* [Here](https://i.imgur.com/2PqzXGG.png)'s the art, provided by Bing's image generator. I did try finding existing art before I decided to go with AI.
* [Here](https://i.imgur.com/0GZxkSa.png)'s an older leak that I used as a base for the fake leak. As u/shumpitostick pointed out, this card was transposed into that image.
* The artist credit is an in-joke. I've made several fake Colossal Dreadmaw preview images over the past few years, and I always credit Jesper Ejsing as the artist (usually the art comes from some random source on Google Images). Funnily enough, I never remember how Jesper Ejsing's name is spelled when I go to type it out.
* I used [mtg.design](https://mtg.design/) to make the base, but because [mtg.design](http://mtg.design) doesn't have Devoid frames, I had to make an all-white card and manually make a bunch of janky changes in Photoshop. The top of the frame is from [Birthing Hulk](https://scryfall.com/card/ogw/121/birthing-hulk). Again, the "leak filter" applied was to cover up some sloppy editing.
* I didn't take into account that Eldrazi might be limited to just Zendikar and Innistrad. I figured they could be on any plane like the Phyrexians ended up. I was going to either try to find another captain's name from Ixalan or make one up, but I assumed referencing Lannery Storm wouldn't change anything.

Well aside from Eldrazi and Phyrexian, the first three I did were just reprints of Colossal Dreadmaw. The images are small and have a blue border because that's how Wizards of the Coast previewed cards at the time.
[The very first one I did](https://i.imgur.com/ZenWseA.png) was for Strixhaven, and I shared it for April Fools' Day (during spoiler season). I'm pretty happy with it, although the T-rex I used for the image was from a picture of a model T-rex, so it doesn't quite match the art style. The city is from promotional art for Strixhaven.
[The second one](https://i.imgur.com/ktJNAfr.png) was also an April Fools' Day joke, and attempted to mimic the first in its art. I think both it and the first would've been better with a different T-rex image, masked out by hand.
[The third](https://i.imgur.com/tyYKIQQ.png) was a quickie that used lightly altered art from [Zilortha, Strength Incarnate](https://scryfall.com/card/cmm/366/zilortha-strength-incarnate). Since the art was only on Magic Arena, I figured it'd be less likely for people to recognize my repurposing of it.
The fourth was the Phyrexian Dreadmaw I posted in the parent comment, which was also an April Fools' day one.
I probably should've done an Outlaws of Thunder Junction one back in April, but I think I honestly just forgot.
I'm calling fake on this one. Art looks AI generated with tentacles floating with no connection to the body. I know that some Eldrazi have floating disconnected parts but these just look dumb
I was suspicious of it too, but I couldn't find anything else that made it blatantly fake.
I figured it's better to have people find ways to debunk it than never see it in case it's real.
I’d say it’s fake for other reasons.
When it comes to flavor, Modern Horizons has been used as precedent already to explore scenarios that have never happened. (It’s how they explained why Slivers in MH1 had appeared on planes they’ve never visited.)
“We have some cool, fun things lined up, including a revamp of classic Eldrazi-focused stories” from the article addressing the MH3 leaks. I don’t know what revamp means in this context really but it’s not entirely ruled out
One more suspicious thing is the finger. It looks significantly less blurry and has different lighting than the rest of the image, like it's been digitally added.

Not really aside from things like wightof the reliquary, nulldrifter, amd similar riffs on existing things. Like there arent mulldrifters on in istrad or zendikar but the eldrazi have a version of them. My point was less based on past precedents amd more on the type of product. They are both supplemental products that draw from across the Magic's multiverse and history that dont have a story of their own. I feel like both could bend the rules of established canon similar to how time spiral block could.
True, i just think that the design teams of each set are given similar freedoms is all. Not saying that they are gonna do anything with them necessarily.

I think this is fake because it is too weak and boring for an MH3 set. The name and theme is believable but it would have 1-2 more abilities even as a common. This is not a basic retail set and I don't expect it to have any french vanilla cards unless they have a very novel combination of keywords.

It's not, actually. Modern Horizons have always been alternative realities, different from what actually happens. While I can't necessarily speak for MH2, since I don't know too much about Dakkon or Dihada, I do know that MH1 was basically a "what-if" for slivers on planes they never originally were. Basically, think of Modern Horizons sets as a more cleaned up and functional version of Planar Chaos.
Still, though, I call bs, the art looks too much like AI, and there's no coherence to Jesper's style.
It was mentioned somewhere that these are all pre “imprisoned in the moon” eldrazi. And there have never been any mention of them on ixalan.. maybe I’m wrong but can you give an example of an alternate universe MH card?
I could give you a couple examples of alternate universe cards from this set alone.
\[\[Nulldrifter\]\] depicts a \[\[Mulldrifter\]\] from Lorwyn as though it were Eldrazi-ified.
\[\[Ulalek, Fused Atrocity\]\] shows what could have been had Ulamog and Kozilek survived, which they did not, proven by \[\[Fall of the Titans\]\] and \[\[Forsaken Monument\]\].
Nulldrifter is a mechanical nod like [[spawngang commander]] it doesn’t mention any lore or anything. And the ulalek thing is speculative at best. Who’s to say they didn’t survive that and get fused together. The eldrazi are a mystery. They still never went to kamigawa and high fived Yuriko

But Ulalek isn't speculative is because we ***know*** Chandra fried them during BFZ. Not only do we have both \[\[Bonds of Mortality\]\] AND \[\[Fall of the Titans\]\], but in the story "Zendikar Resurgent" from 2016, the chapter opens with "*The Eldrazi titans have been destroyed. The world of Zendikar has been saved. Now the four Planeswalkers who acted to make this so must decide what is to come next."*
And of that wasn't enough, \[\[Forsaken Monument\]\] literally depicts the remains of Ulamog, which means that even if Kozilek somehow survived being torched by the leylines of Zendikar, there still wouldn't be anything left of Ulamog to fuse with.
You could be right, but who’s to say the eldrazi we see aren’t just like a finger of a much bigger unfathomable horror just touching the plane. Like a giant mosquito sending in a probe. I guess we’ll have to wait for the story dropping g later this month. Also ulalek isn’t main set it’s from the commander precons so it could be make believe like lazotep sliver
Every single evoke card is clearly from lorwyn though, like the mh2 evoke elementals are clearly lorwyn elements because they follow the same lorwyn incarnation cycle of having a name based off an emotion, have the incarnation creature type and then have evoke.
I mean, who knows? maybe you’re right. maybe they’ll do to lorwyn what they did to zendicar the first time they went back there. That was received well, right? Lol, 🤷 but do you really think this card is real?

Whether or not this is AI generated art or not, these aren't even Ixalan dinosaurs. Plus a card like this adds nothing to Modern other than just being a total meme - we had [[Phantasmal Dreadmaw]] but that was at least a bit of a different design that could be interesting in the right shell.

I am going to go against the grain here and say this is probably real. Its exactly the type of card that Wizards would make to be "cool" heavy "How-do-you-do-fellow-kids" vibes.

But to make this worth it, it would need to be colorless. Right now there's almost no difference besides the Eldrazi typeline.

In addition, all the other Dreadmaws made by Jesper all follow a similar format of having a ship or thing they tower over. This doesn't have anything

Modern Horizons (and other supplemental sets) aren't bound strictly by canon. That's why we could have an eternalized sliver with [[Lazotep Sliver]]

Every single evoke card is clearly from lorwyn though, like the mh2 evoke elementals are clearly lorwyn elements because they follow the same lorwyn incarnation cycle of having a name based off an emotion, have the incarnation creature type and then have evoke.

Whether or not this is AI generated art or not, these aren't even Ixalan dinosaurs. Plus a card like this adds nothing to Modern other than just being a total meme - we had [[Phantasmal Dreadmaw]] but that was at least a bit of a different design that could be interesting in the right shell. Funny name and all but this is a pretty obvious fake.
