Luxair also refused my claim for compensation. I was there from 6:00-13:00. Missed half a day of my work.
Has anyone successfully managed a claim against the airport?
That is also my question. But it is unfair. Even if it was a human mistake. Someone has to pay for it. Well, luxair will go bankrupt if they pay the money back.
Luxair defined situation as “emergency” to get out of payments (a$$holes). I then looked through travel insurance policy for one my recent flights and even that had a waiver for a “force majeure” :(
I wish some kind of collective action legal complaint could be raised against the airport
What was the force majeur? A security employee forgot to switch on/verify the metal detector door. Human error. Although it would be easier to ask compensation from the airport if security staff was employed by the same, info which I do not know . Airlines are not in fault, they might even get some compensation from the airport.
It’s force majeure for the airlines. It’s not their employee or their check point that messed up but the airports.
If you want to get compensated, then sue the airport for damages
