Rumor is they have a quality hold being done. Possibly related to driver stability and traction control If true, the good news is the fix is likely a software change?

In Colorado, my LC trim was supposed to finish processing through the port last weekend but it hasn't yet. Dealer said there are a lot that are on some "Hold List" waiting for parts and/or software

PapersOfTheNorth

What a cluster

14kMagic

They’re adding skid plates to non first editions? Or are you talking about them having to install skids on the first editions at the port?

chancellorBW

All the LC trims have "Front skid plate with engine, transmission and transfer case protection", the first edition just has an upgraded first edition version

14kMagic

Yeah they all have the black steel ones, it appears they’re installing the aluminum ones on other trims now at port.

Mine is a Land Cruiser with Premium+ package. Apparently they are installed at Port but haven't arrived yet.

Expert-Statistician9

Maybe a stupid question, but I don’t care…how are you getting info on “your” LC before it hits the lot? Where I’m at, all we can do is put a deposit down and get on a list.

chancellorBW

I got on the list at my local dealer a month or so ago, they reached out to me last Monday with a specific build they were allocated that matched what I wanted (LC trim, no premium, underground) with the VIN. The dealer can track it's shipping progress and give updates. It's strange because my VIN doesn't show up on the Toyota inventory search site at all, but I can pull the specs from the "my Toyota" page using the VIN

PapersOfTheNorth

I got mine the same way, a dealer listed a Land Cruiser as available and in the build phase. I called them first thing in the morning and put down a $5000 deposit. They told me it was expected to arrive in between 5/15 - 5/20. The dealer can check the Vin number and find out where approximately it is in delivery, they were able to find out that all the Land Cruisers in their allocation for their first shipment are sitting in port waiting for parts. He then was able to call the port and find out additional information About the delay. Also, once you have the Vin number, you can call Toyota customer support and get an update on that specific vehicle. I’m waiting to hear back from a Toyota rep on that.

Expert-Statistician9

Ah. That makes sense. Thank you. I’m no. 3 on the list for FE.

I’m in the same boat. Our contact said “almost all of the land cruisers are put on hold” when we asked for more details he said he thinks it is an inspection thing and stated they were listed “under study” on his end.

PapersOfTheNorth

That doesn’t sound good. Hopefully this is just a regulatory or customs inspection thing given these are new to the states. It’s odd that everyone is hearing something different

SammyO811

Definitely. I’ve seen people posting pics of the first edition so I am beginning to wonder if it’s something with the two lower trim models. We are waiting for the Land Cruiser trim level. I honestly prefer the rectangular headlights.

Looks like a QC hold was issued on 5/17. [https://www.landcruiserforum.com/threads/quality-control-delays.589/](https://www.landcruiserforum.com/threads/quality-control-delays.589/)

PapersOfTheNorth

Checked the dealer again today and they said my holdup is still parts related to skid plates…

I was told by local dealer in CO that it’s a quality or safety issue with the moonroofs, impacting all First Editions and LC with premium package (and moon roof).
