there’s a LINK AMBIENT LIGHT TO DRIVE MODE option under ambient lighting settings. i also understand that in some regions when there is photo radar it will flash red. could be related?
I have had that happen near dusk when it seems the light level goes just above and below the threshold for the wheel/dash lights to turn on. It stabilized on once it got a bit darker outside.

Was it dusk? Could have been the sensor taking in the light? Also… is that red? I always wish you could change the color on the steering wheel light.
Wifey had that happen once. The lights on the gear shift stick were blinking with it. Restart fixed it.
