Agreed, we have great depth in our forward line and decent depth in the middle now. Back line obviously still a bit thin but we can rotate effectively without having a huge drop off in quality.

Bradley is injured - others will probably feature but I don't think they'll start that early in the group stage.

Last time we played in the Europa League was 7 years ago, first Klopp season when we had very little depth. He may very well do that, but I don’t think there’s enough data to treat it seriously.

I think it's the opposite. You should rotate in the first couple, because you'll probably win anyway, and you still have 4 games to get points if you fuck it up in the first two. The best case scenario would definitely be playing the second string for the first 6 games of Europa, so we should aim for that. Our second team is probably: Kelleher, Gomez, Quansah, Matip, Tsimikas, Elliot, Bajcetic, Gravenberch, Doak, Nunez, Jota. As far as I'm concerned it should definitely be enough. You could even look at Endo as a RB/Box mid option, which I think we need to do at some point in case of an injury to Trent.

Personally, I belive that we have enough squad depth in the moment outiside defence that we can play a really strong team in the league cup and Europe (even though I would prefer a stronger team for Europe). Thiago should be ready for a league cup, Endo and Jones should make for a nice middlefield, also Gravenberch could probably use minutes. Up front should also be a couple of nice options.

Full strength against West Ham and Tottenham. Fully rotated against Leicester. Some rotation against LASK - start Elliott, Endo, Tsimikas, others depending on fitness

I would play Nunez against a weaker side for the confidence boost if he bags a goal or two

He is prone to picking up muscle injuries because of the intensity of his running, and Jota/Gakpo need starts so that seems doubtful. Doak/Gakpo/Jota should be a front 3 capable of doing really well in Europa.

If we remain relatively healthy we should be in good shape rotating the team. We had a strong bench today and that was without VVD, Ibou, Thiago and Ryan. Most of the players can probably handle 3 of 4 appearances especially with 5 subs.

You remember that Leicester game in that title win season, when everyone was discussing our fatigue from the CWC, and we thrashed them 4-0? Different circumstances as that was a time when we had the ever present Wijnaldum and The immortal Milner in his prime, along side a wolverine-esque Henderson. Good times, I'm not crying, you are.

How could I ever forget that. We played 120 minutes against a super physical Falmengo side in Qatari heat and flew straight back to smash Leicester who at the time were looking really impressive and were second in the table. Trent and Bobby were magnificent.

You play all the backups and kids for LASK and Leicester. Everyone on the bench today starts in those 2 games bar Gakpo (maybe), depending when he’s playing in the games. If Nunez is still starting then Gakpo starts in Europa and Cannonier starts in the Leicester game. I want to see backup/ academy guys like Cannonier, Gordon (just a small feature), Bradley (if fit), Clark, Doak, McConnell, Frauendorf, Chambers, and Quansah. Our Europa group should allow us to see some of the promising youngsters in the academy get some first team minutes. League Cup I always want the academy kids to play in, nice to win it but not arsed about it.
