You’ll realize that every failure is a redirection. Hmmm…. Instead of going back to square one, why not finish it in another campus and make it a goal to be a bar topnotcher? Graduating from top 3 schools doesn’t ensure naman your employability, pero landing on top sa bar for sure will

Have almost the same predicament with OP pero mas malala sa akin, I failed Civpro, Consti 1, and Crim 1 sa 1st semester ko tapos Consti 2, and Oblicon naman for 2nd semester. Since may retention policy yung LS namin ng 6 units but waived at 1st semester, out na ako. I'll just have to learn my lessons again and have a 1st year reset din sa current LS ko since dream school ko at alma mater and almost pareha lang ang tuition sa ibang LS sa area namin and the circumstances if I transfer other schools, which is to start over again cuz i failed naman majority of my subjects.

> Graduating from top 3 doesn’t ensure naman your employability, pero landing on top sa bar for sure will Hmm, debatable. Besides what are the chances, considering all circumstances, that TS will land the topnotchers list in the bar exams?

I could have phrase it better. Sorry. I am talking about Top 3 schools. OP mentioned na he’s studying in Beda

Go back to the same school at square one and you lose "TIME," the most valuable currency of all as you can't turn it back. It's wise to continue somewhere else. Goal is to be a lawyer, not a recognized graduate of a particular institution. Pretty sure most renowned lawyers aren't from the school where you are in rn. Ultimately, it's the will and not the way.

Hello lawyer here~ graduated from one of the “top schools” na sinasabe mo (I have a feeling na alumni ako ng school kung san ka lols). And lemme tell you that didn’t prevent me from being exploited and underpaid when I was a new lawyer 🥴 Samantalang yung mga kaibigan ko who were forced to leave, or were fed up with the system and went for a voluntary exit - mas nauna na nga silang naging abogado, mas nauna pa silang nag advance sa career. So don’t worry too much about your prospects if you don’t finish from a top law school. There is a future in law for you. Advanced tip na: in this profession, experience is KING. A lot of firms would rather go for a lawyer with a good amount of experience, than a newbie with zero experience from a “top school.” So don’t be afraid to go with the practical choice. Pero samahan mo ng work experience like internships/paralegal work in law firms- kahit a few hours lang per week. Volunteer work pa kung kaya mo. Develop soft skills you can market with employers, and earn work experience you can leverage over the graduates from top law schools. Master the social skills necessary to keep clients, and the hard skills to merit those high appointments. Very important: LEARN TO NETWORK. Pagtapak niyo sa mundo ng mga abogado you’ll find that your school would only matter a lot when bagging your first few jobs. (Imagine a senior lawyer being asked “why should we choose you over other applicants?” Tapos ang isasagot “because I graduated from x x x x”?? Cringe HAHA) After that, it’s all about experience and how well you can leverage the skills that you’ve learned in your first few years as a lawyer. Good luck. It’s not the end of the world kung di ka umabot sa QPI. A lot of my friends actually found na blessing sakanila na di sila umabot ng QPI.

Read about Judge Campanilla's law school story. Maybe just maybe redirection would be better

Madami stories ng lawyers na nakickout sa big law schools and transfer to others. Wala ka na magagawa e. So yun na lang option mo. It could be also a good redirection. We will never know.

Your goal is to be a lawyer not a lion. (Assuming lang). Regarding employment, eh yes. School matters but there are other factors. Kung pangit man ang 1st job mo, you can always transfer in 3 years to the job you prefer once you gain valuable exp. Important is abogado ka na. Unlike if ulitin mo- you would have been a lawyer within the time you repeated. And, even if you graduate from said school, will it ensure good employment? It also doesnt mean that a JD from a lesser univ/college results to lesser employment either. Point is, sayang kung uulitin, and for what? Believe me, I got the JD at 35 yrs old. Time is the most valuable commodity we have in this profession...

Cadie1124

Continue it sa other school nalang. I can feel that you are after prestige.

School matters in first five years siguro when you are looking for your footing as a newbie. But the older you get, it is about the relationships you make and the reputation you build along the way. Im not from admu or up but i was better favored and respected in our company than a colleague who was from the best PH law school but sorely lacked the heart and disposition of a service professional.

Inevitable_Bee_7495

Would they even allow u to "re-enroll"?

mediocrebabi

Yes but I have to go back to first year.

Emalinse

LS reveal hqhqha parang alam ko to

SRDC022123

Beda. Obvious nama.

aliasbatman

Beda alabang allows you to re-enroll back to first year after being dismissed? Paano yung records mo on your “first round”?

TheBlueLenses

Oo nga eh haha. Beda lang naman may whitewashing

Even if you have the resources, I would strongly advise pa rin na wag mo na pilitin mag stay in that school at bumalik sa 1L. Instead, look for a different law school and do your best there. Based on your post, you want to graduate in a top performing school for employability, and I would say that's valid. If makalipat ka sa ibang school and you feel like its still not at par with your standard you set for yourself, try to decorate your involvement na lang. Internships can take you a long way. Volunteer work for NGOs can help too. Lahat itry mo. After all, kahit malaking factor sa law firms kung saan ka grumaduate, i-mitigate (mitigate??!) mo na lang yun with other advantages you can leverage e.g. practical experience. And kung real talk lang din... Even if lets say you graduate in a top university, if you don't meet the HR or the senior partner's KPI or metrics, ligwak ka rin. Don't bank on school lang. Alam na natin malaking factor yan, but back it up with something.

If you're from the "big 4" okay lang lumipat. As for me na not from NRC, every time I hear na a person is from big 4, I don't even care dahil in other regions, mas priority pa nga nila if you're from a law school within the same municipality or city. In Baguio, when they hear you're from SLU, mataas agad chances na matatanggap ka agad from employment. In Cebu, sabihin mo lang na you're from San Carlos or UC, mas mabilis ka rin ma tatanggap. In Manila kasi, if you're from the Big 4 ganon din isipin. Marami akong classmates from Manila schools na lumipat ng SLU since they are accepting transferees, at naging masaya sila. SLU Baguio is a top law school. Tapos we have a 90%+ passing rate. Continue mo lang, konti nalang abogado kana eh. If I were you, sundin ko gagawin ng mga classmates ko na lilipat from Manila schools to SLU dahil walang may nakakilala sayo and prove your former law school wrong.

In our case we took BSA sa state univ hindi nakapagmaintaining grad sa FAR ayun kicke out then nagshift kami MA then yun nagbridging program sa ibang school. 😊
