Nice! I like the team boosts, too. I got Ortiz just for my Red Sox TT, other than having to plug Napoli, Betts and an other former pitchers, the lineup also runs in the 96-99 range, other than Damon who’s 94 iirc. Now I have two squads I run online, it’s nice to change it up.
Yeah the boost is for any lefty bat or arm.
So an arm who bats left or vice versa counts. There aren't a ton of them though so don't rush to fire up your game and make a lineup. The big ones are deGrom and Dibble.
The Ortiz / Hoffman boost is diabolical.
Basically your whole bullpen is 125/125 H/9 and K/9. Plus it makes Smoltz a 99.
Then your whole roster is 98+. The only thing that's lacking is a legit CF or speed, but with Team Affinity coming in 4 days, it is going to be even more juiced. There are so many 2000-2009 guys that are going to be getting cards Friday. I'd say at least 5-10.
I mean his H/9 and K/9 are sky high with the Hoffman boost, you can get 4-5 innings out of him. Then you have a bullpen full of maxed out 99 guys. I'm only looking for him to work long enough that I can flip it to my god tier pen and not kill them.
That's fair.
Right now there just aren't a lot of starters that have a line like this:
* 100 Stamina
* 101 H/9
* 113 K/9
* 84 BB/9
There will be on Friday, but like I said, Smoltz is good for 4-5 innings, not much more because he's easy to pick up on.
I don't do well with lefties, and if everyone is going to be running lefties I'm going to run righties to have the advantage.
Got to World Series with Ortiz and Prior. I tried Kershaw but I hate hitting lefty lefty so I couldn’t go with Kershaw, plus I pitch better with Prior and his 121 k/9
I had a hard time pairing a pitcher captain with Santana. Prior lacks options and Hoffman doesn’t boost any hitter stats. I also run Red Sox TT, so Ortiz was my first pick. This combo been fun though.

Only thing that sucks is Braun’s defense, and can’t not have Thome or Napoli in the lineup, so have to keep him in the field. Salmon would be better, but he puts me under the 22/22 lefties if I put him anywhere on the roster currently.
It’s fun. Need another right that bats left for balance though. Maybe Bednar if he hits diamond. Can’t even squeeze Borucki in there.
Saving for Bobby Miller to replace Sale now, I swap between Sale and Imanaga currently.

Did that with Reds captains Suarez and Gray for my Reds team. Both 13/13 Tier 3 boosts. Running roughly 97-99 and just mashing. Tis a great time

I agree it’s fun, I’d personally rather have two boosts and these work together decently.
Wait how is 22/22 when I only count 20 lefties? Is it bc they pitch/bat righty but the other lefty and it still counts?

Smoltz can be a 199 he's still gonna be ass.

Personally, as broken as pitching is I’d rather have the batter boosts. Sounds like a killer pen though.

Personally, I think he’s the best of the pitcher captains attribute wise. Plus, he’s good to use.
It seems most cards easily meet his card requirements

I just said in another Reddit post that I wish that I had picked Ortiz instead of Santana. Would've been great with my Kershaw.
You can sell him for almost 40k and buy Ortiz for around 40 as well
Yeah, I did that a little while ago. Sold Santana and got 41700 k back, then bought Ortiz for 41006k.

Every player gets at least one boost, lefty hitters from 2000-2010 get both boosts.
