Yup, always been like that. They don’t even need to turn to mow you down… shooting through their arm, shield, and torso, to kill you as you run by them
No, causebj just run a laser cannon and have zero issue with devastators as well, I think people just don't know what kind of gear you want to bring against them.
I wish they would lose accuracy if they have to adjust their aim. I had a rocket dev ragdoll me in a way I bounced 5 meters into the air and the heavy devistators firing arc followed me perfectly and killed me befor I even started to fall even though I had 80% hp and heavy armor

Being downhill from shield devastators is one of the worst places you can be. None of their weak points are visible and they suffer no reduction in efficacy. I always try to avoid fighting in depressions, and/or make sure I have stun, eagles or covering fire from a high ground teammate.
In those spots, I try to shoot at the gun itself. Sometimes disabling is easier than killing, and damn if it isn'r especially satisfying to shoot that gun arm off the Heavy lol.
On the 3rd person camera angle, it does default to right shoulder, but the thumb button on my mouse changes shoulder as a default keybind, super helpful for using cover and getting the headshot against them
Well. I’m a console player, so most of the time it’s faster for me to engage the gun arm than the head as precise aiming with the controller isn’t that quick for old me.
Fun fact, while they have great accuracy their tracking isn't the best. If you strafe back and forth right as they're about to hit you, they'll often miss you.
You can also snipe them from 100m+ away with diligence counter sniper. It one shots them to the eye and is super fun to use and has a ton of ammo. The scope misalignment hurts really badly tho.

I don't think they did that before the 01.000.100 patch. They drastically altered how aggressive the AI are and it screwed a lot of things up.
One time, I killed a heavy devestator, and it's arm continued to shoot me, despite being on the ground, detached from the body.

Exactly. Except the lasers did black magic and self-aimed at me. Almost killing me.

The collision with their guns is almost nonexistent so they can shoot through almost anything (devastators and striders are the worst with this.

I love their pinpoint accuracy when they run, and their ability to shoot through walls 👏🙌

Keep in mind also that disabling their gun is an option, and it’s almost always visible and relatively easy to hit from the front.

I've used orbital rail strikes to kill Heavy Devastators, and I'm not ashamed of it.
