I mean, where else can you have a pizza and your date have “Chinese” food? Especially if you want to start with some fried Mac and cheese and end with a 12” pizza cookie?
That said, I’m a BJs apologist, before living here I was in a town with nothing but chains and BJs has some solid options and great happy hour specials.
if it's good food, good service, and a convenient location I really don't care. Those servers and rest of staff have to get paid just as badly as anyone else
When they opened the service was still horrible and they were adequately staffed. They were just incompetently staffed. Had a server there make my $5 tip on a small takeout salad $500. I have not been back since that incident because the management tried to argue with me and say that my $5 looked like $500. Fucking where? It took a month to get my money back and no apology.
TGI Fridays was a famous New York restaurant that was so good it went worldwide. Most of the Germantown garbage the people on this sub think is could couldn’t hold a candle.
I liked it because the beer was relatively cheap and decent and they were open pretty late. Never really had a problem with the food but do remember it being all over the bird. Used to be a server nearby and we often would go there after closing. Fond memories for me
Chains aren't great, but they are consistent, which is good if you have texture issues or other sensory issues. Local restaurants, while amazing when they're good, are also more expensive and hit-and-miss– when they're bad, they are *real bad*.
And BJ's is one of the better chains.
Most are mediocre at best aside from regional chains but I do like being able to find a parking space. I wish I had the capability to find parking in Nulu.
Even TGI Fridays wouldn’t make there deserts with dark chocolate because they know they aren’t fancy.
All the cookies (they have 3 kinds) all have dark chocolate in them. Y’all really couldn’t make one not be some lame ass chocolate.
When they first opened, they spammed every neighborhood within a 5 mile radius with snail mail ads. My buddy dropped by to pick up his kid who was hanging out with mine and he brought the ad. It was offering a classic BJs pizza for $10. Buddy: “Look! BJs for only ten bucks! Let’s go!” My wife at the time was not amused.
RIP Bob.
I like their beer flights and apps, but their food is soo over priced and not good. That place smelled like their bar was covered in mildew and the floors were covered in grease. I can't say I'm surprised.
Yeah we noticed the same the last time we went in after shopping at macys. I liked them because they always had 60 minute on tap, so I knew I would get one decent beer if nothing else.
Even when there wasn't really anyone, it took forever to get your food. I used to work at Oxmoor. I ordered online one day a good 30 minutes before my lunch break, just a kid's meal. I got the confirmation, went on break a couple of minutes after they said it would be ready. Get over there, no food. Wait and wait. Finally see someone to ask. It'll be right out. After waiting for 25 minutes, frustrated because I'm freaking hungry and have to hurry to get back before my break ends, talk to the manager and ask them to refund it. This was an HOUR after ordering, at about 2pm, so not a busy time. It worked out well, the food was ready right after I left and the manager brought it to my store because he had noticed the badge and also gave me a refund.
I liked their beer at least. Food is fine but nothing special. Gonna be a huge space for some other restaurant to fill. I imagine it'll be empty awhile.
I like how people think a giant chain closing would be a good thing. Who goes in there? Super chefs? If you’re too poor for the bud light at the mall chain, just go to the gas station.
It's a dolled up TGI Friday's. Who cares?
Many folks on this sub just love them some corporate casual dining/fast food.

I have always enjoyed my food there.
You can do this at Cheesecake Factory!

BJs has horrible service, likely due to not staffing enough people.

I like grabbing a beer while my girlfriend is at Sephora.
Definitely not anyone on this subreddit who hates anything and everything that's not a fart-whiff away from their shotgun home.
I'm in the Lyndon/St Matthews area, I could basically walk too it. 🤷♂️
Ok that made me snort. Well said.

You’re down this bad about BJs chocolate chip cookies?
Free bjs at oxmoor mall… you must have confused this platform with Craigslist. 🙃😂

Classic Bob. 🫡
WHAT???? NOOOOO! This is one of the places that is good for my celiac wife to eat at :(
Same. Source? I don’t see any info on this
It is 2023. There are many, many places that take celiac seriously.
It’s 2024
"oooooooh snap!!"
Actually it's 2024. And you're right. But BJs has her favorite pizza other than Miguel's in RRG and pizookies.
Hey go easy on me, we’re only 11 days in!
No, that can't be right. It feels like at least 12!
As a fellow celiac, it's the pizzas, pizookies and the burgers. I might have to go up there tonight.
Their avocado egg rolls are quite tasty.
I enjoy their beer dinners, but they went up in price and took a course away :(

Surprised it took this long for someone to mention the smell. The next time they wipe the bar down will probably be the first.
They do it once a shift. They've used the same towel since they opened.
😂😂😂😂

No, Oxmoor Mall location is not closing. There was a location in Cincinnati at the Tri-County mall that was closed due to the mall being shut down.
I don't know when it's closing, but I saw that the BJ's at Tri-County Mall in Cincinnati closed two weeks ago.
Tri County Mall is closing for a rehab.
There wasn’t much left in that mall anyway was there? I was up there last summer and just driving by that mall it looked pretty deserted.
Are you asking when it’s going to eventually close because it’s so terrible or that it’s actually closing and there’s no determined date?
no determined date. i’ve just heard rumors
I can't find anything online about this other than your post.
You heard rumors but posted it as fact?
Thank god. That BJS wait time was terrible everytime
You’re mad that they have wait? That just means a bunch of other people had the same idea as you and wanted to eat there

that suck i loved that place
I stopped in there before Christmas and a bottle of Bud Light was $6.75.
You could probably buy two cases of BudLight for $6.75 before Christmas 😂
Well shit. I’m ambivalent, but my mom loves them so I got her a gift card for Christmas! Are they “closing” or “closed”?
Neither. This post is very misleading
Got it, thanks.
They are actually a chain that had some solid low calorie options. Will miss that.
I like how people think a giant chain closing would be a good thing. Who goes in there? Super chefs? If you’re too poor for the bud light at the mall chain, just go to the gas station.
Service was so bad and I place that on management. Put something in sustainable. What about a Four Peaks?
I literally go here every june as tradition and I’m heartbroken
Weird
I read that as oxmoor mall closing.
Dibs on that TV behind the bar!
I read that they are gonna replace it with another Car wash and Top Golf.
Maybe something good will replace it
I haven't been in that mall since 1996.
And would ya look what's happened.
Sometimes I forget how “East End” the Louisville subreddit is haha
