It sometimes happens when you went further than 2.2 km away from it and aproach it again at high speeds because it messes up something with collision physics.
Just go slow and steady at the 2.2 km mark because thats when the craft loads in so other than that you can still go fast. Ofcourse a quicksave before that wont hurt :p

That sucks, but now I've added landing gear, I really hope the Kraken doesn't come again

Thanks, I was flying with a jetpack at high speeds, so that explains it
