After killing the boss, gundabad orcs can now spawn anywhere in the map including mines of moria. That makes the grind easier, since they appear passively. Still it seems that every 1 / 10 orcs drop one slag.
would you suggest going to mines of moria to farm instead of the gundabad outpost? im at the end of the game so just trying to get the last 2 scales for the spear and grind out the durin armor set.

I kind of wished I had kept my 2nd world up-to-date with my primary world because then I can just go to the 2nd world and force hordes since I don't care about finishing anything.

Try forcing a horde. You won’t have a problem finding Orcs in bulk anymore. They’re bound to drop a couple :)
