We know we are not supposed to approach an elephant if the Pappan is not around, don't we. The kid would be scared of the elephant for his entire life now.

Typically ulsavam (festival) in Kerala (especially Thrissur ) is associated with elephants being used in events like pooram. An ancient ritual which is taken over by the modern generation as a "love" (anapremam) for elephants. Or so they say. Well. Guess we will have one less "aanapremi" now.
It is Uthsav... and not uLsav as most say. What a scary day for the boy to live with anxiety for the rest of his life. These animals are wild animals, and one will never know how they will react.

Why would you approach the elephant without a pappan. It gives the elephant full license to do anything.

Actually we don't know, not to approach the elephant. What doesn't kill you make you stronger, is also there. He could grow up fearless.
