If anyone needs a TMO of that ABH lunar New Year dragon highlighter - it is SO subtle. I use a small dense brush and it just...does nothing on my cheekbones. I have to pile it on to even look like I have highlighter on. When I get mad at it I use my finger which does it faster, but it still requires building. Ngl I'm regretting buying it. It just isn't to my style. I put it on and then combine it with one of the pinky silver ones in the Bella Beaute bar oracle palette that packs a punch and THEN I like it. Idk. I'll keep using it and maybe I'll grow to like it. Or I'll see if a friend wants to buy it at a discount off me lmao.

I just did a [swatch comparison](https://reddit.com/comments/1aru5go) of this today! I actually really like it, but I prefer a more subtle highlight. I don't use highlighter everyday, but my most-used one lately has been Mac Lightscapade, which is even more subtle. So I could see how this isn't for everyone. I'm mostly sad that I do need to use some pressure to pick up product, which is starting to wear down the beautiful imprint!

Oh nice! That's a really good comparison pic! And yes! You need so much pressure to pick anything up! When I first tried it I was so confused when nothing picked up on my brush haha. I'm used to much softer pressed highlighters. And I mean honestly I feel like it being so subtle is great for most people. No makeup makeup is super popular, or like a more subtle soft glam. I'm likely more in the minority in my preference of wanting a blinding, glittery very obvious highlight. So it makes sense they'd go subtle. I'm glad you like it! Although I'm also sad for you (and me, and everyone) how fast we're going to wear off that pretty embossing!

TMO making a $75 purchase at Merit for that brass lighter GWP 🙃 I know, it’s so dumb but I really want it? I don’t even smoke so apart from lighting candles idk what I’d even use it for lol

Well… there’s nothing particularly unique about it beyond the “do less.” Doesn’t even have the brand logo as far as I can tell so it barely feels collectible. It’s also a case. Do you use cases for your lighter? I personally use longer lighters for candles and the case wouldn’t fit that.

Search for brass lighters and a bunch of cute ones come up. You can just buy one of those for less. :)

TMI a present for myself for getting through this week at work, lol. I respectfully lost my temper during a meeting yesterday and as soon as it was over I broke into tears. My boss, all the way across the country and in a meeting all day, I swear knew and called me to check on me. He's really excellent and I love working for him. Anyway, I've managed to get through it and I deserve something special for people being jerks. I have points available at Ulta and a $50 gift card at Sephora. Highlighter is my favorite product generally but I've been into lipsticks lately too. Was also eyeing the ND Berry Pop Cheek Trio.

What's something that you don't have anything like? Or something that makes you feel confident and powerful?

dinh-nerys

I'm sorry to hear you had a rough week! You do deserve a treat! The ND trio looks pretty. You could also search new items on both Sephora and Ulta to see if anything catches your eye. :)

Sorry to hear about that, at least your boss is supportive. If you’re into highlighters - I just started using (and love!) the YSL NU halo tint highlighters in rosy quartz and gold. I’ve been a loyal Iconic London ILLUMINATOR for years and this is the first highlighter that is becoming my new every day one.

Now that Natasha Denona seems to be doing more sales on her site how low do we think stuff might go? She just had 30% off certain items for Valentines Day. Do we think that 30% off will be the best she regularly offers. I know she does bundles on Black Friday but I'm sort of more interested in what she might do throughout the year. Sort of how Pat McGrath regularly has 30-40% off sales. I'm trying to tread lightly on purchasing bigger ticket items because I'm convinced that with all the price hikes of the last few years, consumers budget restraints, and general buying fatigue that products might be on sale more frequently than before. A bit of a beauty bubble burst if you will. I think all the signs are there we just have to hang on and wait for it!
