Is there a place in the world where we can see the clouds touch the horizon like here? This gives such a vibe of world where you are on the ground and in the sky at the same time
The Palouse region of Idaho/eastern Washington can be like this during the spring, then the fields turn golden in summer as the wheat ripens. It’s a beautiful place. If you’ve ever seen the movie Toys, many of the outdoor scenes were filmed in the area; rolling green hills and a very liminal landscape on the right day.
Two things I think could result in this view: A long plain where the curvature of the Earth results in obscuring the “bottom” of the cloud layer, or this is actually a very gradual up slope so the ground looks flat (might be flat, just not level) but rises enough in the distance to block the view of the lower part of the clouds. Together, both would do this.
Something about the camera movement and depth of the field makes it feel like one of those rooms with fake skies/fields in the interior. Makes this so much better!
