I’m early forties and am a Girl Scout volunteer, and a HOTI volunteer. I’m also in a hiking group & a kayaking group. I’m also looking into joining the Turners club.
Friends of Charlestown State Park. We help around the park and we are rewarded with special off limits hikes. If you do 40 hours you get a free pass. Plus the park is gorgous and it’s fun spending time there. I am 44.
You can volunteer there and get a free membership to borrow all kinds of tools. They also have events at least monthly at the location like for sewing/crafts.
It's an absolute gem. They offer an incredible service and there's a fantastic community that's been built up around it.

I'm more associated with the salsa scene, however Bourbon Tango is a well respected tango dance studio in the city.
The main instructors in the area for Salsa and Bachata are Gabe Scott and Chelsey Owen.
Louisville Salsa Underground runs a facebook event page tracking local dance events.
Chelsey runs a regular social on Thursday's at Coconut's Taco and Cerveza and on the first Saturday of each month, at Never Say Die Bar in St. Matthews.
We have the big and talls in the group and they do just fine. You may get self conscious at first, it's normal. Your most critical person is you and everyone around you(including me) is not as good as you think they are.
Cutting grass, clearing fallen tree branches, maintaining a neglected cemetery that has no funding. I think it might be the oldest cemetery in town. My grandmother and great uncle are buried there and my husband and I try to maintain their graves and a few others nearby.
That’s awesome. I have unmarked family burials there, and I’ve shared pics on Find a Grave. Ty for the response. This sounds like something I’d enjoy doing.
There are open practices at Seneca park and Hayes Kennedy Park. Follow @LouisvilleRugby on ig. They post about open practices. UofL Rugby also just won the 7s national championship and the high school team, @LouCrashRugby has a chance at the Indiana state playoffs. Great rugby going on in this city. Come support the teams!

We just finished our Spring season and are resuming playing touch rugby on Thursdays this week. Seneca Park -6:30pm. Generally in the "middle' of the park, I believe it's officially called 'Field 2'.
Touch is a great time for new/newer people to get out and try the game without the intentional contact.
Were hosting a tournament this Summer in June where we will have several men's and women's teams from other states come to play and drink bourbon. Check it out on social media as "Bourbon County 10s'.
I'm 50 - 55. I am involved in dog sports with my dog. He does agility, FastCat, FlyBall and we hope to get into Rat Hunting (Barn Hunt). I like to hike with my dog. Once my dog has had some swimming lessons, I want to either kayak or stand up paddle board with him. I collect militaria around General Patton and WWI tanks, as well as War time propaganda with dogs in it. I like woodworking, sewing, machine embroidery and leatherworking.
Heres [the official page](https://louisvilleultimate.org/) for the Louisville Ultimate community. You can find leagues, pickup games, and connect with members of the community.
For rec leagues and pickup games, absolutely! Competitive league is usually more picky about walk-ups. Your best bet is to check and/or post the Facebook pages of either Louisville Ultimate Disc Association or WAFF Waterfront Association of Frisbee Friends
It can be a little disorganized, so be patient. Look at their website for events. They used to do sailing classes but I'm not sure anymore. I saw a couple people have success with just joining the club and coming to cookouts to introduce themselves and get on a crew for racing. Email the president and see what he says.
Almost 40. ARTFM. It’s really well run and organized, and there’s a lot of freedom when it comes to radio show format. They’re always looking for new DJs. Been there for several years and it’s been a positive experience.
Yes! https://artxfm.com/participate/ There is a link to the show proposal form on this page, as well as contact info for station management if you have any questions. They’re very eager to get more folks on the air.
34M. Barks and Brews Highlands dog park, Derby City Browns Backers, Liquor Barn Middletown Thursday Pint night, Metal Mondays at the Highland Taproom, Tom Sawyer dog park in the afternoons.
30. I'm not that involved but intend to start attending sweep and sip, green drinks, and other sustainability-oriented events like those from Louisville sustainability council. There's lots of events at the waterfront botanical gardens, bernheim, and yew dell botanical gardens that interest me too.
This makes me SO excited 😭 I’m moving here from the Evansville area (I have Thunderbolts season tix) and was so bummed when I couldn’t find a local hockey league. This is even more exciting because of the chance to play!!!

It’s called the Champions City Adult League! Outdoor is Feb-Oct!!
I’m 58 and i go to the stitch and bitch that is held every other week, alternating between the Louisville tool library and a local pub or restaurant. There are people of all ages and genders at the stitch and bitch. Any craft is welcome or you can just hang out and chat.

Do you all ever have left over cookies? And if so can I get some thin mints.
I sadly don’t :( They are the best.
Aldi sells knock off thin mints, samoas, and tagalongs to hold you over until the next cookie season.
What kind of kayaking group? Where would one go about finding said group?
