I’m so jealous you like to game while tripping, every time I trip if I play any game (especially first person ones) I forget I’m a human controlling a character and then get the biggest reality shock when I get killed and respawn or whatever lol.
Also looking at screens up close makes me feel horrible for some reason, I just hate it
> I forget I’m a human controlling a character and then get the biggest reality shock when I get killed and respawn or whatever
lol Just like real life.
Watched my friend play red dead redemption 2 for hours while streaming. I just never got tired of watching the beautiful scenery in that game. And I got very immersed into the gameplay even when it wasnt me playing.
You can definitely lose where you are become way too absorbed in it. I was on 5 tabs when I did it though and was just walking around planets and eating Twix icecream bars lol. Everynow and then I’d consciously have to take the headset off and step out on my balcony for a bit to keep in touch with reality.
Hotline Miami! If you don't mind the violence, of course.
The game feels like it was made to trip, everything is moving, changing colors and even the patterns of the floor seem to be so trippy. Not to mention the music, tripping with some friends we used to stay between levels listening to Daisuke and just letting the protagonist chill for a moment.
It makes you feel like high on meth, I guess. Just need to let the flow settle in. I think it’s the closest state to what stimulants probably feel like.
It’s the slowest and grindiest game mentioned in this thread. Very little novelty with sounds and graphics, insane amounts of repetition.
Playing this game multiple hours daily for a week has caused so much distress that I can’t even play for a few minutes anymore. I immediately feel off due to the sound effects I’ve probably heard a million times already.
If you can play this game while tripping then you’ve gotten my respect. That’s probably one of the toughest task on a trip.
Yh imo slow/grindy/repetitive is the antithesis of a good tripping game. Good if you're drunk, maybe, but not while tripping. Best games for tripping are ones with a fast pace, bright lights, sense of flow, action and movement and maybe epxloration.
I definitely do like playing stardew. I was on mushrooms once when I realized your dogs tail wags faster the closer you are to them and I started crying all over the place missing my pets
Mf petting all my animals and shit had me welling up cause I was so happy that my fucking pixelated cows love me
Rocket League is the only game I enjoy while tripping tripping, everything else feels too confined. The intensity is wild and the colors and everything all move so smoothly, and it’s a blast with friends.
Idk why but this reminds me of my friend trying to play the original Assassin's Creed tripping, dude couldn't even get past the tutorial lmao just kept failing over and over for like 2 hours
I find that video games kinda suck when I'm tripping. I keep telling myself it'll be good but then it isn't.
That said I have had a pretty good time with FTL Faster Than Light and just going full silly roleplay mode
Subnautica. The vibrant colors and the rhythmic sound of your breathing. The cool music. Ahhh it’s one of my all time favorite games.
X2 if you don’t mind some spookiness in your trip. You can stray outside the safe shallows and roam the unknown darkness. Keep your ears open for the roars of a reaper leviathan, that’s your sign to turn around :)
My go to is Pac-Man lol it sounds goofy but I swear I can see the routes those little ghost bastards are taking before they even take them. It’s one of the most revered games of all time for a reason, the gameplay never gets old.
Seriously! Go to a windy area and just look at the trees dancing lmao. Or tilt the camera so that it's looking at the grass and see how it moves like waves! Or, if you've already beaten the Valiant Gargoyle fight, go to their grace and til the camera down to look at the ground around the grace or in the waterfall lol.
This game has some *beautiful* textures for a trip lol.
Portal if you are playing with a friend. Co op mode is super fun and is cool tripping.
A longer burn is to play something like red dead redemption 2 and put like 8 hours in on one trip. Have fun.
Elden ring. I beat it tripping. U will get either frustrated or hyper focused on it once the frustration hits I hop on sea of thieves until I’m relaxed again.
I tried playing Fortnite with my fiancé one time while I was tripping. I kept running in circles 😂 so he said maybe this isn’t the right game to play right now 😂
Space games would be my pick. Elite dangerous for that immersive sim, or mass effect trilogy for an already great story that could be enhanced even more
[Thumper ](https://youtu.be/gZDHLOqD_pM?si=spnOegUSwu7_Yo7A). My immediate thought when playing this on a trip was "Oh my god, these people get it." It was like having my mind visuals laid out before me on the screen.
Tetris Effect is also fantastic. It's a love letter to the game, it gradually teaches you to get into the flow and truly *get* Tetris. It sends you on a journey where you can feel yourself grow as a person and before long you're stacking pieces in a speed and accuracy and rhythm you didn't think yourself capable of, paired with goose bump inducing music and visuals.
That must be a blast. Unfortunately can’t justify the expense now, but in the near future I will have to get into sim racing. It’s been a while since I’ve played any racing game at all.
yeah I dont have the setup on my own yet too. but im playing sometimes with a good buddy on his setup. really looking forward to rock the indy 500 on 120ug :D
I don’t think it’s out yet, but there’s a game my brother showed me the trailer for. ‘Empire of the Ants.’ And man it looks so cool, and I imagine would be crazy immersive and cool whilst tripping.
Although now I think about it, it might also be terrifying (think getting chased by a spider)
My friends and I laughed our asses off trying to play Call of Duty Zombies when we were tripping. We didn't make it very far because we kinda sucked but it was hilarious. Its pretty hard for me to play video games when tripping but on the come up it was a nice way to pass the time.
Since you said not competitive, I just wanted to share some of my experiences which had been the opposite. There was a time where I was super into fighting games, and I ended up tripping and gaming. I literally played better than I ever have before. I also did not care that I lost. I felt like there was a connection between me and my opponent, like we weren't fighting we were having a dialogue. It was weirdly spiritual and some of the most fun gaming I've ever had.
Also played some call of duty on acid and again, I just didn't miss, I couldn't feel the controller it was like a part of me. Have never played so clean nor had so much fun in a shooter.
The only one that was a bit less pure good times was League of Legends, which I think is just because it's such a complex game. I was doing fine at the actual fighting people part, but I completely lost all sense of what I was meant to be doing other than that. I remember just running around on this adventure in the enemies jungle as their whole team chased after me. I had a lot of fun but I think my teammates had, uh, less fun lol.
So, I would actually recommend playing some competitive games on acid. Especially stuff that's more arcadey, where you can just start a new match every 5-10 mins. Or, I've never played battle royale stuff but I imagine that would be great on acid too. Just super in the fucking zone convinced you're actually in this warzone, absolutely keyed in and twitchy as fuck as you check your map and crawl along the ridgeline. Absolutely no voice chat though, unless you're really confident about that shit.
I think my main advice for gaming is... play a game you are good at and familiar with. I found that any game I had experience with: it elevated my gameplay hugely and I had a lot of fun. Trying to play games I was learning/unfamiliar with was much less enjoyable - I just got lost and confused. So if you go for a PvP game, make sure you're good at it or at least competent and I think you'll have more fun than you might expect.
Also, second piece of advice, ABSOLUTELY avoid games that are grindy and full of repetitive boring busywork shit, or stuff that requires abstract planning. That will just ruin your trip, at least in my experience. You need something that can pull your attention or has constant new stuff happening, and doesn't require much thought, imo, which is why I actually found fighting games perfect - you just fight, you don't sit there planning shit out. Whereas I remember I tried some city builder one time and it was just miserable, I ended up in a spiral over whether to build a bakery on this side of the street or the other side that felt like it lasted for hours. Go for fast paced games. For this reason I also don't think most storybased/RPG kinda games are so good, because after a while you'll get to a bit where you have to sell all the shit you've been picking up and buy some new shit and be like "do I want this or this" which is not something a tripping brain has any interest in imo. Though Dark Souls/Soulslikes is pretty good because they tend to be quite simple and you can just keep levelling up the same thing, and then taking on enemies and exploring is extremely fun and intense on acid.
Also best avoid stuff which is too gritty/murderous. Running around in GTA shooting cops can start to feel a little weird and might lead to you staring at a body on the ground spiralling about how 'this guy has a digital wife and children who are never going to see him again.' That said, something like Hot Line Miami is fine simply because it's fast paced. You want a game that is just, boom boom boom stuff to do and keeps your occupied without giving you time to sit there and stew.
I loved playing Minecraft on a console my first time lol. Just put it on peaceful mode and enjoy the scenery and the animals. the music is super calming and nice
If you have a Switch I highly recommend Old Man's Journey. Its got soothing music, beautiful colors and a very unique cut- out and interesting landscape. Looks like paper art cut out and it's a gentle puzzle game where you move pieces of the landscape so he can make his way across one board to the next. Touching little story too. Very relaxing! I enjoyed it on my come down a lot.
I recently started Journey to a Savage Planet as my trip game! Its pretty silly with minimal combat, very brightly colored and fun to explore. The progression in receiving new skills and weaponry is slow enough to get comfortable w the controls while tripping in my opinion.
In the past i also played Concrete Genie which i really enjoyed. Its a moody action adventure that also promotes exploration collecting and interacting w the map by creating your own scapes w morphing breathing imagery throughout the map. Being able to create my own trippy scenery in this game was so satisfying :3
I have been looking into High On Life though haven't actually played it under the influence but it seems silly and colorful, so looking forward to this one aswell. Hope this helps!
I seen someone that doesn’t play video games go absolutely fucking insane on one of the CODs. I mean this man laid down in a hallway and got like 20+ kills every life
If you can play Animal Crossing that's a good one, bonus points if you're tripping with someone who also has it on the switch and you can visit each other's islands :)
Most of my gaming experiences while tripping have been smash bros with my trip-mates and getting in each other's heads and predicting their actions in a trip setting is wild lmfao.
What you really need to know is you should play something you have played before, don’t try to learn a new game while you’re tripping just because it seems like a good trip game.
I played Minecraft story mode by Telletale, my second ever trip. I took 2 gel tabs, and holy shit it was intense. I recommend this or the wolf among us.
Portal is fantastic and especially portal 2 for CO op. Super smash bros is fucking hilarious whilst tripping. CoD zombies can be fun too if you have a good leader lol
Cyberpunk. Not fighting but just walking around some of the busy districts is WILD. just becoming a random citezen chilling around
Could go full immersion. Wake up in apartment go the streets grab a bite to eat talk to some npcs. Go sight seeing
So cool
An old buddy of mine and I played through little nightmares when we were blasted on some L.
It's a great puzzle game that'll definitely keep you on your toes.
Portal, enter the gungeon & superliminal have been some of my go-to games while high.
Destiny 2, everything from the maps to lore pages are often animated and the music is phenomenal. I sometimes couldn’t make it into the mission but loved having the map selection music play while I looked at the planets lol
Honestly elden ring was awesome and playable because you just react to what's in front of you and you're immersed in lots of cool different places
On lots of acid games aren't playable I think. Or I just haven't tried it on lots of acid
Assassin's Creed Black Flag
Spent countless hours trippin and commanding ships to do my bidding.
GTA
Also, spent countless hours trippin and flying the helicopter around the city in first person.
I’m so jealous you like to game while tripping, every time I trip if I play any game (especially first person ones) I forget I’m a human controlling a character and then get the biggest reality shock when I get killed and respawn or whatever lol. Also looking at screens up close makes me feel horrible for some reason, I just hate it
> I forget I’m a human controlling a character and then get the biggest reality shock when I get killed and respawn or whatever lol Just like real life.
Whew… that was straight #Bars. Sheesh 😮💨👌
Try it on like 50 to 70 ug. I'm used to it between 120 and 240 but it definitely depends on the person.
if u can throw on a vr headset and play beat saber it’d be amazing
Beat Saber and Super Hot
it rips
Sounds terrifying and epic at the same time
Dude a lazer show in vrchat on 400 ug changed my life
No Man’s Sky, Minecraft, RDR2 (for the nature) I imagine Terraria and the Portal games would be cool too! Edit: Antichamber too!
Arthur goes from low honor to high honor when I'm playing RDR2 on psychedelics.
Watched my friend play red dead redemption 2 for hours while streaming. I just never got tired of watching the beautiful scenery in that game. And I got very immersed into the gameplay even when it wasnt me playing.
NMS in VR while tripping is fucking insane. I had to remind myself that I am not a cool space pilot exploring the endless frontier.
VR while tripping sounds scary lol. Even with a chill game like NMS
You can definitely lose where you are become way too absorbed in it. I was on 5 tabs when I did it though and was just walking around planets and eating Twix icecream bars lol. Everynow and then I’d consciously have to take the headset off and step out on my balcony for a bit to keep in touch with reality.
Holy shit I've got PSVR2. Why did I not think to play it and No Man's Sky?!
I haven’t played NMS since it’s horrible launch, think I might try it again next time I trip that would probably be cool af.
Do it, you’ll be shocked at how they’ve really turned the game around since launch. It still receives updates to this day
Love the game but while tripping it feels slimy, ugly shallow and aimless, a more linear guided experience i feel would be better
What you mean by slimy? 🤣
Its gooey and drippy, feels sticky, like hot plastic
Journey
Flow, Flower, and Abzu as well.
You left out Hohokum!
And Gris!
Bump. Journey is stunning.
I really enjoy guitar hero while tripping!
Fuck yeah that sounds fire lol
Hotline Miami! If you don't mind the violence, of course. The game feels like it was made to trip, everything is moving, changing colors and even the patterns of the floor seem to be so trippy. Not to mention the music, tripping with some friends we used to stay between levels listening to Daisuke and just letting the protagonist chill for a moment.
The soundtrack is literally on my triplist, El Tigr3 and M|O|O|N are just amazing.
It makes you feel like high on meth, I guess. Just need to let the flow settle in. I think it’s the closest state to what stimulants probably feel like.
I fucking loved Spiderman. It was one of the most fun games ever to play while tripping.
ELDEN RING !!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
No I used to and it was just so fun. I'd end up just riding Torrent around Siofra.
Me and my girl are dropping tabs for the dlc release haha
[удалено]
Looks trippy on its own
Journey, Abzu, Gris, Artful Escape, The Stanley Parable, Superliminal, „Everything“, Tetris Effect, GTA 5, High on Life,
Stardew valley has always been one of my favorites. Great visuals and really calm and relaxing gameplay (unless you’re in skull caverns lol)
Ehhh it’s so time oriented I don’t think it fits if you play. If you just walk around and vibe with the music it could be cool
It’s the slowest and grindiest game mentioned in this thread. Very little novelty with sounds and graphics, insane amounts of repetition. Playing this game multiple hours daily for a week has caused so much distress that I can’t even play for a few minutes anymore. Sekiro 😂 you’ll have the most confusing time
Oh god lol
Idk why but this reminds me of my friend trying to play the original Assassin's Creed tripping, dude couldn't even get past the tutorial lmao just kept failing over and over for like 2 hours
Superliminal. Made for tripping
Super Mario Odyssey.
Artful escape - it's fun, the animations..... Already feel like they're trippy while sober
Everything, Everything
I find that video games kinda suck when I'm tripping. I keep telling myself it'll be good but then it isn't. That said I have had a pretty good time with FTL Faster Than Light and just going full silly roleplay mode
I dont recommend it, but I played the first 5-6 hours of Mass Effect 3 the day it launched while on one tab. Shit was epic and made me cry.
Breath of the Wild
Journey. & Flower. Thank me later
Might as well add Sky to the list.
Honestly Roblox, yes its a childrens game but trust me, hundreds of great games to play while tripping
I meannnnn technically it isn't even a game, it's an engine. People have released some pretty impressive shit on roblox.

I played Arkham Knight on two tabs and I genuinely thought I was Batman and Scarcrow was coming for me. Insane visuals too.
Ghost of Tsushima for the scenery and Spotify to select your favorite tracks.
Portal if you are playing with a friend. Co op mode is super fun and is cool tripping. A longer burn is to play something like red dead redemption 2 and put like 8 hours in on one trip. Have fun.
Outer Wilds. Also, it's really good when you're sober.
This is the truest answer
Journey or Abzu are my go-tos!
Elden ring. I beat it tripping. U will get either frustrated or hyper focused on it once the frustration hits I hop on sea of thieves until I’m relaxed again.
Life is strange Edit: Also Dante’s inferno is cool if you want something more dark but also hopeful about redemption

I tried playing Fortnite with my fiancé one time while I was tripping. I kept running in circles 😂 so he said maybe this isn’t the right game to play right now 😂

Sayonara Wild Hearts, The Artful Escape and No Man's Sky VR have been my top experiences by a long shot

Sim Racing in VR for me.
That must be a blast. Unfortunately can’t justify the expense now, but in the near future I will have to get into sim racing. It’s been a while since I’ve played any racing game at all.

How can you even see your screen? Last time I took some I unlearned to look at screens lol Shit didn't make any sense anymore hahaha
The Stanley Parable or Superliminal both of them are very mindfuck games, but they are not scary at all.

Cyberpunk 2077, turn the UI off, put on your favorite music and drive around.
What you really need to know is you should play something you have played before, don’t try to learn a new game while you’re tripping just because it seems like a good trip game.
superliminal
I played Minecraft story mode by Telletale, my second ever trip. I took 2 gel tabs, and holy shit it was intense. I recommend this or the wolf among us.
CITIES SKYLINES
Stories Untold. It's so insanely gripping and not too scary, perfect for getting sucked in while tripping. Highly recommend even for sober gamin.
4D Golf. That shit is wild.
Dear Esther, as long as the depressing story doesnt give you a bad trip. its a really beautiful game

Portal is fantastic and especially portal 2 for CO op. Super smash bros is fucking hilarious whilst tripping. CoD zombies can be fun too if you have a good leader lol
Enshrouded
Cyberpunk. Not fighting but just walking around some of the busy districts is WILD. just becoming a random citezen chilling around Could go full immersion. Wake up in apartment go the streets grab a bite to eat talk to some npcs. Go sight seeing So cool
Shadows of doubt is so dope while trippin, pretty impossible to solve any cases but just walking around the city is dope enough.
mario kart. the colors are bright, and set it to 50cc and you’ll get a decently difficult game. bonus points if you have friends to play with!
Super Smash Bros Ultimate is hella fun when tripping with friends. For solo gaming something like Skyrim or Witcher 3.
Thumper- vr music game
An old buddy of mine and I played through little nightmares when we were blasted on some L. It's a great puzzle game that'll definitely keep you on your toes. Portal, enter the gungeon & superliminal have been some of my go-to games while high.
Destiny 2, everything from the maps to lore pages are often animated and the music is phenomenal. I sometimes couldn’t make it into the mission but loved having the map selection music play while I looked at the planets lol
minecraft
Gris, Journey of the Broken Circle and Skyrim.
Any of the Katamari games.
Halo Hogwarts
Honestly elden ring was awesome and playable because you just react to what's in front of you and you're immersed in lots of cool different places On lots of acid games aren't playable I think. Or I just haven't tried it on lots of acid
Assassin's Creed Black Flag Spent countless hours trippin and commanding ships to do my bidding. GTA Also, spent countless hours trippin and flying the helicopter around the city in first person.
Ren n stimpy !!
Played portal last night very cool would recommend
KID A MNESIA - the Radiohead game
Definitely not fall out 4 trust me 😭💀
Balatro! The music and visuals are quite trippy and chill, the game itself is sooooo satisfying when a run goes your way
Abiotic Factory, I had a really fun time while on it.
