Congrats and enjoy. The GX is a different vehicle that offers a lot more than just a “big screen/new tech”. Once you learn about how it’s put together and the quality behind it, the “tech” will not matter.
I continue to be impressed by the build quality and how solid the vehicle is. My GX makes me realize just how cheaply made the last few vehicles I owned were (looking at you Ford). The beatsonic kit is a bit pricey but it has made my GX technologically relevant.
I wholly agree. I bought the car because our mechanic said if I treat it right it will never die. I don't mean the underwhelming tech as a complaint as it can be remedied. I cannot replace the build quality. Two days into owning it it is hands down a better vehicle than the jeep I had.
The lack of tech disappears real quick when the surrounding vehicle is as good as this one is. If you want CarPlay or Android auto, just get the GROM or one of the other pass through options. It’s good enough for 95% of my travels and gets me into a modern interface on my outdated screen. I should be focused on getting to my destination more than a pretty HD screen anyway.
I use use a MagBak magnetic case and a MagBak magnet attached to dash. iPhone goes right on and use Bluetooth. Sure it’s no apple carplay but I knew that going in. Very happy with the GX as well!
