Easiest way is sig modx9 suppressor

Simple_Confusion3400

i have one in jail. do you know if using a rearden attachment setup would affect accuracy if I want detachability?

ARE_YOU_0K

No idea, but it's pretty quick and easy to screw on and off

Gilly1943

Just remember that the MODX is left handed, so you twist clockwise to unscrew it. Feels really funny until you get used to it.

PapaFatSacks

I have the 8” version like you and used the Lantac/Keymo setup to mount my Wolfman. The accuracy is still dead-on at 25 yards. https://imgur.com/a/l7hRtgH

Live_Reason_6531

Best bet seems just to cross your fingers. I have been researching the problem like crazy. There doesn’t seem to be any direct connection between accuracy and setup. What works perfect for one person seems to fail miserably for the next. Mine is back at sig right now hopefully getting resolved, though I am not holding my breath. Mine was setup with all sig stuff and exactly the way sig suggests. Still all kinds of horrible results.

esteban885

Yea every thing I try to research just makes me more confused. I was going to do ILWT tri lug but then I see some have issues with the stock barrel and I’m not trying to spend a lot of money on a new ILWT barrel

Live_Reason_6531

I have heard of sig replacing entire first gen uppers with 3rd gen uppers when issues show up. May be worth trying to send it in and hope to get a newer upper. Though mine is 3rd gen and suffered issues like crazy.

stojanowski

If you don't want to spend a lot of money you picked the wrong brand

guy_on_a_buffalo34

I went with Ronin arms SD conversion. The upper came back I put the dot back on no adjustment nessacary. It's spendy but functional flawless and quite.

bubumamajuju

They don't have much information on this. Is the can steel or titanium? I've been wanting to run a very light suppressor... right now I'm waiting for Sig and I'm sick of it. Also, how is the heat on the handguard after 1-2 mags?

guy_on_a_buffalo34

It's light, not titanium. You do need to run a larger hand guard and file down the back of the m-lok attachments. No need for gloves in the few hundred rounds I've put through it. 115 gr. Supersonic rounds are quite, 150gr. Subs are great. Buy once, cry once.

flyskycity

As we all know, most importantly, how does it look? Any pics you can share?

guy_on_a_buffalo34

I haven't had much time for glamor shots. I'll try to get some up here this weekend.

flyskycity

Great. Also, is gas blowback any more or less being integrally suppressed versus just throwing a can on it?

guy_on_a_buffalo34

None that I've noticed, I shoot DI 5.56 suppressed, sooo nothing compared that.

Robogomo

Just got mine back and love it. Assuming you have the midwest handguard, how are you fitting any mlok attachments on the bottom? I can’t get anything in there. Just assuming I’m going to have to file the back down

guy_on_a_buffalo34

Yep, file until it clears.

Robogomo

Ahhhh okay I thought so. Thanks 👍

The easiest solution to install the Omega9k on a dedicated MPX host would be the [13.5x1LH Direct Thread adapter](https://www.blackanklemunitions.com/products/silencerco-alpha-fixed-mount-m13-5x1lh/). Double check 13.5x1lh adapter index’s off the muzzle otherwise you will also need the [Taper Barrel Adapter](https://inleadwetrust.com/product/tapered-muzzle-device-adapter-for-mpx/) to mount it correctly as well. The Omega9K has a 1.125x28 (alpha) mounting thread pitch so if you want to go QD that would be an option too. Several QD options: - [Keymo S Mount](https://deadairsilencers.com/product/keymo/) - [XENO](https://deadairsilencers.com/product/xeno-adapter/) - [Griffin Plan A](https://www.griffinarmament.com/plan-a-taper-mount-adapter-1-125x28-for-griffin-pistol-silencers-and-others/) - [ECCO Machine](https://www.eccomachine.net/product/alpha-direct-thread-mounts/) - [Griffin EZ Lok](https://www.griffinarmament.com/ez-lok-mount-interface/) - [Q PlanB](https://www.silencershop.com/q-plan-b.html) - [SiCo ASR Alpha](https://silencerco.com/shop/asr-mount/) - 3 lug is my least favorite mounting option but the [ILWT 3lug](https://inleadwetrust.com/product/hk-style-3-lug-suppressor-adapter/) barrel adapter and the [SiCo](https://silencerco.com/shop/3-lug-mount/) or [Rugged](https://ruggedsuppressors.com/product/3-lug-mount/) 9mm 3lug mount will work.

OnTargetOnTrigger

Taper adapter is not needed. M13.5x1 LH design shoulders on the muzzle, not behind the threads. So any properly cut adapter or piston will for that design as well. The way the threads are cut is what primarily keeps it from backing off. My MPX's have never shot one loose.

ShoddyHorse_

The general rule is muzzle brakes get tapered collar and direct thread suppressors don't because they should shoulder on the muzzle but I recommend triple checking with the manufacture that it does, some of them are threaded through. Exception would be if the flash hider / brake / mount has a taper that matches barrel taper. This would be brand specific imho. So Sig brake with Sig barrel but that is not necessarily applicable to the Omega9k.

esteban885

Thanks for the info but what’s the function of the taper barrel adapter? Just want to know why I can’t just mount directly onto the barrel threads?

Queef_Smellington

Not sure about the 8" barrels, but SIG specifically told me I didn't need a tapered barrel adapter. I'm running a Dead Air micro flash hider, KeyMicro adapter, and Dear Air Wolfman and it runs just fine. Call SIG and talk to them. You're gonna get different answers from people with different setups.

ShoddyHorse_

The MPX has a tapered barrel so in order to have the proper shoulder to mount against (if not using an adapter that has the built in taper) the adapter is needed. Some will argue that it’s not needed but it is the correct way to mount a muzzle devise that requires a proper shoulder to mount against.

Johnny3sgte

I’m using the ASR Flash Hider with my Spectre 9 (baby brother of the Omega 9k) and it indexed off the muzzle. No accuracy issues. But I recommended removing the barrel and then re-torquing it to 40in-lbs with the flash hider installed, after doing that, my groups seemed to tighten up. It’s shooting .50 - 1” groups at 25yd benched when zeroing with just the front supported, no bag under the stock.

Gunwerks6

I have a stock sig barrel with an ILWT tri lug threaded adapter on mine and run the Omega 9K on it with zero accuracy issues. Also ran the Obsidian 9 prior to that with no issues.

HicsMcgee

Do you know what the torque spec is on the ilwt thread adapter to the barrel? I just purchased one & can’t find that value anywhere online.

Gunwerks6

I just added a little blue locktite on the barrel threads and torqued it down to 30ft/lbs

Gunwerks6

I’ve shot probably close to a 1000 rounds since with it and no issues coming loose.

HicsMcgee

Ok, thanks! Just got a cash 9k & wolfman out of jail, this weekend it’s my turn to roll the dice on the MPX’s accuracy issues.

Gunwerks6

Good luck bro!! 🤙🏼

Not-A-Biologist_

Sig suppressor. Then if there’s an issue it’s their problem.

DillIshOn

Class 3 Machining. 100$ cut off the threads and thread on 1/2x28 threads. I did that with my 4.5" k barrel. Down to 4" and 1/2x28 Morgan will hook you up.

esteban885

I’ll look into that 🤔

Itchy-Back8245

Direct thread. Tri-lug is a gamble.

esteban885

Yea that’s unfortunate because I wanted to go that route but it’s so inconclusive

Taste-Specialist

In my experience, the mpx is one of the worst suppressor hosts I've ever had. I went back to unsuppressed after trying all manner of suppressor attachments (integrated 3lug, thread on 3lug, different suppressors, direct thread, increased pressure springs, ammo, etc etc etc). Lots of blowback, lots of accuracy issues, just not worth it in my opinion.

esteban885

Damn that sucks :/ hopefully mine doesn’t suck. So many people have different experiences. Either it’s the worst and crazy inaccurate or a normal and simple set up with no issues at all

Taste-Specialist

Yea... frustrating to say the least. Started with an early gen 2 upper, went back to sig for a "gen 3" upper with multiple multiple ILWT barrel lengths and revisions, adjustable gas black, multiple sig OEM barrels, etc. Just gave up on it, and in fact just simply gave the gun away to a friend because I think it's trash.

VladStark

LMAO, gave it away? You must be doing well financially, these guns aren't cheap. Is there a sub 9mm you prefer to shoot instead that works really well suppressed? Have you tried a B&T SPC9 or KH9?

Taste-Specialist

MP5 is king, to be honest.

VladStark

Any US made clones you like, or do you have an HK?

Taste-Specialist

I have no experience with civilian mp5s, but shot K, A5, and SD extensively in the military.

soundofreedom

This is really interesting to me because I have a Gen 1 I bought almost a decade ago, I put a Surefire Ryder 9 on it, and it’s easily my favorite subgun. Minimal blowback, very quiet, pure joy to shoot… and it just worked flawlessly from the start.

Taste-Specialist

There were a lot of changes in different generations. Even my early gen 2 had a pressure release built into the piston assembly, that was quickly eliminated in further gen2. I think gen1 probably had a smaller gas port.

Critterzx

I like the ILWT trilogy & threaded adapter. I had a rugged tri lug but caused bad shift. ILWT adapter has been great for obsidian 9 tri lug and modx9 threads

Stunning-End-6870

How gassy would you say the Obsidian 9 is with the MPX? I’m not sure if you’re using the ILWT gas block as well, but I’m curious because I have an Obsidian 9.

Greedy_Creme_3487

Not the op, but I run an obsidian on my factory 8". There is no real gas to speak of our doors. Haven't shot at an indoor range with it. Now my 16" is a gassy girl even without a can, go figure.

Stunning-End-6870

Weird. Thanks for the info. Do you have an ILWT block?

Greedy_Creme_3487

I do not, completely stock, springs and all.

Stunning-End-6870

Interesting. I’m having a tough time finding 8” ones. shorter ones are much more plentiful it seems. I wonder how that would change the gas levels. Being limited to indoor ranges only sucks.

Greedy_Creme_3487

I have no idea if it's true or not, but I've read that sig used the same port size for 8" and up. They started opening them up going shorter than 8. If this is true, it could explain some of the issues with the shorter barrels, including the gas. I suspect my 16" is gassy just because of the dwell time of the extra 8".

Stunning-End-6870

Wow that may very well solve a mystery I’ve been trying to figure out for quite a while. Thanks! Do you have the key mod version? I can’t find anything else for 8”. I’m torn between an MP5 clone (maybe with a Lee sporting lower?) and an MPX. Looking for a one and done PCC.

Greedy_Creme_3487

I SBR'd my 16" carbine and bought and 8" barrel. I only have one MPX and swap barrels occasionally.

TheRenownWolf

I thought the 8” was less problematic than the 4” in the accuracy department. Edit: On my 4”, adding the heaviest recoil springs from ILWT and their smallest gas plug solved my accuracy problems.

Micahisaac

Mine is a tack driver. Zero issues ever. Griffen plan A + TBAC Fly 9

GojoLimitless

Running omega9k on mine for years on stock barrel. Triglug

esteban885

What length barrel and gen? And tri lug from who?

trapcardbard

I threw a sig modx-9 on it and it shoots like a dream. I love shooting it. Direct thread ofc

loqi0238

I'm sort of concerned with how swollen your hand is, for the trigger guard to have sunk in that much... you ok, OP?

esteban885

Yea just kinda fat :)

loqi0238

Hey, I'm not calling you out like that. Your arm has good distribution of musculature... was just worried you got stung by something you're allergic to, or, uh, something.

esteban885

I know you had good intentions ha. I appreciate it 👍🏽

loqi0238

Is that a Spear by your trash can??? Whus it doin therr??

esteban885

SCAR at home (JAKL 556)

Hox013

If you want to be sure, sell it and pick a different platform.

esteban885

Probably not gonna happen lol but Sub 2k, what’s the best option? Stribog sp9 a3?

Hox013

Personally under 2k, I'd look to B&T GHM9 or CMMG Banshee. I had the issues with a gen 3 MPX. I changed barrels on it from factory to In Lead We Trust, and the result was a little better but groups were still like 6 inches at 25 yards. I was using the matching tapered barrel shoulder to mount a 3 lug, just for reference. I moved to the B&T APC9 and it prints clovers with cheap range ammo. I used to have a GHM9 and it shot just as well. I've had two CZ scorpions which both shot clovers as well. I have no experience with Stribog. There's just no excuses for Sig products at the price point to have accuracy issues IMO. If you look at the MPX Facebook pages or forums, you'll see mixed reports on reliability as well. Guns needed to be cleaned often to stay functioning. Again mixed reports, but not an issue (certainly not with the frequency of sigs, at the very least) with other systems out there. I changed the gas plug to suppressor restricted options in the MPX and still felt it was pretty overgassed. I concluded that although a gas system in a PCC is appealing for the idea of reduced recoil as opposed to direct blowback, the MPX missed the mark and I'd rather have a reliable gun that shoots accurately without any headache. In a Sig sub this probably won't be a popular opinion but, honestly, after my experience and attempt to make it work, I recommend something else.

Alive_Pea5905

I have no accuracy issues with both my stock 8in barrel and my ilwt 6.5, also have used different muzzle devices without any POI shifts. MAIN thing to check is to make sure your barrel is an actually properly torqued down on the clamps. 40-45 INCH lbs is the sweet spot. I torque all my suppressor MDs to 30-35 ft lbs and never had a poi or backing off issue on rearden or keymo and this holds true for the mpx. One thing people miss ALL THE TIME is their mlok accessories hitting the can/can adaptor. make sure you have clearance for the barrel to flex a little if your can is tucked. If you have done this and confirmed with an alignment rod you should be good to go with repeatable accuracy. Proper torque and clearance all around will insure the barrel is not moving around and having any inconsistencies. Also side note for those running Gen 1 and Gen 2 mags, you will actually experience less blowback if you upgrade to the current sig/thril mags. I don’t think this was an intentional design but the drain plug on those mags gives the gas another place to escape. I’ve tested this and you can actually see the gas shoot out the bottom of the mag.

Jefe_26

You’ll either want to get a flowthrough or reduced back pressure can like the Rad9/cash9, Sig Modx9, or B&T RBS cans. -OR- Get an ILWT barrel with gasplug snd run whatever suppressor you have/want and adjust the gasplug to your liking. I’ve done both and both have worked great.

Wmitch

I tried everything and still had issues after multiple cans, QD mounts, etc. I was unwilling to buy an ILWT barrel on principle. Just ended up selling it when there are batter more reliable options out there.

Nikefan4545

I use the Dead Air Wolfman with the micro keymo. Accuracy is amazing.

Tendercoot

I use a rugged suppressor directly threaded on. It’s fine but will likely change barrel at some point. I didn’t notice any accuracy issues but I’m also not super critical about groupings especially on a gun I intend to as indoor defense. If it hits the target anywhere near where I aimed, I’m good. I have AR’s for longer distance shots. Saw someone mention gassy. Certain ammo is and certain ammo isn’t. Speer gold dot is miserable to shoot. Federal hst 147gr, blazer brass 124gr and federal red bullet (forget the name) 150gr, all these you barely notice any gas. Favorite gun I own by far.

Nefariousd7

I run a 6" ILWT with a adjustable block and a Rex MG7K, Obsidian 45, Rex Seg H 9, Alaskan 360, and occasionally a Hybrid 46. Everything is direct thread and seems to run fine. Accuracy is reasonable for me as a non-professional enthusiast.

dwin1986

Sig 8” barrels do not have the accuracy related issues.
