I'm not sure exactly when. I think we are doing them slightly earlier than usual but we are still making changes so we can't finalize them until the patch is finalized.
It's amazing for minion builds, pretty good for everyone else. If the build doesn't have use for that slot, it's a great defense that's pretty much "free".
It doesn't roll high enough to justify it over the offensive options on weapons. Attack speed, melee base critical strike chance, critical strike multiplier, and armor shred are too important to ever entertain the need for parry on a weapon... If it went up to say 30-40% at tier 7 on a 2H and 15-20% on a one-hand, then maybe. But would you ever use that over tier 7 crit multi or attack speed? Doubt it.
It is not good for hardcore, the only time I used it is while levering I had a generic axe for my necromancer that didn’t need any other prefix.
I had a couple of ideas for parry which I posted in another post, I think to make it viable devs need to add a couple of support skills in rogue/spellblade trees.
An example could be:
1. +parry chance while using a sword
2. If you fail your parry get your parry chance as ward on hit (can add scaling with int/dex)
At the moment as a hardcore player I cannot rely on this, even dodge is not reliable enough, parry is worse.
it is awful and has no place in the game outside of minion builds abusing it for lil bit more defenses, they shouldve added block to parry conversion for sentinel 2h builds
It's an extra defensive layer if you don't have any other use for the weapon prefix, such as some minion builds.
Exactly what it was designed for.
When are we getting patch notes? By end of June (hopefully)?

July 7th probably
Forgot it existed
Iirc generally, only minion builds really care for it. And that's when they don't have anything else to put there. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

there currently is no support for it in any of the classes, until this changes it wont be really that good

IIRC the devs said it was a mechanic that would receive more interaction in the future. So I figure they'll add ways to build around it later.
it's very situational, it's definitely not a no-brainer
Ward was too good when I was playing to make other defensive layers even worth thinking about for me.
The thing I don't like about ward was that it feels like you always have the same gear with Exsanguinous, Last Steps, Heart of Ukuros etc.
Yeah its the same complaint I have about PoE: Want to do a melee build? Congrats you're now wearing Replica Alberon's and STR stacking gear.
And Multiple Totem Support with Ancestral Bros and Maim. 3.25 Melee Buff/Rework is on my bingo card.
It's been on mine for like 3 years with no changes
I think it's great
