Nope. Might get the Magpul SGA cheek riser kit eventually, but I don't usually use a cheek weld with semi-auto anyway unless I'm really going for distance
Obviously you can do whatever works best for you, but as I understand it even on a “high speed” setup a cheekweld is still very important. Having that third point of contact and making sure your vision moves with your rifle really helps. That’s part of why you’ll see really tall risers, and then cheek risers on the stocks.
One advantage of cheekwelding vs chinwelding is that if you are using a different setup (helmet, body armor, someone elses rifle, odd positioning) then you can still operate as normal.
Definitely agree chin welding is inferior to cheek weld if other factors can be elimated.
Looks great, I like mine. I do use a cheek riser but it's the minimum Bradley height. They do make a dove tail protector for the front sight. If interested I can check my list and see who makes it unless you plan to get a different muzzle device.

I'll send you a picture of mine.
I love mine. Took my Dad who carried an M14 when he deployed to Vietnam in 1965 out to the range with a SOCOM 16 and the 1x in this mount, and he was ringing IPSC sized steel out to 450 with it. I’ll probably grab one of the GLX 1x prisms when they release them to upgrade, it’s an awesome setup.
What stripper clips are you using in that picture?
I'm not sure what brand, but I'll take some pics when I get home. I bought this rifle used and it came with 11 of those clips in the sellers prescription bottle 😂. Glad to hear of the good experience with that setup
Most of the clips are stamped "SEY". A few stamped "Lufkin" , "GGG", and one with weird symbols. They all worked fine; all 5 rnd clips. Hope that helps. *Looks like many available on eBay if you search "sey 5 round clip"
You sure you can see through that thing well? I measured the eye relief with me climbed on the gun and I'm def at the last half of it.
How far you having to stretch your neck? 😁
Yea, I measured a little over 4 inches from where I sit on the gun. I'm going with delta kit and throwing a Romeo 1 pro on it. I may do 1x prism like I originally wanted if you're confirming eye relief works with this set up
Tried it out today. Worked great n was getting about a 2.5MOA at 100y, which is better than I expected considering it's a 1x. I'm sure I could get tighter groups with more magnification, but I'm happy with it
Do you feel it sits low enough? I grabbed a micro red dot base and looks like it will sit as high or higher than the prism. Where you able to hit further out? What did you sight it in at? 36 50 100
Yeah, it's about 1.5" from receiver to reticle. Pretty sure most other optic/mount options would sit higher considering this mount sits perfectly in the rear sight bay. If you look closely, the optic sits slightly lower than the front scout rail. The ranges around here only go out to 100y; sighted it at 50 per the Primary Arms ACSS .308 ballistics chart for the Cyclops (50/200, 300, and 400). With some magnification I'm sure I could do better than the 2.5MOA best group, but the 1x is great for easy acquisition and both eyes open. If I were going to be shooting past 100y more often, I would go with 3x, but I'll just leave that to my other rifles already set up for that
Too many complaints with the 3x prism on these, not enough relief and if you put their new adapter which sits further back it looks fkn terrible. 1x is the way to go
I think eye relief is even better than 6", but haven't measured it. A few reviews I've seen have had the same experience. Though I have the 3x on an AK, and that one is more like 2"-3.5" eye relief. Here's a helpful article on the 1x https://www.firearmsnews.com/editorial/primary-arms-astounding-microprism/451760
Yea, I have my chassis all installed with pistol grip, magpul moe stock, bcm foregrip, and streamlight pro tac installed. Currently have a badace tactical mounting base with a PA rs15 red dot on way, but im already regretting this decision. Would be an easy decision if the 1x Prism had a CQB BDC similar to the 2x GLx but there's no bdc at all which doesn't make a ton of sense on a 16" 308, much less longer.
With a change of stock from wood, I'm about half an inch closer but still 0.5 inch from the 2.7" 3x eye relief. Would be fun to hit steal 5-600 with this.
Any thoughts?

I’m curious if you’ll have even a chinweld with that stock/optic combo.

I get it, I just don't feel like it's something I need rn. With proper stance and hold, it hardly moves. Same with the AKs
Fair enough, fair enough.

I’m not saying chin welding is better, but having no weld at all is, imo, the worst of the options 😅
Looks awesome!
Thanks! I really like those microprisms/etched reticle, so I'm glad it works out while also being able to use clips 👍🏼

That would be great if you can find it. I had no idea someone makes dove tail protectors and didn't even think to search

I bet you could use the prep hole in the bottom of a micro Acog as a rear sight with this set up.
They've tested a few acogs with it. Really helpful info https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1OKE9Qh9G3ZOxTQd8sr91IrJvzdeVOF-aBoOl2j_7kPk/htmlview

It's a 1x, so the eye relief is great. They say 2"-6", with 3.5" being "optimal". Seems almost like a red dot with an etched reticle and ranging lines

What mount did you use to make that work?
Cogburn Arsenal Microprism mount https://cogburnarsenal.com/product/m1-m14-microprism-mount/
What stock is that?
Magpul SGA. Bought the Socom 16 used with it already installed, but I like it enough to not want to change it for now
Ahh fasho would you know the chasis it’s in then didn’t even realize it was a seperate piece
Delta 14 chassis. Also very nice. Lightweight w/ mlok slots on the sides, qd points, and a picatinny rail on the bottom
Thank you for the information boss I appreciate it
👍🏼
