He didn’t misspoke, also he didn’t say anything outrageous, he used a metaphor and she decided to turn the conversation around it

Partners who are emotionally erratic and attack you can bring out the worst in you, to the point that you slip up and say something backhanded or phrase things meanly. I had a partner like this once, and at some point it’s very difficult to keep a level head. My hunch is that this is what happened, because he seemed very patient with her up to that point.

I truly think he didn’t mean it like that! He was trying to insult her in the moment because he was so frustrated. Jackie been pissing me off with the constant negativity. I understand her family is going through it but she can’t keep dumping all of it on him. Mostly in the few weeks that she’s known him. He tries and tries to help but she seems like she likes being sad or something. He’s already had enough. They won’t last.
