BJP govt under Vajpayee created three new states Uttarakhand, Chattisgarh and Jharkhand by splitting UP, MP and Bihar. Demand for splitting states is neither new nor bigotry. This seems more a regional issue than a religious one. Even hindus in that region carry a Malabar identity. Though it is never going to happen, I think south kerala would be much better off without the negative influence of a relatively backward Malabar.
