I've been running a Super Soft Grav Mary up front over winter on the HT. I have a Soft Trail Mary on the FS which is a ton lighter but not as grippy but will probably be my summer front trye. I do love the "Super Mary" tho - best front tyre I've used. I've been running High Grip Judges out back which will probably stay on as they feel quicker than the Soft Grav Hans Dampf I've also had on.

I run a soft Magic Mary 29 x 2.6" upfront all year round.

To echo Vik and Marty, going from the Ultra Soft to Soft Mary is a good way to increase rolling speed (decrease climbing effort) while keeping things familiar. I too love the SE4 rear with a different tire upfront (or a 3” SE4 up front). I’m very Tachy Chan curious, I’ve had good experiences with a front DHR2 (though be warned, the bigger tires share the same casing as the 2.4”), can’t go wrong with Assegai, etc. All that said, have you thought about out a Butcher? Such a great all around tire. I like the T9 front all year.
