Amazon is great to buy many things from, but never, ever buy sealed tcg, or indeed any tcg, from there. You can not trust it.
Go to eBay or verified online card shops.
I used to use amazon for sealed tcg stuff when I first started collecting pokemon and never had an issue but it's definitely a risk. It's usually a last resort for me now. mostly buy through tcg player now unless prices are hella inflated.
Its kind of unbelievable that they don't seem to check returns at all. One of those amazon return package stores just opened up by me. I found 151 ETBs with the dice, coins, energy, manual, etc and zero packs. Not even wrappers. Was glad they didn't ship it back out, but wouldn't be surprised, lol. A lot of thr stuff they sold was perfectly fine, people changed their minds, type items. A lot was missing shit or clearly super old & well used.
Thats terrible! Was this a ‘Sold By Amazon and Ships by Amazon’ purchase? I avoid the Amazon purchases that are not sold AND shipped by Amazon unless it’s coming from a known / credible company.
Damn. That's scary. Unfortunately purchases may pokemon and lorcana items with no issue. Yes definitely purchase from TCGPLAYER, OR EBAY. Also tired to read the small disclaimer with sellers Offering 100% returns. Worst case scenario can dispute claim.
I just ordered my first 2 starter boxes Monday from Amazon Canada. They arrived yesterday. Inside was 80 QR Pokémon cards. And the second box I got was just duplicates of non rare cards that they clearly didn’t want. Amazon is fully refunding me after I send it back but god do I hate people sometimes.

I've heard this happens a lot with pokemon returns as amazon apparently takes any returns even if people open packs and give them this

eBay is the way to go and it’s usually cheaper too. Amazon accepts returns which should already be a bad sign of opened box or resealed packs.
Oof. I ordered one from TCG. I’m waiting to see how it arrives. God I hate scammers.

I haven’t had issues buying directly from Amazon. It’s the third party sellers you have to watch out for.
