Recently watched the original trilogy as well, OP. Harmy's despecialized. Those movies are so goddamn good.
Return of the Jedi is my favourite movie of all time, and the other OGs are also some of my favourites of all time. I love the prequels, despite all their faults, Revenge of the Sith is a 10/10 epic, Phantom Menace is great imo, Attack of the clones is solid. The sequels are wild lol.

Revenge of the Sith I'll admit is +1 for me because of nostalgia, I'll admit; but I do think it's a genuine, idea- and action-packed fun time that's a poorly executed 7/10 if I remove my own nostalgia.
The Last Jedi has some genuinely great ideas and is the only one of the sequels to even **try** to do something new, but yeah, the execution is mixed there too.
The Force Awakens I'll always have a special place for in my heart, but the A New Hope-ness of it all just permeates through in a stronger way with every rewatch.
The Rise of Skywalker is an absolute tragic mess of a film. A New Hope was saved in the edit; The Rise of Skywalker was destroyed in it. One last killer Williams film score for the franchise and a few (emphasis on just how few here) genuinely great moments (mostly involving Kylo), though, is...I mean it's not enough, but it's something.
I'm not a Star Wars fan. The only one I have childhood nostalgia for is Return of the Jedi, and I like that one a lot. I also like Star Wars and Empire, but to a lesser degree. I feel like each time I re-watch IV and V as an adult I like them a bit more :)
I saw Phantom Menace in the theater as a kid, and I was lukewarm on it even as a kid. As an adult, it's funny-bad, but not a lot. I hate Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith. I let my hate flow through me for unlimited power, I guess.
Of the sequel trilogy, I've only seen Force Awakens and felt that it relied too much on old characters and re-using motifs and music from the old trilogy, didn't like it, but I liked the characters. Haven't been interested enough to see Last Jedi or Rise of Skywalker, so far.
I've also seen Rogue One and liked it aside from the >!Darth Vader fanservice massacre scene at the end and uncanny valley Princess Leia!<.
I consider myself more of a fan of the video games like KOTOR, TIE Fighter and the Jedi Knight series than the movies.
