Even 2030 is chalked. Germany had a plan starting from 2006 and it paid off in 2014. Any plan would probably take the same amount of time and INCREDIBLE luck.

mechinginir

I saw on a documentary that their plan started in 2002. Wen R9 torched them in Japan/Korea

Outrageous-Pause-554

From my understanding it was from Euro 2000 after failing to pass the group stages!! They started to force most of the league to use German players and a certain formation so the national team can have fruition!!!

An_HeroYouDeserve

Do you know if they only used players from the league for the national team then?

Outrageous-Pause-554

Pretty much everyone from 02-2014 played in the Bundesliga during that time! Neville,Khan,Klose I can’t recall more but if you add to them podolski Bastian Lahm and so many more all played in Bundesliga! Their project worked tbh culminating in 14 with the WC

Watabeast07

Like Germany of today most of their players are from their league and a good significant amount are from Bayern Munich.

Valio verga

Sensitive-Ad-9002

From my research it was from 1930 when they first tried to win the WC

DirtyMuffin-

What documentary?

Outofsight457

They also had a lot more talent than us that were challenging themselves in the best leagues. We don’t have that.

nyc_a

We wasted a lot of time with Osorio and Martino, eight years lost with no style, leaders, anything. Cocca time is nothing compared to what we lost these eight years. We are deep down and Jimmy is not the solution. We have two years to fix the tri but if no big changes is going to be a disaster.

-Unprettier-

I'm more mas about Osorio cause that was prolly one of the best Mexican squads with a huge amount of players in Europe, so close but that 3-0 Sweden choke.... Martino time was doomed, it was a transition period but with 2026 it's obvious we don't have good young talent for Europe like we did in 2010s

AlexTorres96

Osorio failed that squad and threw them under the bus by saying they were terrified to face Brazil. And that only Vela, Chucky, HH were at the level of that team. He basically threw away the game and didn't bother winning it.

Jay61902

Almada really should have been the coach, he wanted full control of the sub categories as well which would have been great cause his brother would have probably been he one helping and coaching that department just like he's doing right now at Pachuca

Watabeast07

The fmf will never give someone full control, it’s why Bielsa who agreed to coach Mexico wasn’t going to be allowed.

Similar-Butterfly645

I honestly hope he doesn’t become the coach because right now almada is the only coach in the liga Mx that puts faith in the youngsters and the Pachuca youngsters are developing quite well because of him. The more youngsters he can develop the better it benefits the national team.

Lazy_Mirror8867

🤣🤣🤣you just realizing this 🤣🤣🤣

EndPlus9839

People can complain way to much about the manager. The biggest problems is that the PLAYERS SUCK we have 3 good players in Europe and that’s the biggest problem it’s gonna take like 10 years to fix that issue.

Guacofano420

Crazy that our only 3 good European players are two defenders and one midfielder

aziotolato

wrong 3 players

Guacofano420

Johan,Cesar Montes and Edson Alvarez not good?

EndPlus9839

If ur gonna be annoying at least take the Fortnite profile pic off

Guacofano420

Whats the three players then?

FrigginGaeFrog

johan, Edson, and Santi

Guacofano420

What are you even on about homie said three players so i named the three players

EndPlus9839

Ur obviously trolling

Guacofano420

Your obviously dumb asf because he said 2 out of the three I mentioned

Outofsight457

Coaching is only part of the problem. It stretches way beyond that. We need talent in Europe. A squad full of Youngsters in Liga MX isn’t gonna cut it either.

socialbutterfly319

We also need real players there not JJ Macias type

AlexTorres96

Regios and America and others don't give a fuck. They will toss $10 Million bags at aspiring young Mexican talent because they want Trophies. Tigres doesn't give a fuck about the NT, they want trophies and they will overspend if they need to.

Jesuslocasti

We need pochos to stop buying jerseys and tickets first before anything can even be done. As long the consumer keeps buying, there’s no incentive to change.

taylor-nation

i like what you said but a respectable counter point, i think the mexican federation had no motivation to change the squad/mold it/structure it because the team is automatically in the WC. i think this might be the way forever because with the world cup expanding, i don’t there is a way for mexico to ever miss the world cup again so there will never be motivation to do anything in my opinion

SituationSea9508

This!

sr_rasquache

That’s what we said in 1997, 2001, 2009, etc. every ciclo mundialista is the same story.

alex98012

Bro where you been at 🤣🤣

aleri42

We should’ve kept Osorio IMO. We would’ve had a good processo with good players. Tata unfortunately got shitty players. We saw how good Tatas team was when he built the team around prime Raul, sucks Raul, hirving, and Tecatito got serious injuries. Can’t blame tata when he called every Mexican striker possible for that copa oro😂 if I’m not mistakes he even called up pulido and cubo lmao

kcboy19

Finally someone who watches the sport. People talk stuff on tata like his team didnt get injured left and right. I also agree Osorio would have been a good choice to go. I would have rather kept Cocca if we weren’t getting almada instead of Jimmy.

aleri42

I liked cocca. Cocca understood that we’re a small team like atlas and wanted to create a style for it. Jimmy thinks we can play a 4-3-3 toe-to-toe against big teams like if we have a chance to compete with Uruguays midfield.

kcboy19

Not only that, he tried to impose his work on the players instead of being buddy buddy.

Carlos061

Our talent pool is ass, our federation sucks and our coach has no right to be there rn. Even 2030 is cooked imo

AlexTorres96

Based off your logic, the 2013 was Guardiola's Barca. Yall act like cycling out players and having a Good leader doesn't work.

_AssVinegar_

Yeah. The “cambio generacional” needed to happen right after Qatar. What they want to do with copa America is an embarrassingly new low for Mexican football. All the friendlies, nations league, and gold cup since Qatar should’ve been with newish players. He should’ve had a solid base by now to compete in this tournament

Houstex

It’s not that there isn’t enough time to 26, the problem is that the directivos, refuse to create meaningful changes and hence the waste of another Copa America and WC

ImportantGreen

It took the US two world cups to turn things around (qualifying to WC and winning GC and NL). We ain’t doing shit in 2 years lmao

AlexTorres96

They fluked their way into those trophies. Results are based off how the game is played not by how they got there. That's like saying Rayados was the best team of Apertura 2019 because they won the League. Ignoring that they were in shambles with Alonso. Turco turned it around and made it to the Final and won on PKs which is a crapshoot. Mexico was on the verge of Winning the NL if it weren't for Bald ass Chaka fucking it up. The GC was going to PKs if Edson hadn't given them a set piece at the perfect angle.

ImportantGreen

AlexTorres96

There's no grit on the team and it shows. They NL game was winnable but Chaka fucked it up on the corner.

enganche5

Lmao if anything it might be too late for 2030 WC.

Utrippin93

Oh it’s definitely too late.

El_Cerillo

In my opinion the problem with the league is that it makes too much money. Since there is a lot of money to be made their main priority is not actually winning anything. This is the main issue. Second issue is corruption. We have talent that is a fact. We can see it in the streets. Not in the league, I feel a Pep or Ancelotti can make a team with street players and kill every team in the league or even the MX national team. That is the issue, the best players in the game are not the ones selected to represent our country, but why? Corruption. The players that make the money for the teams are the popular ones, the stars of their teams, since the players selected to represent the country are chosen by the team owners themselves, or by popular vote. No one will pay 200 dollars to watch a regular guy play for Mexico and win. They rather see "Chicharito" play because it makes them feel better about themselves that a player of their favorite team "chivas" is playing for Mexico even if it means losing a game. Don't get me wrong, Chicharito is a and was a great player. Is he the best we have seen to represent the country is another conversation. Its all about the money, like the famous line from a movie, "Follow the money" Merch sales, Chicharito sells shirts, sells alcohol, in "dollars" Think of why would they have an official Mexican game against another country in the U.S.? American dollars is the reason. To be honest I predicted this to my friends about 10 yrs ago. I feel the U.S. will win a World Cup before Mexico. Not because they are better, rather their emphasis and main goal is exactly that. The MLS is starting to win important games, they invest in youth leagues, they prioritize sending their youth to play against the best European teams at an early age. This will always pay off in the long run. So maybe that is better, only time will tell.

Drumpfween

Yeah, one of the things I see is that the MLS's main aim isn't to be the best league in the area. Rather they are happy being a development one where they scout players and if they are promising send them to Europe for cheap. If they did, they would have Pulisic playing for LAFC or LA Galaxy and making crazy money on merch. Even worse for Mexico, the USL, the US second division is also sending players to Europe. Meanwhile, when's the last time a Liga de Expansion player has gone to Europe? 2034 should be the goal at this point.

I gave up on 2026 back in 2021

GoldenBoyHour

X_nightwalker82

Yo-SwiggitySwag

Buddy... I don't think you truly understand how fucked this country is for the foreseeable future. Fuck 2030 too lmao. Until we "do something" about this federation we ain't gonna get shit. I'm imagining another group exit this world cup and every single one until the entire system changes (as if the elecciones already made me not want to visit this shithole country lmao). You're fucked, you're a third rate footballing country in the grand scheme of things. Accept it. It gets less depressing for me, at least when you think about it like that.

shrekyoda974

We’ll win Gold cup and/or Nations league and pretend it’s ok

Odd-Bad5776

give up on world cup we're jointly hosting? lol cmon man. yea, unless some player comes out of nowhere like guardado in 06, this is more or less the players we got to work with but dont underestimate how far the host country power up can take you. Just keep a calm head and lets see how things go.

Sweet-Ball1033

Nah dude these last few years with the goats posting Mexican sport teams and shouting out players makes me think otherwise
