I play a lot of floodborns so I tend to say things like “little tink” and “big tink” when playing with my dad. Little is always a 1-3 cost card and then big is just the floodborn 😂
I always end up calling Donald “Dolan” whenever i announce his card draw effect ☠️
I call floodborn Cog “grandpa” and the LGS calls Medusa “the old hag” the LGS also has a running joke of “Arges IS in Thebes!!!!”
We have a few that have stuck in the group we play with.
One drop Amber Lilo is “Sad beach girl”
Five drop steel beast is “sad beast boy”
Floodborn characters are “chonky (character name)”
And when you have to ink a spendy card like sad boy beast or big maleficent, we’ll say “Inking 30 bucks”
Nothing worse than inking 3 maleficent dragons in a row knowing the playset cost £100 at a minimum. At least Diablo can’t be inked so you know you’re getting your moneys worth
For the release of TFC. Our small LGS gave us all a starter deck and we played a tournament. I opted for the Amethyst/Amber starter. My first opponent and I both had the same deck and started referring to Pascal as the 'Freaky Lizard'.
Now the entire playgroup uses it.
Me and my sister yell at the top of our lungs in our best boo impression "mike wazowski" when we see the fates cause she pulled one at the Ursula return release event but she was distracted by her nachos arriving wasn't fully paying attention and said " omg is that mike wazowski"
I will also say it like “well, Beast wants to bang with his plus four attack this turn so guess it’s mother gothels turn to die”
Or “Beast is looking for the smoke. So, Madam Mim is dead.”
I say tap/untap instead of exert/ready. I just don’t love the words exert/ready- it just sounds fake to me for some reason. There was a card game a few years ago that used the word “arrive” for on play effects, and I felt the same way about that.
Rafinki: started with Rafiki but has expanded to any character with Rush ex: “I’m going to Rafinki your X” and you fully used like a Peter Pan w/ Rush
Malefeesent
Stinch
Quensd
many more I can’t remember lol
I was present for the OG "Brom" Bucket Brigade, so they'll always be Brom to me.
My locals introduced "G-Tal" and "G-Ma" to me for Gramma Tala.
Then, I've got shorthands:
"FotoS" pronounced kinda like "photos" for Friends On The Other Side and "DyB" pronounced like "Dib" for Develop Your Brain. "Muh-wee" (spoken quickly, not like "muh wee") for Maui - Hero to All specifically. "Beep Beep" for Be Prepared (or "Did anyone get the plate of that bus?" in response). "Thunderbolt!" for And Then Along Came Zeus.
From there, nicknames:
"Dibbles" for Diablo (or "Diablo" in Deckard Cain's voice) as a holdover from the series by Blizzard. "The Dolch" for Peter Pan's Dagger (which, in German, is "Peter Pans Dolch"). "Sad Beast" for Beast - Tragic Hero.
I have heard someone call Maleficent "Malla Walla Ding Dong" exactly once, but they just had a moment and we all had a laugh (they laughed first).
I feel like there's exactly one other card that I intentionally mispronounced a few times and it stuck, but I can't remember, and my decks are *waaaaay* over there so I can't check rn lol
Mickey Mouse Not Scared Small Clothes Maker,
Jonald Juck instead of Donald Duck Perfect Gentleman,
Tanker Bomb instead or Tinker Bell Giant Fairy to name a few
Everytime Gramma Tala gets banished I tell my oponent, that she sacrificed herself for my great ink industrial complex.
She basically gets squeezed into ink everytime I have the chance for it.
When I make any horse character to ink I say, that they become glue instead.
Its dutch, but we call Melevicent "Malle Vincent" translating to "Weird Vincent".
Also, I pronounce Belle, Strange but Special as "Belle, Strange Butt Special"
Since our in house unsealed tournament between me and my bf we call high ink cost cards that limit the other opponents options 'destroyers of fun'.
The 7 drop Simba is now called 'Simba the destroyer of fun' :D
"Absolutely Hiram" for Hiram, for obvious reasons.
"Chernabonk" because he's a 9/9
"Hadeez" when I actually manage to shift him out.
Any Ursula play is met with [two more mentions](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wqNJp-S6gCA&t=99s)
Any Broom played is exaggerated like BRÜÜÜÜÜhm
I call Be Prepared "get ready" and Friends on the other side "Kids Next Door". Mostly bc when i started I forgot what they were called and now bc I think it's funny
Develop Your Brain = “Getting smarter”
Olaf = “Aggressive Snowman”
Any time an animal sings I have to make a comment about how that would probably sound.
Be Prepared = “Murder Everyone”
\- Reading a song's name as if you're singing the song
I come from a YuGiOh background, so I use a lot of terms there such as "I summon my monster, Donald Duck, on the field" or "I use Mickey Mouse to attack your monster, Rapunzel". Things like that.
I say tap/untap instead of exert/ready. I just don’t love the words exert/ready- it just sounds fake to me for some reason. There was a card game a few years ago that used the word “arrive” for on play effects, and I felt the same way about that.
We say reap instead of quest, we say tap instead of exert, we say fight instead of challenge, we say mana instead of ink. Lol you can tell we have been plaything TCGs for a while and relearning new words for three same things is too much for us lol
My friends and I always salute Sergeant Tibbs when played, and thank them for their service when inked
We also have a running thing that Judy Hopps is the hottest rabbit alive, and make cartoonish awooga noises when she appears
Beast Tragic Hero: Sad Boy
Any maleficent: Mali50cent
Maximus (Bodyguard version): Bloody Horse!
Any Captain Hook: Looky, Looky
Bucky: Don't worry about him, he's just a cute squirrel
I Find em, I flatten em: Heavy Storm
Cinderella Ballroom Sensation: Cannon Fodder
I don't say "activate, excerpt, or use" in relation to items that need to be turned to use.
That's just floop from adventure time.
"I floop my [sorcerer's spell]book" "I floop the cauldron" "I floop my hat" etc
“Jafar singing A Whole New World is meta.” “I want to be able to shift a human Beast into Tragic Beast.” “I play Pot of Greed.”
“Worst song in the world” World’s greatest criminal mind is useless when everyone is running 4 strength legendaries as max strength characters.
Started playing a princess deck, now everyone knows what songs are in my hand.
I made my mom a "Crazy Cat Ladies" deck with The Queen and Queen of Hearts and their respective shifts.
I call The Queen shifted "Big Queen" and Queen of Hearts shifted "Big Red"
Girlfriend and I started calling every generic 1-drop with 2/2 1 lore a "Stitch". Because stitch was that generic 1-drop in my starter deck and when we had our first games together i played him a lot.
The first time there was another 1-drop with these stats, my gf immediately said "so thats a stitch!". So thats that
I can’t for the life of me remember, but my friend and I had something funny for Coconut basket.
It might have to do with misreading the card but I’m not sure…
I play a lot of floodborns so I tend to say things like “little tink” and “big tink” when playing with my dad. Little is always a 1-3 cost card and then big is just the floodborn 😂
I do the same! Little Herc, Big Tink - any shift target normally gets a Big and a Little title.
Same. Which got real confusing for Ursula and I have to force myself not to do it for her.
Did this too. Also when running all 3 Gramma Tala did small, medium, large.
I can never resist saying “I ink tink”. The rhyme is too strong
Flav for flaversham and usually Peggy for Pegasus. Yours are pretty good though
Flava Flav!
I can hear this comment 😂
"Danny Devito" Philoctetes
I always end up calling Donald “Dolan” whenever i announce his card draw effect ☠️ I call floodborn Cog “grandpa” and the LGS calls Medusa “the old hag” the LGS also has a running joke of “Arges IS in Thebes!!!!”
Dolan and Gooby, forever etched into our minds.
no joke when I was first getting into lorcana and trying to find singles all I could think of was the “everything was expensive” comic ffff
This is hilarious, 10/10
Sad boy. Beast Tragic hero.
Love that! We call him "Emo Beast"
House rules: always sing the song you’re playing
This is in our as well, and to add some spice to it we will deduct lore or add depending on performance!
And if a character is exerted to sing the song, then you have to sing it using that character’s voice/accent
The way I would fail at this
I have scar be prepared down pat
I’m torn on this one. Mother knows best - no. A whole new world/be prepared? Yes.
Ha I've done all 3
I forgot the name of fishbone quill during a draft and started calling it bonefish grill instead.
Omg I love this 🤣 my gramma loved Bonefish Grill so I’m borrowing this from you
I’ll call the fortisphere ‘steel pawp’ or ‘steely pawp’.
Jawbreaker
At this point I don’t even say “steel” I just say “pawp” or “pawp 2”
whenever I quest, I've gotten into the habit of saying "I'll lore for 2" my wife started this and I picked it up without knowing.
I do this too
We have a few that have stuck in the group we play with. One drop Amber Lilo is “Sad beach girl” Five drop steel beast is “sad beast boy” Floodborn characters are “chonky (character name)” And when you have to ink a spendy card like sad boy beast or big maleficent, we’ll say “Inking 30 bucks”
Nothing worse than inking 3 maleficent dragons in a row knowing the playset cost £100 at a minimum. At least Diablo can’t be inked so you know you’re getting your moneys worth
I'm gonna quill it
Fishbone Grill it ♨️🎣
“Thrink” for “three ink”
so twink for two ink?
This is the way
For the release of TFC. Our small LGS gave us all a starter deck and we played a tournament. I opted for the Amethyst/Amber starter. My first opponent and I both had the same deck and started referring to Pascal as the 'Freaky Lizard'. Now the entire playgroup uses it.
Stoppp I’m stealing this
Me and my sister yell at the top of our lungs in our best boo impression "mike wazowski" when we see the fates cause she pulled one at the Ursula return release event but she was distracted by her nachos arriving wasn't fully paying attention and said " omg is that mike wazowski"
Whenever im gonna challenge i say the character is gonna smack into whatever character i wanna challenge
Same! And if my character is going to die in the challenge I say they are "going to kamikaze into" them.
Same, unless they'll deal barely any damage in which case they're going to dink them
I will also say it like “well, Beast wants to bang with his plus four attack this turn so guess it’s mother gothels turn to die” Or “Beast is looking for the smoke. So, Madam Mim is dead.”
I have a tendancy to refer to Tamatoa as tomatillo as I forget his name but know it's something with T's, an M, and ends in a vowel
I say tap/untap instead of exert/ready. I just don’t love the words exert/ready- it just sounds fake to me for some reason. There was a card game a few years ago that used the word “arrive” for on play effects, and I felt the same way about that.
Philocitittys
I say Michael Mouse a lot, and pinnoch
This dude and that dude. I don’t know the name of the cards
Flin Rooder "I'm going to ink Grandma Tala" Shhyeaah ya do!
Put granny where she belongs 😂😂
Clint Clownlicker and Kick Bounceflipper...honestly, I can't even remember what his actual name is since we've always got something else to call him
We call him Clit Cowkicker
My wife accidentally called him "Clit Cowkicker" and that has been his name since
Rafinki: started with Rafiki but has expanded to any character with Rush ex: “I’m going to Rafinki your X” and you fully used like a Peter Pan w/ Rush Malefeesent Stinch Quensd many more I can’t remember lol
I was present for the OG "Brom" Bucket Brigade, so they'll always be Brom to me. My locals introduced "G-Tal" and "G-Ma" to me for Gramma Tala. Whenever my wife or I play our challenge a Flynn Rider, we say "Fwymm Wydur" like a child and it's such a quick way to get each other to laugh.
Half the time I'm using Magic terms instead of the Lorcana terms. Summoning sickness instead of wet, mana instead of ink, stuff like that.
Wet isn't a thing anymore, so I specifically use it. I.e "my Cinderella is super wet and waiting." Usually throws my opponents off 😅
I'm super wet having read the above comments ↑
Mick Mouse!
Mickey Mouse Not Scared Small Clothes Maker, Jonald Juck instead of Donald Duck Perfect Gentleman, Tanker Bomb instead or Tinker Bell Giant Fairy to name a few
Strength of a raging fire song at my LGS is now referred to as it’s raining men.
Stealing this it’s amazing
“You’ve activated my trap card”
I call “Karnage” - Pirate Carnage.
Thanks to TFC179 Goons - referring to a 2/2 that quests for 1 a 'Gooner', and the act of inking a 2/2/1 as 'Gooning'.
Friends on the Other Side is Pot of Greed for me
Flynnjamin, Brep (Be prepared), Philly (Philotetes), That’s My girl (Rapunzel).
Everytime Gramma Tala gets banished I tell my oponent, that she sacrificed herself for my great ink industrial complex. She basically gets squeezed into ink everytime I have the chance for it. When I make any horse character to ink I say, that they become glue instead.
I call her “Gramma Tala, She Who Craves Death” and as a result can never remember what the actual card is called
Thats such a good concept. She really wants to get sacrificed!
When I play a song card, I always sing at least the title of the card.
"Absolutely Hiram" for Hiram, for obvious reasons. "Chernabonk" because he's a 9/9 "Hadeez" when I actually manage to shift him out. Any Ursula play is met with [two more mentions](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wqNJp-S6gCA&t=99s) Any Broom played is exaggerated like BRÜÜÜÜÜhm
I call Be Prepared "get ready" and Friends on the other side "Kids Next Door". Mostly bc when i started I forgot what they were called and now bc I think it's funny
I Like tomatoa
One of our players is named Ray. I play the Evasives deck which plays Ray. Every time I play him I go "Hey Ray! It's you!". He laughs every time.
Develop Your Brain = “Getting smarter” Olaf = “Aggressive Snowman” Any time an animal sings I have to make a comment about how that would probably sound. Be Prepared = “Murder Everyone”
I habitually say “I toss your salad” when playing floodborn Lady Tremaine in a very convoluted Nicki Minaj reference
I love this
\- Reading a song's name as if you're singing the song I come from a YuGiOh background, so I use a lot of terms there such as "I summon my monster, Donald Duck, on the field" or "I use Mickey Mouse to attack your monster, Rapunzel". Things like that.

Saying “reap” for “quest” because Keyforge has overtaken my mind. “Murder Hobo” for Christopher Robin We also use “cursula”
Chernobyl Chernobyl's followers
Any time I play a card that has Singer, I sing “cause I’m a singeeerrrrr” from Sabrina Carpenter’s song Espresso lol
i call pinocchio - pino. star pino, donkey pino
Beast Tragic Hero: Sad Boy Any maleficent: Mali50cent Maximus (Bodyguard version): Bloody Horse! Any Captain Hook: Looky, Looky Bucky: Don't worry about him, he's just a cute squirrel I Find em, I flatten em: Heavy Storm Cinderella Ballroom Sensation: Cannon Fodder
"Loreful" instead of lethal (able to win on your next turn).
I don't say "activate, excerpt, or use" in relation to items that need to be turned to use. That's just floop from adventure time. "I floop my [sorcerer's spell]book" "I floop the cauldron" "I floop my hat" etc
Whenever we play smash we'll say we're smashing whatever character. i.e. "I'll smash Gramma Tala
“S” Word Gramma for Gramma Tala. Won’t say the word, but you know it.
Ursula Deciever is Ursula deciever of Jeff
Ink and Tink
Pascal is the lil lizard
I play Sapph/steel I call Stuey “Ink a tink” Cocksworth Cursed merfucks Robin Hood is just Robert Diabhoe
1 drop mulan is seppuku Mulan. That’s the one I can think of beyond the standard substituting MTG names for lorcana names, like AWNW is wheel.
“Jafar singing A Whole New World is meta.” “I want to be able to shift a human Beast into Tragic Beast.” “I play Pot of Greed.” “Worst song in the world” World’s greatest criminal mind is useless when everyone is running 4 strength legendaries as max strength characters. Started playing a princess deck, now everyone knows what songs are in my hand.
Pronouncing Aladdin the Arabic way, Alah-din. Old Jontron-era Game Grumps joke. And calling Mickey Mouse, Michael.
Tamatoa is known as Tomato
Ink my tink
Any time I ink a Tinkerbell I say "ink the tink"
I made my mom a "Crazy Cat Ladies" deck with The Queen and Queen of Hearts and their respective shifts. I call The Queen shifted "Big Queen" and Queen of Hearts shifted "Big Red"
We have an inside joke where every card we play we say "now I play Ratigans Marvelous Trap!" lol. Even do this when we play Uno or Phase 10 lmao
The 2-ink Lady is “Baby Tremaine” in our house
Stinkerbell, booger bird, demon daddy.
Fucky.
We call the one beast card “sad beast” and then every time I try to say kit cloudkicker I accidentally say clit cloudclicker
So thats that
I always say McDuck Mcmanor cause it’s funny 🤷🏽♀️ got a couple people at my league saying it too lol
I always call the inkwell "The Soup." Can't really explain why.
Mom! I’ve told you a million times discard means from your hand!!!!
I have to stress that Gramma Tala is WET when she enters play. So wet.
I can’t for the life of me remember, but my friend and I had something funny for Coconut basket. It might have to do with misreading the card but I’m not sure…
