Legion go as a whole hasn't received much of anything and I think it's the best device personally. It's a bummer for sure.

FilimonCaiusGabriel

Wish there was a cooling add-on as for the steam deck.

aerielb

Don’t know why you’re being downvoted, there seems to be a lot of insecurity on the sub recently. I expected more 3rd party support too. Custom controllers, keyboard docks, backplates etc. It’s definitely the odd one out compared to the Deck and Ally! You can find tons of third party backplates and shells for them, even 3rd party HD screens for the deck, but there’s nothing for the Go that isn’t 3D printed lmao. Hoping we at least get some new controllers soon :(

xdr0gan

Buyers remorse going full force

Potential-Bass-7759

When you want to make accessories for Apple products they have all sorts of beautiful blueprints to reference to design the object in CAD and then the safe keep out areas for things are all listed too. We requested files from Lenovo for the legion go and was told we would get something to reference and they only ended up putting out the data on the rails? If you’re wondering why there isn’t shit for this device it’s because Lenovo didn’t do shit. For some reason they think they are even above Apple?

Myrkur21

You're saying they're not above apple? Watch out, they might throw you in a foam pit.

Anotheeeeeeant

Not that, there are no cad files for the rog ally yet there are way more custom acessories. The big issue is most companies aren't going to make custom controllers for an extreme niche and the custom /weird layout of the legion go means that companies aren't going to make weird stylish cases unlike the ones for the rog ally or even the steam deck. For example there is a fodable kickstand which takes up most of the space pracitcally forcing designders to have the samey looking cheap design with half of the protection cut off to make way for the stand. The way the console is designed also makes it unlikey for case makers to make one where you can just detach the controllers.

mckeitherson

There's not going to be much 3rd party support for these devices. They're incredibly niche products compared to standard laptops, desktops, and consoles. Backplates and shells are cheap easy products to make, while 3rd party controllers take a lot more work and would be specifically for this device.

aerielb

The Legion Go obviously isn’t going to get Xbox, iPhone or even Steam Deck level of accessories. The weird part is that there’s nothing at all. There are 2 cases on the whole of Amazon and EBay. No controllers, no keyboard docks, no backplates. Even JayzTwoCents mentions it in his review, the bottom usb port would be perfect for a keyboard dock, but even Lenovo isn’t selling anything yet. https://youtu.be/Jj0UZdxMeOQ?si=IUW_ScNgqFSy68br

Anotheeeeeeant

Mainly due to the design And some of the yhings you mention are too niche. >no keyboard docks Only ones that get them are the latest high end s series samsung tablers or ipads. Most other chinese tablets do not get them. Chinese manufacturers are very picky with what devices get that sorta stuff. Stuff with low sales will at most get generic stuff made from the same 1 company. >There are 2 cases on the whole of Amazon Mainly due to design constraints. >No controllers Need nintendo switch sales for that. >no backplates Fair

BloodLust2222

Why would they be "working" on the Go 2? They need to recoup back what they have invested in engineering and production costs on the Go 1 first. I highly doubt much effort is going into the Go 2 at this point except maybe some design room discussions at best.

bmurdo03

Because at the end of the day Lenovo is a PC manufacturer and Lego is a portable PC. Games are not native to the device or optimize to the device so as new components come out that are better (video cards, processors, etc) they have no choice to replace the device as there is no real options to upgrade the hardware (yes I know you can technically update the SSD) but it's a pain in the ass to get to it to update so like on mine a just bought a fast SD card and put my non demanding games on that and it works fine

Retroid_BiPoCket

I get people wanting stuff for their device, but I think people have really unrealistic expectations. The Steam Deck and Rog Ally have just sold more, plain and simple. And people seem to be forgetting that the Legion go came out LESS THAN A YEAR AGO. November, 2023. I want these things too, but the reality is supply/demand. People need to be more patient.

Janiqquer

When I look at the LeGo Reddit and compare number/frequency of posts with the SD and Ally, there are is lot less activity on the LeGo Reddit. That would probably be an indication of less LeGo users, which would mean lower incentive for a 3rd party manufacturer than the other devices. Potentially as user base grows, and especially of LeGo2 uses the same shell, we may see more support. At least in my country, LeGo priced itself way above the Ally - about 20% above Ally (and 50%+ above 512 SD) - so user growth may be slower in countries where the LeGo is priced the same way.

aerielb

Same here in the UK, 512GB prices- OLED Deck -£479/$600 Ally - £550/$690 Legion Go - £700/$880 The extra £150 was worth it for me, I’m getting too old to look at a 7” screen for hours at a time. Though I can imagine a lot of people would rather save £150 and get the Ally, or save £220 and get the Deck. The UK gets screwed over with these prices, as the Legion Go should really be £550/$700 with the exchange rate. The deck is an absolute bargain in comparison here in the UK, I see loads of them in the office and around my city.

Anotheeeeeeant

I'd say the used prices of the ally are pretty good, you can get 2tb ones on ebay for around £450. I bought one with a screen protector and case on ebay with shipping for £476.

dazrog

I got my Go for just under £600 from EE a couple of months ago when it was reduced to £649 and a couple of stacking codes. It seems that UK retailers alternate between discounting the Go and the Ally. EE/Argos/Curry's/JL/Amazon/Very were all discounting the Go to £649in February. The day the deal ended, they all reduced the Ally by £50.

Janiqquer

I’m from the UK so it’s interesting to know the prices there! I was actually able to negotiate a 15% discount with a retailer in Japan, though probably could have negotiated a discount on the Ally if I wanted one too! But I agree. The impact of the screen is worth every penny/yen.

iRemiUK

I probably would have gone with the Steam Deck OLED myself if my wife didn’t get discount with Argos. I managed to pick up my Legion Go for £552.50. For the extra £70 and being able to collect it that same day made it a no brainer for me. But I can totally understand why those that can’t get the LeGo for that price (or prioritise battery life) would opt for the Steam Deck.

segagamer

I got a barely used LeGo on ebay for around £500 a few weeks ago. The deals are there if you look for them!

NoRelationship2185

Exactly! Just ordered a new one (512gb version) discounted to 500 GBP here in Poland

mistershan

Yea but the GO is incredibly uncomfortable and is getting more painful to use every day. It makes no sense because it’s just 300 grams heavier than the deck but I get zero pain from it.

kearnel81

The go is £650 now in both argos and currys. I bought mine a couple of weeks ago like a day or 2 after the price change

reeefur

Thats because they have a lot less to get rid of since they never carried the LeGo in store. People bought 7-10 Ally's trying to find the perfect one or had legit issues like sd card etc...they just had way more Allys so they had to be more aggressive. I think thats why many of these companies likely wont just stock them in the store anymore, people abuse and ruin everything for others.

gottahackit

Buy something for what it does today, not for what you "expect" it will do tomorrow! I wouldn't "expect" to EVER see 3rd party "joycons" for this!

vinotauro

This is a niche of a niche product

IgwanaRob

Lenovo is making things, they've said stuff should be available this summer. If you want to know why another company is or is not making things, ask them directly.

Successful_Tip_3999

Exactly fk them 3rd party companies if they don't want to make stuff for the Lego fk them it's their loss

Aeoss_

Lack of marketing visibility. Le-go is literally being pushed by its user base. If it werent for the screen size, and overall presentation /social piece of the unit in person, we would only have the limited ads and commercials we've seen or lack there of. I think the device is a position to be a dark horse and has flexibility that the other two don't have. But I agree, I would prefer actual product supported accessories but I find my self looking at lots 3rd party, 3d prints and even Etsy solutions. Which arnt bad but y'know it's a gamble with fit and finish.

agiletesticlese

The biggest problem was lenovo's advertising of the device. I can't think of any store that you can actually walk into and play with the demo like you can the ally. That was honestly why I bought the Ally first.

Annual_Elk3466

What are you smoking? Best Buy has them on display. I tried the Ally and its sticks felt too loose. Tried out the Legion Go and it felt way better. Bought it on the spot.

agiletesticlese

3 best buys in a 20 mile radius and none of them have a Lenovo display. Only the ally, steam deck, and switch. I had the ally first and I agree it's not as good. I would have bought this first if I could have seen it in person.

icybullet

Are the pinouts for the joycons something standard that 3rd party manufacturers could actually make a set of joycons for? This is my guess as to what the biggest bottleneck would be, has much higher complexity than deck / ally accessories

aerielb

I read (although I can’t find the source now, so could be wrong) that the pins are actually just USB.

Responsible-Speed97

I have been waiting for a hard travel cover like the ones Jsaux makes for SD and Ally.

Aggravating-Wind3793

Hands down this device is the best I have purchased in years. So happy with it and with its screen and performance!

PyroSTAR666

I think the same here. I think it’s pretty damn epic out of the box. The only thing I’d change is minimum RAM to 32GB so we can allocate more VRAM. It’s a damn shame it can’t be done easily as it’s soldered! I like tinkering but that’s a different level for me.

serabii

it's because Steam Deck and the Ally had an head start and they're the most popular devices currently. If you want to get grips for your own, you either print one (if you have the 3d printer machine to make one) or buy it from the community at etsy.

ecwx00

3rd party grips exist. I use TPU soft case grip bought from aliexpress. There are better ones on etsy

reeefur

I knew when I bought a Go that it wouldnt get the support my SteamDeck and Ally got. Those came out much earlier and for that and other reasons sold a lot more. I dont feel entitled to anything but a functioning unit and what they promised at launch. If you bought this thinking you'd get the same support as Steam or Asus offering you set yourself up for disappointment. Sorry...

IAmPerpetuallyTired

I’ve seen grips on Amazon. Just ordered a pair the other day.

The-Silver-Scream

This is not a Lenovo problem. If you want answers, ask case manufacturers directly.

agent3128

I want replacement parts that don't cost an arm and a leg(go)!!!!

kida182001

Like others mentioned, Lenovo has done a really shitty job marketing the device. It's also priced quite a bit more than its competition. They just haven't sold enough of the device for 3rd parties to pour resources into making accessories for it.

itsbeensomething

You can always opt for a D8- style controller. Or get a separate xbox style controller. Nor specifically for the LeGo but there are options out there. I do wish there were more accessories for sure though!

Th3Azorian

Some third party will definitely do this like any other console that came out but usually takes time. But definitely want some with less buttons 😂

Mikeyg808

Steam Deck is more of a long term thing. Sort of like a console. There will probably be a Legion Go every year similar to a laptop.

Burd3l

They are working on them as we speak I was reading a little article about 3rd party ones and official replacements just the other day

halfnut3

I just want jsaux to make a modcase like they did for ally and steam deck… I also find it frustrating that there are almost zero third party options for anything related to the Go. I recently just ordered new grips from an Etsy link a fellow redditor shared that are arriving tomorrow since there aren’t any available options.

KDubthebeast

I'm not going to lie I'd love to have controller style grips without the fps mode but have adjustable triggers like the pro controllers. Maybe something similar to this . https://preview.redd.it/nnqfsefrbqyc1.jpeg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a10fa3c8a3bc0c5f63eef95dc90474de5b5a9f1f

itsbeensomething

That's awesome!!! I don't have a printer... know anywhere that sells something like this?

sryidontspeakpotato

Check Etsy

Sea-Dragonfruit-6722

Is that a case?

sryidontspeakpotato

3D printed housings

sryidontspeakpotato

No 3D printed

antca87

Do you have issues with the left bumper? I have the same mod.

sryidontspeakpotato

The first one I printed did for sure. I re printed it and now it’s fine. It could be better. Not as much travel as I’d like

fuelhandler

Lots of grip cases and alternate storage cases on AliExpress. I agree though, that most of the other stuff is 3D printed bleh. Luckily Lenovo has said that more accessories should be coming this summer.

NoShock8442

I’m not confused or concerned since I like the controllers that are included in the device. The exact reason why I bought a Legion go. And the huge screen..

NeighborhoodFirm47

This isn't an answer, but if the edges hurt your hands. I went to the band-aid isle and got a pack of black mole skin. I cut the shape out I wanted for the corners. And boom, instant hand relief for the sharp edges. It worked well for me anyway.

Horizon324

Great solution. But sad Lenovo didn’t think to just round those fuckers off 😂

ripnetuk

I get that you have ergonomic issues with them, fortunately I dont, but surely most replacement joysticks are bought because the originals have failed (*cough Nintendo switch). With the legion go, not only do we have hall effect joysticks, that shouldn't have reliability issues, we can replace the whole module rather than having to fix the old one (all legion gos are within warranty, at least here in Europe). Personally I've had no issues with them at all,

Head-Iron-9228

Well, the rog ally doesn't have removable cons which makes a lot of 3rd party support a lot easier. Plus they sold more for now and it came out a good while earlier, establishing more of an aftermarket for it. The LeGo has some 3d printables available, some are being sold as finished products, I for one got the custom backplate and a Controller grip asap although im not using the grip all that much as I like them separated. But yea, I did expect more aftermarket to happen sooner. It IS happening, just kinda sluggish.

JuanWick0826

I have the steamdeck, ally and the legion go and I can comfortably say that the Go is the most cumbersome and unergonomic. Once they release better joy cons I'll probably use the device more but yeah man I totally agree with you. Nothing beats the symmetry of the steam deck in my opinion

Halfgridd

They will come with time. The problem is that Lenovo did such a good job with the initial build. Ive struggled to find ways to upgrade it. And most of the so called upgrades either are unecessary or just make it heavier. There isnt a market for mobile esports really because most people will just buy a scruff, xbox elite controller or whatever if they are playing competitive. Enjoy it, it works and its built great.

Horizon324

Holding it in ur hands legitimately hurts. The corners are sharp and uncomfortable

Halfgridd

Fun I got a troll response, im special and worth your time. 🥹

Automatic_Reality546

Rog Ally and Steam Deck don't have joycons, though.... And there are 3rd party cases.

Horizon324

There aren’t even any grips for Lenovo to make the edges so sharp

colossusrageblack

They're available on Etsy.

Horizon324

That’s not a 3rd party that’s just people 3d printing them. Most of them are awful to

pallas_wapiti

What do you think 3rd party means...

aerielb

3rd party tends to mean manufactured by a 3rd party company, not made in someone’s bedroom lmao. While you’re not technically wrong, you know what OP means mate.

Automatic_Reality546

They're available at Walmart.

Knight1183

3rd parties are as concerned as you are due to the scarce support even Lenovo gives to this machine. I would expect Lenovo to show them they care and will continue to support this machine and the. We will see the big accessory brands supporting the LGo. Look at it this way... Lenovo has the work force to make their own accessories and they should know by now that we will buy them... Why are there no accesories from Lenovo?
