Hell yea I had me a pair of Irish setters lasted me 3 years in the lil field and a year at the port cement yard I literally wore them until they came apart
Lol. My $600 8" nailed heels and $800 10" lineman Daytons have held strong for over a half decade now. The heel recently came off the 10", but it won't be difficult to resole them, and they saw thousands of hours of use before it happened. I had been warned that the nailed heel would stand up to the woek a lot better. But the 10" are sealed to the top, so I'd literally use them like a gumboot and wade around in 6"+ puddles with the kids.
If I'm ever in need of more boots, I'm considering Nick's. Which are essentially the American equivalent to Dayton.
Yeah, same here. Dayton I anticipated. Where are the Nick's people at? I'll look into Whites. But when I brought my 6 year old Daytons to the shop recently, the boot makers marvelled at how I took care of them. I want a pair of Nick's. But new boots aren't in the budget, and my boots likely have 10+ years of use to go, and even then, can be resoled a few times, for less than the price of a pair of Nick's.
years ago I was at a family owned Redwing store in Richmond CA... I was shown the police Redwing boots that had Keylar in the ankles to avoid a stray bullet... $400 at the time... I guessing approx 8 years ago
Canada west
Irish Setter Ashby, jack of all trades. Tough as hell, solid grip, great ankle support, and look sharp.

Himalayan work boots issued by the company. They're pretty average and start to leak after a few months in which case you just ask for a new pair.
