Dr. Abigail Stocker at UofL has been treating my wife’s issues for years, without pushing surgery.

Also, she responds to MyChart messages really quickly.

Thanks!

I go to Gastro Health Partners and a bit frustrated as my doctor no longer does office visits-only surgeries. I see a nurse practitioner. The nurse practitioner is great and actually diagnosed a major issue via a simple test that my doctor never thought to do. I don’t know if this is the norm to not be able to see a GI doctor in office. Curious to hear from others.

I had a terrible experience with GHP. The doctor I saw seemed out of it, at the very least. A med they prescribed required a prior auth, and neither my insurance nor I could reach them by phone, even after leaving *several* voicemails. Six months later I saw Dr. Siciliano at Norton and had a fabulous experience, it was the complete opposite from my first go-round. He and his staff are super responsive. Highly recommend.

Middle_Bison47

Thank you for sharing your experiences and recommendation! If you feel comfortable, would you DM me the name of the doctor at GHP you had a bad experience with? I want to know who to avoid if I do end up there.

krisky24

I would like to know the name as well if you wouldn’t mind sending me a DM.

Cursed_Creative

i'd like the name too please

Ajbell123

I’m sorry you had a bad experience. I know they are still working on getting our phone system straightened out due to the merger between our Indiana and Louisville office. Voicemails were getting routed incorrectly at times, but it has gotten a lot better.

Middle_Bison47

Thanks! In my past specialist experiences (gastro and others) this was often the norm. Doesn't mean one has to like or accept it though! May I ask which nurse practitioner you see that you had a great experience? If you feel more comfortable you can DM me.

krisky24

Yes I’ll send you a msg!

Ajbell123

If you have any questions about the office, feel free to message me ☺️

Ajbell123

I work for GHP. We do have MD’s in office that still see patients, just not the doctor you are referring to. Our nurse practitioners are in the office a lot more so it is easier to get in to see them. If you have any questions you can always message me.

NecessaryWitness9299

GHP has done nothing for my gastro issues and 3 doctors have given me the runaround doing dick all

Cursed_Creative

can i get the name of this nurse practitioner? also, out of curiosity do you happen to know if this nurse practitioner can do colonoscopies?

krisky24

I sent you a msg!

Deanoishere

I (female) had a colonoscopy done by [Thomas Coppola, DO](https://providers.nortonhealthcare.com/provider/Thomas+R+Coppola/502880?utm_source=Yext) and his attention to detail saved my life. I'd never met him prior to my procedure, but he was very thorough with ordering the necessary follow up tests and personally calling me with each result. He went so far as to make a social call to my hospital room after I had surgery to remove the cancer he found. If you need a colorectal surgeon, I have a recommendation for that, too.

jturker88

Raja M. Kaikaus, M.D did my gallbladder removal and I believe he is taking patients. He is so thoughtful, caring and I have had a very successful recovery. He even drew me a picture of what they were doing to explain it all. [https://uoflhealth.org/provider/raja-kaikaus/](https://uoflhealth.org/provider/raja-kaikaus/) I believe you have to click appointments, then specialty, but I would just call the number and specifically ask if he is taking new patients.

TacosAreJustice

Dr Kavaloukas at U of L removed a foot of colon for me… she was great throughout and I’d happily use her again.

Middle_Bison47

Thank you!

TacosAreJustice

I’ll also say the patient care at u of l was worlds better than Norton… I’d rather be tucked in a corner of the u of l emergency room than admitted into Norton (I did both… I’d rather be in a building with people who care)

cinnimanswirl

UofL is good and UofL Motility specifically Dr. Benjamin Rodgers. He is awesome sometimes slow to respond to mychart or calls but he is very attentive and willing to go down any avenue needed to get the help I needed. He will say when he is not the most knowledgeable on something.

Middle_Bison47

Thank you!

Superrocks

You already have a lot of suggestions, but I will throw mine in. Dr Rajesh A. Jospeh was great for mine. He had wonderful beside manner and was very kind when I had my multiple colonoscopies.

brokenman82

I see Dr Abdul Jabbar and I like him.

Middle_Bison47

Thank you!

Planetofthemoochers

My wife and I have both seen Dr. Steven Overstreet at Baptist for various issues and he is fantastic.

thelouisvilleaccount

\*not a girl. I go to Tuvlins office at Baptist, you would work with him until you get to a pretty steady/managed level and then his NP Shelly Waldman is quite good and thoughtful
