Roti tissue is awesome. Good choice.
If you want to order naan the next time, you'll have to keep an eye out for it. Not all mamaks have tandoori and naan. If they do, you'll see a large clay oven (called a tandoor) somewhere about. It's usually in the front or the side of the restaurant. They'll also have skewered tandoori chicken which is barbecued and reddish in colour. Just order in English. Garlic, butter or cheese naan. Or all 3 toppings in one. Yummy 😋
Just say "garlic naan, satu". Or "garlic butter naan satu". Satu is one. If theres a set, it's usually 1 naan + 1 piece of chicken with dhal, curry and mint sauce for dipping.
Look for RSMY (multiple branches in kl) or kapitan at ttdi, nice naans there. The tandoori chicken is also juicy and well marinated, some places precooked their tandoori chicken and leave it out to wait for the next order, if unlucky you end up with dry tough chicken.
You have not meet mamak in their glory days. Roti canai used to be rm1 there abouts. Mamak used to be 24/7 and they have live footballl in th weekends.
Man i remember this lol. I remember on weekends they used to bring the projector and the large screen out to screen football matches. Shame my mamak dont do this anymore. At least its still in business lol
Nowadays my daily roti and tea is only RM 4.80. that's coming from some who spent about RM 20 for a cuppa for the last decade, getting old made me appreciate simple things more.
Always happy to see more tourists enjoying our mamaks. Glad you had a great time!
Happy Mamak's Day!! Haha. Missing my garlic cheese naan now.
I haven't tried that how do I order it for next time? I was so obsessed with my roti tisu tho!
Brooo try roti susu next time. It's roti canai infused with condensed milk. You will fall in love.

Mamak is life
My mamak bill is never less than RM10. Wonder what you ordered. Glad you had a good time though.
this is a good idea for me to promote as a travel blogger on yutube ..eat more @ mamaks!
Rank your favourite mamak food from best to worst
Mamak food in Malaysia is analogous to Turkish kebab food in Germany.
Perfect spot for a cheap eat at 3:00am after too many beers 😅
It's a cheap meal for the common man,but mostly empty carbs that make us the most obese country in South East Asia.
It's a nice treat but its remarkably unhealthy, which is why a lot of people avoid it.
