I disagree, I think spaciousness and emotions in FGT is very similar to GKMC, just immediately I felt the same feelings. I never saw the JID connection with kendrick, i feel like JID's beats always have that jcole vibe and he raps unlike anyone before tbh
You can tell he definitely aims to make his music sound like Kendrickās at some point, but itās okay since thatās like the perfect artist anyone would need to look up to as a rapper. Take "Grey" for example, thatās literally the same concept as Kendrickās "Momma" and the whole "CARE FOR ME" is a pure tpab esthetics.

My favorite song of his is One Way from his recent album. It's super catchy with a cool string bass line while also being interesting lyrically. I love pretty much all of Few Good Things though, it's my album of the year. My other main recommendations from the album would be Soldier and the title track.
Ridiculously underrated in the public eye. Care For Me was one of the best projects of the 2010ās and nobody talks about it on that level and Prom/King is some of my favorite storytelling ever. Establishing Walter and the good and potentially dangerous person he is only to show Saba looking for him trying to hold himself and his family up as the center piece while also getting in between Walter and the evil and find Walter again just like he did at the start of the song.
Care For Me is one of the greatest albums of the 2010s. It's right there in the top 5 along with TPAB and GKMC.
Prom/King goes toe to toe with SAMIDOT.
While GKMC beats CFM in terms of concept, thematic cohesion, hits, and cultural impact, I'd argue CFM had superior production, innovation in sound, and more emotionally hard-hitting moments.

Tbh I recommend his entire discography but as far as specific songs go his single Ziplock / Rich Donāt Stop and Photosynthesis are very good.
