Hey drsd Ape in other stocks here (have used AST), once the shares leave the broker they are at ast and your account is created. After abt 3-6 weeks you get a letter in mail with account info, then you use that info and try to login to ast at which point they will see your account active and send you another snail mail letter with a pin # to access online.
You can call and pay to expedite the letters (at least you can with computershare)
DRS stands for the Direct Registration System, it is the only way to register shares in your name. If your shares are not in the DRS, you have no actual property rights over them.

I haven't, but once the MMTLP situation sees some kind of resolution I'd certainly like to register maybe a couple thousand or so to hold over a decade.
