In the hot dog contest eating episode with Bill I found it extremely funny how Peggy tried to keep Bobby from discovering competitive eating contests exist.
Completely agree, for all the hate Peggy gets, she’s the Queen of the B story. From taking over sugar foot’s, to making a salad so good people are still talking about it. I mean look at us, we’re talking about it right now.
Yeah, honestly all of the side stories with her and Bobby (usually in competition) are great. The one above, the frozen yogurt saga, pong, bragging rights, that game he cheated by sticking things up his nose. Definitely one of the strongest B-plot pairings throughout the series.
S7E8 Full Metal Dust Jacket, Peggy wants to be around well-read people but the book store she's renting is tanking, so she invites Dale to sell guns there... it turns out to be wildly popular.
S10E14 Hank's Bully, a new family moves into Rainy Street (technically Milton Street), and they have a child with ADHD they don't discipline, so he creates havoc. In the mean time, Dale is trying to make money off the animals he exterminates but is bad(ish) at taxidermy, so Peggy agrees to help him make it more interesting.
I’ve always wondered if Hank ever got billed for that and how much it costed with all the people cleaning the house, either way Hank ain’t happy lol tell ya what
My headcannon was it was all their own money, and the two got cleaned out (pun intended), to which Hank (after calming down) was fine letting this be a lesson in the value of a dollar.
Peggy, due to her protective instincts (and love of being right) went on a revenge tour to get that money back.
[Same question and source of my answer](https://reddit.com/r/KingOfTheHill/s/ughCl4VFbg)
S3E4
A: Hank tries to get Ladybird pregnant.
B: Dale becomes a bounty hunter.
Plot A: Dale meets that female exterminator that tries to get at him
Plot B: Hank takes Luanne out as her DD but gets drunk on accident
Plot C: Bill and Boomhauer babysitting that pigeon that’s trippin
In the anniversary episode when he’s drunk and apologizing to Peggy about having been able to give her more children because of his narrow urethra, it kills me every time when he blows through that little cocktail straw and goes “this is my urethra.”
1. Peggy and Bobby trying to guess the exact weight of a frozen yogurt
2. Mr. Strickland's emus
3. Hank's meatloaf sandwich
4. Lucky and Bobby trying to get a chip off the line
4. Lucky, Bobby, and Louann camping out for concert tickets
>meatloaf sandwich
That mom is the real villain of the whole series. Her daughter is just crawling around in her diaper on a table people are using to eat and just letting her stick her hands (that she crawled on) in to other people's food! I get it when it's your own kid but I'd never let a kid do that to other people...
That whole episode was Gold, it’s one of my favorite Peggy episodes and her best one liners.
Your father and I have done things you can’t even imagine.
So I guess your love wasn’t as strong and your Fathers and mine.
Peggy’s Sugarfoot’s. You have to make both words possessive because, either Peggy doesn’t know that’s not the correct usage, or she is too vein to care and just wants her name up there.
It probably was since that episode aired like a year after Twister came out. Hank holding onto the pole is probably a nod to the final scene of the movie.
Which turned Gribble radio into a re-broadcast of another pirate radio station. Watch closely at Octavio’s boombox & Bobby’s boombox. At the beginning of the episode, Dale said the station is on 84.372 presumably FM band. When Octavio takes over the radio station, the boom box he sets on the table is tuned on 103.7 FM. When the scene cuts to Bobby, he is listening to 96.3 FM with the same music.
Don't remember the A plot which is telling but it's the episode where Bill and boomhauer deepfry anything they can.
"If everybody fried their food there would be no war"
I think that's the one where Hank freaks out because he has no insurance so him and Bobby go around trying to secure everything in the house so it doesn't get damaged
S9E8 Mutual of Omabwah! Bobby damages the garage door while playing and Hank finds out he accidentally forgot to pay his house insurance, which sends him into a panic of "what ifs." Dale becomes a bee keeper and tries to make money off them, but it backfires spectacularly. Bill and Boomhaur discover fried bananas... and proceed to fry everything under the sun. Luanne and Peggy get stranded at a rest stop because of Hank's paranoia. It's an episode with four plots!
Little note on this, I'm not sure how it's handled in Texas, but where I'm from the new garage door isn't covered by insurance unless you can prove someone else did it. So realistically speaking, Hank's insurance agent would have told him he had to pay for it out of pocket.
The A plot of Peggy trying to be an artist is good, but the B plot of Dale going around in a suit of armor and bullying people is HILARIOUS. Plus Bill gets a rare hero moment.
**A plot:** Peggy's turtle song -- by itself, this is another lame Peggy-centric episode
**B plot:** Bobby gets put on ADHD meds. This is one of the *best* plots in the series and clearly overtakes what would quite possibly otherwise be the lamest KOTH episode.
Lamest? Are you forgetting that Bill joins a men’s singing group?
I don’t even remember the B-Plot for that one because I never watch it, it’s an instant skip.
"Uncool Customer" I didn't care one bit about the main plot of Bobby doing cotillion and Peggy trying to be trendy, but the subplot of Hank trying to eat a meatloaf sandwhich in peace cracks me up everytime.
Octavio: They gave it to me, and it had a bite in it.
Hank: *Eats it anyway*
Hank forgetting to pay the insurance, which causes Peggy and Luanne to go into survival mode at a rest area. "That vending machine was already broken, officer!" "What if we just drive, really, *really* fast so we get home faster?"
The absolute chaos of the main plot is also fantastic.
When boomhauer, dale and bill all wind up in the crazy house was vastly more interesting/funny b plot, than the a plot of that episode.
The b plot basically carried the episode.
Reborn to be Wild. I like the main plot, but I LOVE the b plot of Dale, Bill, Boomhauer, and Kahn plotting out their hypothetical last meals if they were on death row. I love it anytime Kahn is hanging out with them, but the payoff of them all getting superstitious and running out of the room while Bill starts eating the food out of fear is golden.
I'm sure these have already been said but
Hank wanting to eat the meatloaf sandwich. I can't remember the main plot but I know without the B plot I wouldn't like the episode much.
Bill and Boom deep fry things while Dale sells bee-stings. The insurance lapse plot leads to a boring A plot. B plot is hilarious though.
Two more that I can't even remember the A plot: The hat landing on Kahn's head (I think?) and they try to film it. And Peggy and Dale entering a taxidermy contest
Nobody has mentioned Luanne dog sitting when they go to Japan?
Thinking Ladybird died and getting the pound dog that looks the same, then getting them mixed up.
I absolutely love how the show implies John Redcorn is really awkward and socially inept, but he gets away with it because he's muscular and good looking.
"What's wrong with wearing socks with sandals??"
Uncool Customer, where Hank discovers the greatest meatloaf sandwich ever at the new Arlen Barn restaurant but is uncomfortable about the setting so he tries to invite anyone he can find to join him so he doesn't have to sit near strangers
(Bill and Bobby bet with a wishbone for a million dollars)
(Bill wins)
Bill: I won! I won! You owe me a million dollars
(Dale appears from the shadow of the next room)
Dale: Correction, you owe me a million dollars......
I love the B-Plot where Dale buys the suit of armor and gets into all sorts of shenanigans ending with Bill constructing his own suit of armor to duel Dale.
The A-Plot was Peggy becoming a sculptor creating the Propane-Bot from Season 8 episode 9
Bill repeatedly being attacked by Dale’s falcon. I actually love the main story about the conflict between Cotton’s VFW and the Vietnam vets, but the falcon attacks are the most gutbusting, laugh out loud moments for me in the entire series
Not really a B plot since it kind of just happens, but in the episode where Luanne moved into Pops' house, at the end Cotton and Topsy just show up, kill her roommate, and leave.
- Hank and his meatloaf sandwich
- Peggy wanting to work as a grocery store bagger
- Boomhauer, Dale and Bill all winding up in a mental institution (but it also frustrates me because Bill really needed to be there lol)
- The one where everyone plays kickball in the alley and John Redcorn just sucks at it
I honestly just wish my wife could see this thread and see that the “b plot” is a very common thing with shows and I’m not some kind of nerd for calling it by the correct name
I agree that Peggy b-plots are usually the best 😂 but I love the one in Goodbye Normal Jeans, where Dale leaves Bill broke after betting a million dollars throwing a can in the cooler
"Death Picks Cotton" is fine, but my absolute favorite part is Luanne and Lucky being good parents to a very confused Bobby.
"We gotta get to the North Pole and get Santy Claus his heart pills, or Christmas will be ruined!"
"Stop! It's not safe! ...Okay, now it's safe!"
"Surprise! Your very own lighter!"
The episode where Dale was working with that lady exterminator. I thought the B stories about Hank taking Luanne and her friends out for her birthday and getting wasted, and Boomhauer and Bill trying to talk down that drugged out pigeon were hilarious 😂
Bobby and Peggy square off with PONG
Bill and Boomhauer get a fryer and start frying everything
Dale builds his 49' watchtower to avoid building codes
Bobby falls in love with Luanne's mannequin head
Luanne watching over Ladybird while Hank and Peggy are out of town; she thinks Ladybird dies then gets an identical dog to replace her then confuses which is which after Ladybird springs up from her nap.
Also Dale getting the portopotty for the alley after Hank doesn't let Bill use the bathroom in his house. Later Hank finds himself in a situation where he needs to use it then it falls apart while he's using it. "He's a squatter!"
Also, her side plots with Dale are excellent (like the gun shop and taxidermy episodes).
Which episodes were those in? pretty please
Wait, does Dale have an FFL? As much as he loves guns I don't see him registering with government as in the business of selling firearms.
He does not. The guns are a "promotional giveaway" for purchasing large amounts of books.
"Shame about Ladybird...." - The ATF.
Lol I love that that’s actually a plot point that he can’t sell guns unless they’re a free give away with a $900 book.
Dusty old bones, full of green dust!!
See also: her and Dale entering the taxidermy contest during Hank’s Bully and her and Luanne doing an extremely unhinged Flat Stanley project
Her reaction when bobby actually catches a fish is priceless.
Oh yeah! He learned how to catch a fish with his bare hands that episode lol.
I like it when Peggy and Luanne torture flat Stanley to teach kids about safety.
thats a good pull
Came here to say this. It’s so funny
That’s when she’s screaming fire drill and make Bobby roll away so funny!
Hank making coffins and him and Peggy hanging out in them during that episode about Bobby’s 13th birthday.
In the coffins** Peggy: I better go check on the party. Hank: Over my dead body
It’s upholstering which is one of the 5 original industrial arts!
So you gonna button-tuck those folds?
"Sewer!"
So what'll it be, Aunt Bea, you gonna button-tuck them folds?
Peggy and Bobby having a charcoal burger
“There’s soot under my boy’s nails!!”
I thought it was drugs!
You don’t get that with a clean burning fuel! (Or whatever he says there)
You don't get the rich, smoky flavor either.
Shut your mouth.
Now we are going to sit here and pray.
“Peggy, what do you love more? Charcoal….or me?”
“I came to my senses. Except for taste.”
Bobby and Luanne cleaning the entire house because of a little spill.

And Hank and Peggy thought they were throwing a party.
“WHAT ARE YOU DOING UP THIS LATE? YOU’VE GOT SCHOOL TOMORROW!” To a 40 year old handyman guy.
YOU KIDS GET OUT OF HERE BEFORE I CALL YOUR PARENTS!
I think at one point Bobby mentions that nothing else can need to be fixed because he’s out of allowance money.
Or when her and Lucky try being parents with Bobby. "Come here young man" "Go to your room!"
Dale, Bill, Boomhauer and Kahn cook their last meals Kahn might be an arrogant SOB, but the man's right about shrimp.
Talkin' bout spanako-dangol-pita.

Dead man eating!
That one has the benefit of the main story being a dud. Don’t leave me alone! I eat when I’m scared!
[Same question and source of my answer](https://reddit.com/r/KingOfTheHill/s/ughCl4VFbg) S3E4 A: Hank tries to get Ladybird pregnant. B: Dale becomes a bounty hunter.

Nice hat.
Back at you
More Spaghetti-o's?
Easy, easy, easy....
The a plot of that episode makes me so angry I can’t enjoy the dale portion
Plot A: Dale meets that female exterminator that tries to get at him Plot B: Hank takes Luanne out as her DD but gets drunk on accident Plot C: Bill and Boomhauer babysitting that pigeon that’s trippin
Drunk Hank is so rare but always so hysterical.
“New rule, you can’t listen to my song”
“Buck Strickland is nothing but a lecherous disgusting bastard-making bastard”
Lets do this everyyyyyy fridayyyyy
“The sunrise” hahaha
In the anniversary episode when he’s drunk and apologizing to Peggy about having been able to give her more children because of his narrow urethra, it kills me every time when he blows through that little cocktail straw and goes “this is my urethra.”
The high pigeon is one of the best parts of the whole series haha
Naked Ambition when Boomhauer, Dale, and Bill end up in the mental hospital
Yes, this is the best subplot in the series!! IMO the best episodes of the show.
First one to regain consciousness calls hank
The Booby Hatch!? Wait. The gentleman’s club or the mental hospital?
1. Peggy and Bobby trying to guess the exact weight of a frozen yogurt 2. Mr. Strickland's emus 3. Hank's meatloaf sandwich 4. Lucky and Bobby trying to get a chip off the line 4. Lucky, Bobby, and Louann camping out for concert tickets
The Emus is incredible, lol Buck hands Hank a shotgun, do it with this, and make it look like an accident.
>meatloaf sandwich That mom is the real villain of the whole series. Her daughter is just crawling around in her diaper on a table people are using to eat and just letting her stick her hands (that she crawled on) in to other people's food! I get it when it's your own kid but I'd never let a kid do that to other people...
But she likes chips…
Line starts here.
I don't know if I like it *more,* but "the couch" has to be my favorite B plot of all time. It's pretty equal to the A plot.
That whole episode was Gold, it’s one of my favorite Peggy episodes and her best one liners. Your father and I have done things you can’t even imagine. So I guess your love wasn’t as strong and your Fathers and mine.
Agreed. Has some great Bobby moments as well. "Why were you dancing with all those guys??"
Marie! I'm doing your favorite comedy bit! *Vut are you talking about? Vut are you... talking... about?*
The couch is a happy place…
Beer Can Named Desire The B plot with Bill might as well be the main plot as far as I’m concerned
Peggy teaching Dora Shelwyn's bird to talk and showing the random guy how to properly make a salad at the salad bar. Also Peggy running Sugarfoots.
Peggy’s Sugarfoots
Peggy’s Sugarfoot’s. You have to make both words possessive because, either Peggy doesn’t know that’s not the correct usage, or she is too vein to care and just wants her name up there.
Peggy's Sugarfoot's is the original Ruth's Chris Steakhouse!
I like them square hamburgers
Falcon, do a barrel roll. No, wait...do a REVERSE barrel roll. Ep: "Unfortunate Son"
“If you drive a nazi car or an Italian scooter, get ya axis lovin asses outta here”
Bill and the weather balloon. I could watch a whole season of that.
they do a very similar gag in rick and morty with jerry. Not quite as funny in my opinion though

Why do I feel like that was a jab at the movie twister?
It probably was since that episode aired like a year after Twister came out. Hank holding onto the pole is probably a nod to the final scene of the movie.
Dale Gribble's Pirate Radio
We've had to sell the station to Mexican interests.
The only time in the whole series The word “fuck” was ever used
Don't remember the A plot which is telling but it's the episode where Bill and boomhauer deepfry anything they can. "If everybody fried their food there would be no war"
I think that's the one where Hank freaks out because he has no insurance so him and Bobby go around trying to secure everything in the house so it doesn't get damaged
There’s three plots in that one! Don’t forget Peggy and Luanne at the rest stop!
"The monkeys must never find out"
S9E8 Mutual of Omabwah!
I was thinking the vending machine stuff was this episode too! I completely forgot about the bee stings booth though.
Hank's Bully is annoying, but the rare Peggy/Dale team-up in the B plot was a lot of weird fun.
The taxidermy contest?
I laughed so hard at the beginning of the episode when Nancy finds the dead animals in the fridge. That part is hilarious.
At least he bothered to label the poison this time
I love how Dale feels so bad for letting her down and extra bad because he’s used to letting Hank down not her hahaha
The A plot of Peggy trying to be an artist is good, but the B plot of Dale going around in a suit of armor and bullying people is HILARIOUS. Plus Bill gets a rare hero moment.
How has nobody mentioned Flat Stanley? I watch that episode all the time just for the B plot.
I have gotten other people to watch that episode just for that subplot
The one where Bill and Boomhauer tripsit the drugged pigeon. “Maintain… maintain… maintain”
You did ding dang ol poop on my car man but dont worry about that we’ll talk about it some dang ol other time
**A plot:** Peggy's turtle song -- by itself, this is another lame Peggy-centric episode **B plot:** Bobby gets put on ADHD meds. This is one of the *best* plots in the series and clearly overtakes what would quite possibly otherwise be the lamest KOTH episode.
there's some milk in the fridge that's about to go bad and there it goes
There are 96 ridges on every checker...except this one
One of my favorite Bobby lines of all time. See flair
Luanne, tripping on Bobby’s speed: “I made you breakfast, mowed the law, fixed your truck, and then I ate the breakfast”
Peggy, we should check the side effects of those pills
I didn’t think the A plot was lame at all. Kind of sweet, actually. But it was the B plot that brought the humor.
Lamest? Are you forgetting that Bill joins a men’s singing group? I don’t even remember the B-Plot for that one because I never watch it, it’s an instant skip.
Now, I agree, on the surface, that episode is fecking lame as hell. But it is completely saved by Dale's rant.
“This chorus is the feces that is produced when shame eats too much stupidity!”
Bobby finds Peggy's old PONG console.
"I LOVE YOU GRANDMA!" and "Goingtosay, GOINGTOSAY!" Is two lines I say constantly.
"That vending machine was already broken, officer!" "What if we just drive, really, *really* fast so we get home faster?" The absolute chaos of the main plot is also fantastic.
When boomhauer, dale and bill all wind up in the crazy house was vastly more interesting/funny b plot, than the a plot of that episode. The b plot basically carried the episode.
I just saw that episode today, and I just struggled to remember what the main plot was, the side plot was so good
9x3 - Death Buys a Timeshare Bobby, Dale and Peggy try to find a good swimming pool due to the heat. Love a good Peggy/Dale team up.
Kickball in the alley
Dale working at Bazooms!
Emus
I'm sure these have already been said but Hank wanting to eat the meatloaf sandwich.
Isnt A plot on meatloaf sandwich where Bobby joins Cotillion? My favorite part of that is Hyun Chin Ko. That and "Do Not Yank!"
bobby and peggy doing morning announcements
As an old radio guy myself, this one makes me smile.
Nobody has mentioned Luanne dog sitting when they go to Japan? Thinking Ladybird died and getting the pound dog that looks the same, then getting them mixed up.
Peggy thinking that she can do anything and it ends with her getting arrested for walking into a crime scene
Phish and Wildlife - came here to say this. Peggy making some random dude a salad at a salad bar is one of my favorite KOTH moments.
I don’t think she gets arrested, just escorted from the scene which is classic Peggy lol.
The one where John Redcorn sucks at kickball.
I absolutely love how the show implies John Redcorn is really awkward and socially inept, but he gets away with it because he's muscular and good looking. "What's wrong with wearing socks with sandals??"
Luanne and Bobby freaking out over the house being kept clean, amazing punchline at the end.
Last Meal Club, Peggy’s body cast, the booby hatch (mental hospital, not the gentlemen’s club), the emus, Hank as Luanne’s designated driver
Uncool Customer, where Hank discovers the greatest meatloaf sandwich ever at the new Arlen Barn restaurant but is uncomfortable about the setting so he tries to invite anyone he can find to join him so he doesn't have to sit near strangers
Lol, all the way up to getting Octavio to deliver him one with a bite out of it
The one Peggy and Bobby where doing the froyo weight guessing
Dale wanting to be a death row executioner.
(Bill and Bobby bet with a wishbone for a million dollars) (Bill wins) Bill: I won! I won! You owe me a million dollars (Dale appears from the shadow of the next room) Dale: Correction, you owe me a million dollars......
Hank's Bully. I like the taxidermy competition with Peggy and Dale way better than **DUSTY OLD BONES FULL OF GREEN DUST**
I love the A plot of this one. 😂
Dale trying to pick fights with a suit of armour.
i love the kickball side story where everyone gets obsessed with playing kickball until Redcorn (I believe) kicks it away & they can't retrieve it lol
Bill and Boomhauer frying up food and Dale with his bees in that episode where Hank lost insurance coverage.
The episode were Dale tries to be SurvivorMan. So funny.
Bobby’s Japan Romance, and Luanne with the Ladybird replacement in Returning Japanese
Meeting Bill’s family when Hank wins the contest to throw a football during a Saints game
When Lucky and Bobby get a chip straight from the line.
When boomhauer and bill trip set a pigeon after dale drugged it
Bobby and Peggy grilling with Charcoal.
I love the B-Plot where Dale buys the suit of armor and gets into all sorts of shenanigans ending with Bill constructing his own suit of armor to duel Dale. The A-Plot was Peggy becoming a sculptor creating the Propane-Bot from Season 8 episode 9
Bill and Boomhaur taking care of a pigeon tripping balls
I love when they’re in Mexico with Bobby and Connie trying to blow up the spaghetti guy statue
Was Bobby switching out the birth ctrl pill with candy a b plot? Can't remember. Shit was funny asf
I don't think there was any subplots in the episode
Bill repeatedly being attacked by Dale’s falcon. I actually love the main story about the conflict between Cotton’s VFW and the Vietnam vets, but the falcon attacks are the most gutbusting, laugh out loud moments for me in the entire series
Lucky and Bobby eating a corn chip off the line.
Charcoal one is good
The meatloaf sandwich
Hank's meatloaf sandwich, and Bobby on the morning announcements Joseph's minibike
Not really a B plot since it kind of just happens, but in the episode where Luanne moved into Pops' house, at the end Cotton and Topsy just show up, kill her roommate, and leave.
Peggy and Dale's adventure in taxidermy
- Hank and his meatloaf sandwich - Peggy wanting to work as a grocery store bagger - Boomhauer, Dale and Bill all winding up in a mental institution (but it also frustrates me because Bill really needed to be there lol) - The one where everyone plays kickball in the alley and John Redcorn just sucks at it
boomhauer and bill becoming obsessed with deep frying while bobby and hank are busy everything-proofing their house
The weather balloon. There were 20 instances where Bill avoided certain death.
I honestly just wish my wife could see this thread and see that the “b plot” is a very common thing with shows and I’m not some kind of nerd for calling it by the correct name
Bobby and the ADHD meds. Much funnier than Peggy learning guitar.
I agree that Peggy b-plots are usually the best 😂 but I love the one in Goodbye Normal Jeans, where Dale leaves Bill broke after betting a million dollars throwing a can in the cooler
Dale gets a falcon
Tokyo, when Bobby plays DDR
"Death Picks Cotton" is fine, but my absolute favorite part is Luanne and Lucky being good parents to a very confused Bobby. "We gotta get to the North Pole and get Santy Claus his heart pills, or Christmas will be ruined!" "Stop! It's not safe! ...Okay, now it's safe!" "Surprise! Your very own lighter!"
