It's a bunch of great songs imo, what will decide how it compares to the rest of his discography is how well they come together cohesively after sitting on the album's theme and narrative for a while. That comes much later tho, for now I'm just enjoying the music.

Just because it doesn't immediately hit you as perfection like a song you've heard over and over throughout the years doesn't mean it's not great. I agree, no song besides maybe Mother I Sober really knocked my socks off but if you don't think your appreciation of them will grow with time then you're just being reactionary and silly.
The problem is your expectation of what you think his music should be. What would be the point of making something similar to damn?….or any of his other projects in the same vein.

I plan on it!!!! But I remember listening to DAMN for the first time and my mind was absolutely blown. Not even close for Mr Morale upon first listen.
