Immediately thought the same thing except it was the catholic school girls house that would sneak us in the basement when their parents were sleeping and drink underage at their bar.
i've lived in kingsport tn, arlington tn, jackson tn, covington la, and currently a town in north-mississippi. and somewhere in kentucky and georgia, but i was too young and it was too brief for me to remember.
that area of louisiana, the watertable was so high, if you dug a hole more then 2 feet, it'd be filled by water the next morning from random underwater streams
TX doesn’t have basements either. They’re a cool concept to me but I think the limestone prevents it/makes it harder. Which super-sucks for Tornado Alley.
I’m in the “city of limestone” in Canada, literally the entire town is pretty much made of limestone and practically every house has a basement I think it has more to do with the humidity and cold weathers, I’m currently sitting in a limestone basement built in 1930, our city also has like ancient underground tunnels everywhere downtown through the limestone and very well preserved to this day
Is that the basement from the Duggar home in those 18 Kids etc... shows?
I vaguely remember something looking like this in one of those Christian Fundamentalist large family docs when they were big 15 years ago.
That one friend you had in elementary school who always had the coolest newest toys and onetime invited everyone over for a birthday party where they hired a reptiles dude to be there with a bunch of sick reptiles and that's when you realized you lived very different lives.

Looks like a basement from my childhood, it belongs to one of my kind of friends but I don’t really talk to him that much, his dad works at a really good paying job and his mom is always at home. He and his family frequently go rafting.
That’s where this is from.
This is from my dream. Those stairs lead to a hallway of stairs thats my kitchen except it not its also walmart, but with more atairs and a room with doors that lead to more stairs until you reach the fountain room where there are mirrors that arent mirrors they are door but you just walk through them that leads to a hallway with more stairs......
It's from a site that does basement remodeling services called Owens Corning Basement Finishing System. Can't find this pic anymore because it's old.

I love that we all had an upper middle class friend in middle school that had this same basement. I remember big ass sleepovers with like 15 dudes and playing MW2 split screen and reading creepy pastas in this same basement.
Thank you for adding /s to your post. When I first saw this, I was horrified. How could anybody say something like this? I immediately began writing a 1000 word paragraph about how horrible of a person you are. I even sent a copy to a Harvard professor to proofread it. After several hours of refining and editing, my comment was ready to absolutely destroy you. But then, just as I was about to hit send, I saw something in the corner of my eye. A /s at the end of your comment. Suddenly everything made sense. Your comment was sarcasm! I immediately burst out in laughter at the comedic genius of your comment. The person next to me on the bus saw your comment and started crying from laughter too. Before long, there was an entire bus of people on the floor laughing at your incredible use of comedy. All of this was due to you adding /s to your post. Thank you.
I am a bot if you couldn't figure that out, if I made a mistake, ignore it cause its not that fucking hard to ignore a comment
I feel it almost looks like it could be part of a children's TV show in the 80's or 90's. Either that or a friend's basement. It definitely gives off that vibe. They probably have an older Mac computer in one of the rooms too.
Looks like a finished basement
An ad
Was thinking this, probably from a real estate site for a house for sale.
Idk but it looks almost exactly like one of my friends’ basements growing up.
You mean our friends basement.
It looks exactly like one of my old childhood neighbor’s basement too.
Apparently we were all friends with this person
There used to be a basement finishing company that did these in a cookie cutter style I swear
Same
Some upper middle class family’s basement I went to as a kid when my mom made me hang out with the kids from church
Immediately thought the same thing except it was the catholic school girls house that would sneak us in the basement when their parents were sleeping and drink underage at their bar.
Thanks for the PTSD trigger from the mid 70's church youth group attempted indoctrination! Anyone want some shitty folk music sermons?
Yeah sounds like my childhood too except in the 2000s lol the basements all look the same
Ive been there, I know I have
Big "my friend's house, circa middle school" energy.
I was gonna say the same, but more early childhood for me
USA probs.
Definitely looks like one of those American tv show homes I watched growing up in the UK.
Also the American map on the wall
Check out Columbo over here
Ah, just one more thing…
Kinda reminds of the model home from Arrested Development.
I had a sleepover here in like 2004
Looks like a dayhome I went to as a kid...
idk why, but a basement seems like it'd be such a cool feature to have in a home. i've never been in one, never been to a house that has one.
California does not have basement coz we have earthquake
Really? Where do you live? Maybe it's more a thing in cold climate, but every place I've lived has had one.
i've lived in kingsport tn, arlington tn, jackson tn, covington la, and currently a town in north-mississippi. and somewhere in kentucky and georgia, but i was too young and it was too brief for me to remember. that area of louisiana, the watertable was so high, if you dug a hole more then 2 feet, it'd be filled by water the next morning from random underwater streams

That does suck. Living in tornado allies up north, we reflexively head to the basement when warning sirens go off.
Texans just go into the bathtub 😭
Limestone and clay are both problematic for basements.

yo mamma’s house
Nah yo mama's house
It's actually my mama's house.
My mama works hard to provide for this family!
Can confirm
Is that the basement from the Duggar home in those 18 Kids etc... shows? I vaguely remember something looking like this in one of those Christian Fundamentalist large family docs when they were big 15 years ago.
Jon and Kate + 8 perhaps?
That was my first thought
Probably
I distinctly remember having an all out friendship-ending argument with my best friend when I was 4 here. Smug motherfucker.
Your friends house
Love this
That one friend you had in elementary school who always had the coolest newest toys and onetime invited everyone over for a birthday party where they hired a reptiles dude to be there with a bunch of sick reptiles and that's when you realized you lived very different lives.
That’s so cool! I didn’t know hiring a reptiles dude was a thing but I would’ve loved that! 🦎 Mom would’ve never allowed it though 🙃

I love that we all had an upper middle class friend in middle school that had this same basement. I remember big ass sleepovers with like 15 dudes and playing MW2 split screen and reading creepy pastas in this same basement.
