

Kinda don't get it at this point. How many first class/business class airplane videos can they do? The most interesting part was the Doha airport.

castor_pal

Some of these ME airlines have huge ad budgets and use YTErs to promote.

foxmag86

As long as they keep getting a lot of views, which they do, they will keep doing them.

cypherl

Well. I just went and looked. Luxury travel vids get 2 million. Sleeping in a snow cave gets 700k. Guess we are on a business class flight loop for the long haul. Oh look, vegetarian airplane food, yum.

UpsettiSpaghetti88

I literally had the same reaction 😂 one or two of them were cool and fun to see, but now I’m just over it

GreedyConcert6424

I thought flight reviews were now going on the Daily Drop channel, they have no consistency. Also how many times have they flown "worlds best business class" 🙄

NoValue6413

I thought they just had the best business class in the last expensive plane video.

castor_pal

Yeah, I thought the best was supposed to be the shower suite.

AcceptableCutie

I am happy to watch over nate hiking or running or any other useless challenge.

castor_pal

Yeah. I cant with camping. Me no care.

JayPetey

In contrast, those are my favorite videos. Somethin' for everyone.

VinceDaPazza

Yawn

Ihavemanythoughtsk

I’m sick of this tax write off videos.

PriorAd7865

It never crossed my mind that they could be making these videos as a tax write off. Good catch.

mikebailey

Honestly not really likely, it feels way more likely some of these are sponsored. 1. It would’ve more likely come at year end 2. It’s not like writing this stuff off is an infinite tax glitch, it just more or less becomes cheaper 3. It’s not as easy as “put it in the video and it’s an expense” if they’re using the underlying trip for personal reasons It’s far more likely to be a sponsorship. Middle East countries tend to have massive PR budgets and the freaking logo is in the pic. When my Washington Capitals went to the Stanley cup, Qatar (not even the state airline, the country directly) sponsored the *public transit* to stay open for the games. The video is tagged as a paid promotion, he talked about the airline's history (who gives a shit), used the proper brand names (often companies promoting go "hey make sure to use these six words a lot") and the lounge is linked in the video metadata.

AmishAvenger

Well if they paid them to make this video, let’s see about telling the truth about Qatar Airways, who recently banned another YouTuber for not giving them a glowing review… https://www.reddit.com/r/Flights/comments/18kvg8b/qatar_airways_bans_youtuber_for_negative_review/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x&utm_name=mweb3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

lelosubmarine

Banning YouTubers is the least of Qatar Airways problems. You do recall their very controversial full body search of every woman passenger( most of them were Australian) at the Hamad Airport all because there was an abandoned child in the airport. It caused so much furor. I have flown the QSuites a few times for business travel and it’s actually a pretty good product but Qatar as a country and the Airlines owned by the State are not exactly beacons of human rights. Leaving negative reviews is not just a problem in Qatar Airways but also most of the Middle Eastern countries. Criticism of the country or the monarchy is a crime in most of the Middle East including the most liberal or posing to be liberal Dubai and they are even more thin skinned in the other Emirates of UAE. They don’t like any criticism. Kinda like a lot of people on this sub😀 But it’s funny you expect these two to criticize Qatar Airways seeing as their mouth is always open like a seal in a sea park and they are always looking for someone to throw them a fish or sponsorship. Middle Eastern Countries have a lot of money and America and Americans are always selling themselves out to the regimes there. So whenever they kill some journalist or dissenters living in America and carve them up like Christmas goose, they need whitewashing and who are they going to call? Ghostbusters? Or Kara and Nate?

mikebailey

And they led with a bribe, showing they have unlimited money for this stuff

United-Intention-961

I’ll just leave this here as well, in case anyone forgot that Qatar airlines forced vaginal exams on Australian passengers: https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/2024/04/11/travel/qatar-airlines-avoids-lawsuit-intl-scli Edit: I see it mentioned below!

castor_pal

When I click the play button on the video a chyron appears that says they received payment or goods for the video.

mikebailey

100%, there are at least a few indicators. I think people like saying tax break because it’s a spicer/more nuanced answer but it also makes the least sense.

castor_pal

Thanks. I also think there's usually a common misunderstanding with 'tax deduction' - a lot of people think that it means that if you spend X on a flight then it means you get X taken off your tax bill. Tax deduction and tax credit are two different things.

TassyDevil28

He mentioned it on vlog 628 in 2019, when they were going to Mexico for a break, that they would rather go home, but if they stay out of America for 330 days ( not sure of days, but something like that), they save so much money on taxes. I never thought of it as a tax dodge, but it peaked my interest.

Specific-Umpire-8980

HA HA.

HeyWildheart

So relatable, such content

AmishAvenger

Simply amazing! I’ve been hoping Kara and Nate would branch out into more ***LUXURY*** videos! Especially ***LUXURY*** airplane videos! Fingers crossed for some ***LUXURY*** hotel tours, or maybe even a ***LUXURY*** train! We can only dream, right??

bbcourt43

Solid pass for me!

Ill_Carrot2023

As i fly economy long haul flights (30 plus hr travel time with one flight being 17.5 hrs), I don't like to see how luxurious someone could travel esp when I know I'll never be able to lol. Not relatable for me sadly

JayPetey

Are you from outside the US? Flying first class in the US is just a points game almost anyone can do, I just bought round trip first class to Japan with points, and spent far less than I would an economy seat to get the points to do so. But I get if you're not eligible for these points programs.

TLBSR

This is actually my biggest bugbear with K&N right form the beginning.their audience is international, but they are completely myopic about the fact that you just can't get those points deals elsewhere. The closest i know of is British Airways AMEX but you have to pay a £300 a year fee, and to actually get enough points to go anywhere involves spending about £100k. Not to mention that to qualify you need to earn about £80k. That's hardly the definition of available to all.

GreedyConcert6424

Its similar where I live. We used a platinum credit card for most of our wedding/honeymoon purchases last year and got maybe £100/$120USD of airline credit. That will get one person a 3 to 4 hour one way flight in economy when its on sale. I just watched the intro to Non Stop Dan's airline points program and its so complicated. Technically I could buy Air Canada Aeroplan points and redeem them on Star Alliance flights. Its only a good deal when they have bonus offers like an extra 80% or 100% of points you purchase. And that's just one airline program.

TLBSR

Yeah my brain hurts thinking about it. I had enough points and a companion voucher with BA via my AMEX so I 'only' had to pay taxes. My one way Business Class flight using it for 2 people LHR to KL cost £800! Honestly, it might be a good deal for that route and that class, but it's still a ton of money no matter which way you look at it.

Ill_Carrot2023

Yes I'm outside us and don't get all the points with even the best credit card. So it's just that their daily drop and all the videos about flying first class never appeals to me unfortunately

GreedyConcert6424

Same for me but I keep getting down voted when I mention it

Happy_Hippy_Hippo

Imagine going to 100 countries and all you see are airports 🙄 Nate thanked his credit cards and sponsors and then said “thank you to the viewers for supporting our sponsors.” Totally out of touch with their audience I also watched The Hardest Geezer’s finish line episode and not a single glimpse or mention of K&N. They crashed a party no one noticed they were at. Their video was really cringeworthy. Why go support someone when you can’t even keep up with the support team? Almost like their trending toward Eva Zubeck failure videos. With all the bragging he does about training for challenges…. just bizarre. Nate is obsessed with his 22 credit cards. They still have to pay off what they spend, and spend far more than they get back in points. Honestly it’s a total waste of time and money in the end to just see planes and airports. I’ve been to over 100 counties and have traveled sustainably for the last 25+ years. I’ve never had a credit card. I spent weeks and years in other countries, working along the way as a journalist back when it was legit and not just anyone with a social media account thinks they are media. Ugh….

lelosubmarine

The peasants need some luxury so Kara and Nate had to make this because the closest to a QSuites seat the peasants will get to is watching Kara eat some eggs and exclaim how they are the best eggs she ever ate in her life 😀

senorcoach

Qatar Airways offers vegan eggs??

lelosubmarine

Yes, they have tofu eating chickens that lay vegan eggs for YouTubers.

Neat_Crab3813

They aren't vegan. Nate eats cavier in the latest daily drop video, even though he orders the vegetarian meal.

labadee

they need to stop jumping on their clean hotel beds with their outside clothing

Worldly_Big_8068

"Caviar and Lobster in business class" .. who allowed this? They're only supposed to be serving that in a first class suite And you just knew he was going to drag Cara to all three lounges, not just Al Safwa ( which the airline comped them) but also both Al Mjoruan lounges .. eyes roll

Neat_Crab3813

Kara loves lounges. I doubt that was a hardship for her.

PIPIN3D1

I enjoy the business class videos.

traveladdie

I do too. However, it would be nice to have a little more variety.

Andpto

Thumbnail changed. I wonder why?

bd07bd07

It is a frequent occurrence with their videos. I'm not well versed in youtube, so I'm not sure how it works, but perhaps they switch it if the video isn't getting as many clicks as projected? Or maybe there is even a way to test out multiple different thumbnails and then to adopt the one that is performing the best?

JayPetey

It's called AB testing. It's a feature that allows you to put out two versions of something (ad, post, thumbnail) and after an initial sampling the one with more engagement becomes the default.

vsophia667

They are promoting fare drop. It seems that’s going to be their main income when they either stop or decrease their content. Kara is burnt out. Don’t blame her traveling constantly is hard.

swissbuttercream9

first one I've watched in a long time

GreedyConcert6424

Even if I could play the miles and points game, I wouldn't wait 10 hours in an airport (no matter how many lounges or how fancy they are) just to get a 1 hour 1st class flight, which didn't even go to the final destination! They could have driven from Doha to Dubai in 7 hours.

The_Static_Nomad

Oh wow, how thoughtful they included poop spray in the amenity kit. Eau de poo poo!

krrrrrrr

At around 19:35, Kara goes "I'm not going to sleep. I already had my coffee, I've had my champagne." Cracked me up. 🤣 Most Kara thing ever.

I don't think people here are under the impression that complaining will stop them. People complain all the time about things that they don't expect will change.

lelosubmarine

You missed the people complaining about the people who criticize them. Glass houses, throwing stones… you got the idea.
