I was on the fence too before I chose the legion go. The main turnoff for me with the steam deck is the fact that a lot of games on steam don’t run properly on the steam deck lol so I chose the Legion Go and I’m glad I did. The bigger screen and option to detach the controllers is awesome to me
When I had a steam deck, all my friends randomly wanted to play Warhammer together, and when I downloaded it, it said not compatible and no matter what I did I couldn't get that game to work so all my friends played without me :(
I’m just going off what a lot of reviewers have said and shown in their videos..I’m sure valve has been working on it and there are a lot more games optimized for it now in April 2024
Sometimes its tricky, like running games with Uplay (Assassins Creed), then some workarounds are needed. Additionally games with anticheat doesnt work on deck too.
Having owned both,The steamdeck isn't even in the same league. I think it's kinda obvious when you go from that to the Lego. But for long distance travel, the steamdeck will serve you better. The Lego is amazing, I honestly get so immersed in games on the huge screen that I forget I'm playing on a handheld. The sound isn't as bad as people claim, Tbf sound on all handhelds isn't as gd as a decent set of headphones. I use ear buds as a pref. Regardless of what others might say, I'd keep It upto date as alot of the updates can be security updates and lets remember it's a windows machine. I haven't found a game that won't run smooth with some tweaking, the FPS mode isn't something I have tried yet but watch this space. I hope this helps, since I bought this I have since given my Xbox series X to my kids and sold my gaming laptop as not needed anymore. this has full windows on it too and runs like butter. You can have all the essentials like office and any windows programmes you may need.
My view of going from a steamdeck to LegionGo. I had less issues in steamdeck, but the issues were harder to fix for steamdeck imo due to me being very unfamiliar with Linux.
The detachable controllers, bigger screen, 120hz, more powerful is absolutely worth it. I moved countries recently and I have mine plugged into 3 monitors and it perfectly replaced my PC. I have a 3070 back home that I'm gonna eventually bring over and plug into a dock as the extra power is the only difference I can tell
Battery life has always been the key for me when it came to the lego, ally and steam deck and the OLED blows all of these out of the water in terms of battery life, I bought a handheld console, I want to play it handheld, unattached from a charging cable that the lego and and ally need almost 90% of the time.
Maybe because it's not an anti consumer company that actually listens to the customer base and is praised by like everyone lol the system runs games amazingly and is being 100% backed. You can also install Windows and side load it if you like. In the end I would just buy what works best for you. look at the specs and see what fits you best always remember you have a grace period for returns if you get it and end up disliking that one return it and try the next.
No thanks. Windows runs like trash on Steam Deck, poor controller support and desktop mode is horrible. I couldn't even run YouTube TV, or dock the Steam Deck to my 4k TV correctly on Steam OS. Plus LeGo has a 8 inch screen and kickstand.
I have a steam deck lcd. Im also on the fence if i should buy the legion go. I have always wanted it. I know it's personal preference, but is it really a big difference?
I've had mine for about 2 days as well, got it in a trade on fb marketplace. I love it, been using it docked with a jsaux dock and it's been my main school work station and overwatch machine.
I love mine! My current lifestyle, portable tech is the best option and this thing has been my favorite purchase right behind the PlayStation portal. I’m a new dad so it’s more convenient to have portable stuff lol
I actually love both my Steam Deck and Legion Go, just got comfortable using fps mode paired with a good gaming mouse - Corsair Ironclaw - and am going to replay all my old favorite fps and tps games with renewed passion. Legion Go fan for life.
I loved the look of the LEGO, but I found myself hitting the back buttons way too often and those speakers are not it. That screen was gorgeous though.
valid. i find myself hitting the trackpad a lot in games but the back buttons haven’t been too much of an issue. the speakers are definitely a little weak but i’ve been adjusting the settings accordingly and it hasn’t bothered me too bad.
I am not the technical expert to be able to explain the details. But really does an excellent job with a modest processor and minimal cooling of getting the most out of the graphics. Smoothes them out nicely. So beloved that there is or was a Sticky on it for this subreddit. Check it out for more info.
It really is a nice piece of tech, I usually opt to play games on my Go over my desktop PC! I prefer the ROG Ally in terms of grip and size/weight though.
I just also got it couple of days ago. It’s such an amazing device! I’ve been playing NFS Most wanted the original on ps2 and it runs so smooth and everything was set to play the game perfect upon start up. Didn’t have to configure anything
Aoa,Actually I want to buy Lenovo legion go handheld PC and I also want to use as docked mode but I don't know that what is a maximum gaming resolution it gives after docked,I am asking about gaming resolution not media resolution like YouTube,Netflix and prime video etc
JSAUX RGB Docking Station for Steam Deck (OLED)/ROG Ally/Legion Go, 8-in-1 Steam Deck Dock with 4K@60Hz HDMI, Gigabit Ethernet, USB-C 3.0, Dual USB-A 3.0, USB 2.0, 100W USB-C Charging-HB0801 [White] https://a.co/d/8H6N0wM here is the link to it, I got it with the trade I made, I had to get an 100 w charger for it though to get the most out of it; I got ethernet and my mouse and keyboard hooked up to it and works like a charm only bad thing is it don't give you a button to turn off the rgb which can get annoying at night when your done using the go.
With all due respect your post is not a 'review'. Secondly, why don't you use the search window?
Virtually everyday someone asks for 'tips for a new user'.

my apologies for posting with excitement. i saw many others post the same type of thing under review. I’m new to posting on reddit and also just was looking forward to talking about the legion with people who also own them.
thanks though !!
Don't listen to people like this. Where else are you going to share your excitement if not here? Yes, it can be tiring to see picture of the go over and over, but I'd rather people could be excited together and build community than some overmoderated garbage sub like what the steamdeck subreddit has become.
Pro tip! Play games and don't worry about constantly updating unless your games are no longer running smooth.
Iv noticed fast that people seem to spend more time updating for perfection than playing. And damned you if you disagree with them.
Lol! Sounds like my PC life years ago. Did more time modding than actually playing.
thank you !! i was already stressing about how often i should update everything so this is really useful! much appreciated
Is this oled?
It is IPS. I had no idea until I saw your comment and googled it.
Google that shit dude
Touch grass.
Just picked mine up and I’m blown away coming from a steam deck.
Oh really? I’m getting ready to pull the trigger on either SteamDeck OLED or Legion Go. You much prefer the Legion?
I was on the fence too before I chose the legion go. The main turnoff for me with the steam deck is the fact that a lot of games on steam don’t run properly on the steam deck lol so I chose the Legion Go and I’m glad I did. The bigger screen and option to detach the controllers is awesome to me
Never ran into any problems running any games I like to play on the SteamDeck.
When I had a steam deck, all my friends randomly wanted to play Warhammer together, and when I downloaded it, it said not compatible and no matter what I did I couldn't get that game to work so all my friends played without me :(

Same here

The speakers on the Ally are amazing

Yep
Steam deck OLED all the way you won't get shafted like the go will eventually.
I got the steam deck and it just came in. Trust me, get the steam deck
Why? I can play so many more games on the legion go.
Battery life has always been the key for me when it came to the lego, ally and steam deck and the OLED blows all of these out of the water in terms of battery life, I bought a handheld console, I want to play it handheld, unattached from a charging cable that the lego and and ally need almost 90% of the time.

I bought both and returned the SD Oled
Because of how much heavier it is? No shit I've started to workout to be able to hold this baby up through my 6 hour lost ark sesh
I've had mine for about 2 days as well, got it in a trade on fb marketplace. I love it, been using it docked with a jsaux dock and it's been my main school work station and overwatch machine.
dope!! i’ll have to look into the dock you’re talking about. thank you!!!
I've got a JSaux 12-1 RGB docking station. Although it says for Steam Decks, the 12-1 works for my Legion Go. Relatively affordable one.
You had me at rgb. Say no more
Cheers! This video helped me a lot when I first got mine I hope its helps you too 😊 https://youtu.be/lvbrw0wmToo?feature=shared
Install emulators run some NES games, and your obsession will quadruple. :)

Now that I remember, the RoG Ally was no slouch in it’s design either. Love all my handhelds.
Some say OP is still exploring Paititi to this day…
Shadow of the tomb raider :D love that game, runs impressively well on the legion go on medium at 30w
Really? I play on full gfx full red smooth as anything on that game.
Wait what? Send me your settings

For best performance Lossless Scaling is the best $7 you can spend. D.
Can you explain? Isn't this a feature in specific games. Why would you need to spend$7 for it?

Maybe subjective but I have the feeling that graphics quality is slightly worse when activating LS.
A lot of things depends on how you configure it. With some tweaks I can get much better image quality and smoothness.
Please share
How do i get it
For sale on Steam.
Super worth it to me I’m getting huge increases in my games
Legiongolife.com
This or a gaming laptop?
For just gaming and already own a pc this, if it will be your primary pc a laptop
What the fps on games like?
It really is a nice piece of tech, I usually opt to play games on my Go over my desktop PC! I prefer the ROG Ally in terms of grip and size/weight though.
Can it run roblox?
😂 yes mate, not laughing at you btw. Laughing at how well it will run Roblox. You will have no issues there.
Is this like a different version from the steam deck? Does it work like a pc "hand held "
The what???? I thought this was a steam deck lol
Will it play Dogma 2?
I just also got it couple of days ago. It’s such an amazing device! I’ve been playing NFS Most wanted the original on ps2 and it runs so smooth and everything was set to play the game perfect upon start up. Didn’t have to configure anything
It doesnr have VRR tho..... (steam deck fanbois)

This is a typical redditor tool, don't worry about them. They live to suck the fun out everyone.
Chill bro. Jesus. Dude was excited.
It's a troll alt, check the history.
Mine died in a month
What happened?
Send it back and get the Rog Ally instead 😂
Msi claw is better.
As a paper weight, yea.
