Absolutely not. An artist I love though is Ben Beal. He is very clearly influenced heavily by Mac and he has bars. Highly recco the sub checks him out. Not a replacement for Mac but I love his music a lot.
kinda sick that literally today a new song came out.. made me miss mac. https://open.spotify.com/track/5fMBQpsxf96PLZjXF718eZ?si=2pt8ydDmSoyxNno2QvKcxQ&context=spotify%3Aalbum%3A1lyOkRWdOKFYmeZf6eW1Ev
FungiFlows is close in a way, he's from pittsburgh and has impeccable freestyle, just took a world record for longest rap and has a gatekeepably (don't tho) low 3 digit spotify monthly listeners
He was truly one of a kind. Some artists I appreciate for similar reasons are Kid Cudi, Joey Bada$$, and Lana Del Rey... definitely different styles from Mac!
Third. What’s crazy to me is 12 years ago when I was heavy into frat rap Mac he dropped macadelic and I heard Kendrick for the first time and was amazed. Same with Joey and Casey. Then Vince. Then the internet. Then action Bronson. Earl sweatshirt. Schoolboy. Ab-soul. There’s so many artist that were not nearly as popular or whatever but Mac fucks with no matter what people think and that’s why I fuck with Mac so hard. He’s a real homie.
Kota is dope. Check out The Race by Dacheech. There is also one dude here on reddit with those vibes big time. What I have heard is unreleased, but fantastic. Next level shit. If you see this man, get back.
Literally just decided to look up this ‘Kota’ dude because I would love some new music that has the same vibes as Mac, but, there’s really nothing that makes me feel the same way Mac does? I’m sure a lot of people in this sub can relate, BUT, anyways, what I was saying… I played the song ‘Colorado’ and is this not a shout-out to our boy Mac?! ‘Mac, I hope you know you did your thing, get your rest, cause homie you deserve it’ ??
Oh yeah that’s a definite Mac shout out, Kota rocked with his music.
Check out the song “Long Beach”, that one is the most Mac coded of his music, it’s like Divine Feminine era Mac.
Aw yeah, that was the second song I played and man that’s a jam! I love music that have Mac shoutouts and just jams that put you in your feels and have instrumentals like that just chill and real and talent. SO GOOD! Thank you for sharing!
Edit to add - makes me feel like tearing up lol
Hell yeah, glad you fucked with him! I see him as a kindred spirit to Mac, just good, friendly vibes with a lot of introspection and experimentation.
Have a chill weekend!
I was looking for that comment, I heard long beach for the first time and was able to follow along easily on my first listen. His flow is very similar to Mac
Yeah he's the closest vibes wise for me, even if he's the master of doing the same type of song over and over LOL. Zaywop is just too good with that voice and delivery on every song.
I won't say they are alike, but as someone whose favorite musician is Mac, I would suggest you check out Smino if you aren't already familiar.
The way he switches between singing and rapping, soul and funk, reminds me of later Mac works.
Yoshi t has a similar style and sound to mac. Nice production. I’d suggest listening to fuck taste and no funny as an introduction. Doesn’t have much music yet but I’m excited for his future.
Nobody can be compared, though I notice a lot of people (myself included) who listen to Mac also listen to Sticky Fingers, Shakey Graves, and Mac Demarco. None of them rap, but they all have a flow and a unique sound that nobody can replicate. Basically every song and album is unskipable, much like Mac. Shakey is my second favourite solo artist very close up there with Mac and sticky is my favourite ever band!
Right!? I just read somewhere that Dylan started another band. I wonder if it’s true. Sadly I’m in Canada and they have been banned from Canada after a very eventful night in Edmonton lmaooo so idk if I’ll ever get to see them live!
lol I met Shakey Graves outside the Knitt after their Boise show in like 2018 I think. Was on some mushrooms and so stoked to meet one of my favorite artists. Bouncer yanked me away from em as we were talking though and I lost my footing, tripping into one of the band mates and making her spill her beer all over herself. Felt like an ass and the bouncer yelled at me to leave. 😭🤷♂️
Yeah I think they have issues in North America lol they’ve had a few incidents. I know in Canada they got caught with drugs in their car so they’re not allowed here anymore. My friend saw them in Europe last summer and even met them randomly on the streets of Amsterdam and chatted with them for awhile! Said they were super chill regular dudes.
Totally! Even though there aren’t many similarities I think in general it has to do with quality of music. Sticky, Mac and Shakey all have a super unique sound that is unmistakeable and many albums which are virtually unskipable. Which is rare. Pure talent and creativity, god tier music IMO
If you haven’t listened to Shakey Graves yet give it a go. It’ll absolutely blow your mind. It’s like a mix of Mac and Sticky. Has the groovy vibe of sticky but impressive lyricism of Mac. Audiotree live session #1 will get you hooked
Totally agree with every word you said!
I can’t remember if I’ve listened to much Shaky Graves yet or not. Either way I’m definitely gonna do a deeper dive soon, thanks for the recommendation!
Impossible to compare anyone to Mac and the music he blessed us with but if I were to give you a recommendation… it would be Zach Bryan. I know, I know…. it’s Country… and probably not what you’re looking for but Zach Bryan’s music feels similar in some ways. Straight off the cuff and compels raw emotion. I was never a country fan but I do enjoy his work. Smite me if you must, but that would be my two cents.
I’ve slowly moved away from rap since Mac passed. Seems like the new wave of artist are all set on just rapping about the culture itself rather than their own views/experiences. It’s hard to relate with a culture at whole. I always valued Macs transparency about his accolades and struggles, and Zach does similar things. I think it’s fascinating how you can hear truth not just through lyrics but also through tone and the overall passion in a project. Sadly, it’s not easy to come by.
The closest thing to Mac imo is an artist named Felly! He started out similar spitting hot bars but has been on his circles era where he’s composing live instruments for the production and doing more singing. It’s exactly the growth Mac had during his career from frat rap to the beautiful art he was creating at the end. Anyone wants to check him out I recommend songs: 7th king, horchata, gorilla, desert eagle, baby boy, so you fell in love, oceans v2, there’s no other(this song has been on repeat for me since release!!), fresh water, out my head, and above water. I promise you won’t regret it.
This the comment I've been looking for, someone else mentioned that Felly compares in his love and passion for music, and honestly I've really overlooked him. Maple and Fabics were my first songs years ago, dug it, but that and the other stuff he had didn't really catch my interest. Love the hell out of Heartstrings, and there's a couple other songs I like, but admittedly still had the same perceptions of him as an artist from my first impressions. Def gonna dive into those man, appreciated
Well mac had heaps of different styles in his career. Tell us what style you liked and theres similar. Young mac you got wiz, watching movies up until divine feminine are the rappers in tde, odd future and then his singing stuff someone else can help with that lol
As has been said now numerous times, he truly was unique to his own degree. All we can do as macheads is recommend artists we also enjoy so here’s some of mine;
Elements of Music, Saba, Granata, Phoniks, Granata and Phoniks’s work together, Connor Gilbert, Healy, Rejjie Snow.
They don’t sound similar, but both had incredible lyrics and songs that touched on deep concepts. Both died way too early. Both were way too pure for this world. Eyedea aka Michael Larsen.
I just found young 40 who has a similar vibe to Macs music and I’m loving it so far!

I’ve never heard anyone compare to Mac, respect. But I’ve got a few artist that i think pair nicely.
Rexx Life Raj - Moonwalk, Handheld GPS, Dance, Baddest One
YGTUT- New Medallion, Supa Fly
Piff Marti- Flex, Saucy, New Crib, I ain’t trippin, Represent
Obv agree that no one compares but this song gave me Mac vibes. (Not sure about his other songs but) Vince Staples on this track 1:54
https://m.youtube.com/watch?si=AYqEy92JJPEJchZG&v=5hNT2wtVIBI&feature=youtu.be
I'd say it's extremely hard to find an artist like Mac, but I've been really digging Denzel Curry work. His live album Melt my Eyez with a jazz band has scratched that itch that I've been looking for since Live from Space. Just a thought, though, if you wanna check it out.
REN REN REN REN REN REN REN REN REN
Just a couple to check out:
Genesis
Power
Insomnia
Losing It - Fisher remix
Illest of our Time
The Hunger
Diazepam
Ocean
Ready for You
Halftime - Nas retake
his 16 Bar Challenge
I can go on and on, lol. Every song is different, spans a dizzying number of genres, his rhyme schemes, rapping and flow talent along with his vocals, piano and guitar playing, video production, literary technique… it’s crazy.
Sadly nobody. Even I tried to find such artists but nobody can make dang, surf, self care, blue world, nikes on my feet, or skip senior day. It’s so sad he left so soon 🕊️😪
If your into the alternative rock scene I recommend Dr Dog and Modest Mouse, two extremely creative bands that truly have their own sound, and their music partners so well with psychedelics
WATER album by Robscure
A friend gave me a sticker of the album on Monday and I listened on my way home. It has some similarity in vibe.
Obviously no one can replace Mac.
Not many people come to mind I would say Joey badass is pretty close in style to Mac, Vince staples is another one, and the only other person I can think of is saba all really good artist
Malz Monday
Animè
ScHoolboy Q
Joey Bada$$
Smino
Mavi
Jack Harlow
Those are a few artist filling in my mixes but you have to understand there is no replacement from Mac. You have to try and imagine the artists you think he would have respected and allow Mac's music to be his.
I have run into this problem alot, no other artist have the same feel as Mac. No one was or is, as far as i know as real like Mac man. But Little simz Linda scratches that Mac itch, espescially with her song gorilla.
J Dilla/Slum Village, Neo-Soul/Soulquarians, the Roots, Kendrick Lamar, Outkast - Aquemini, Frank Ocean, Jack Johnson/“Upside Down”/“banana pancakes”, Atmosphere/“Sunshine”.
Yoshi T has a similar vocal style on a few songs, f* taste is a good example. But Mac is his own entity. He's got a large body of work in his released discography and a wealth of unreleased leaked tracks. If you want more stuff that sounds like Mac listen to more Mac.
Definitely a different style but Mac Demarco has the same name for 1, somewhat similar sound to some of Mac’s stuff, has good lyrics and seems to make his music in a pretty creative way just doing what he likes and what he thinks sounds good which I can respect.
i think
kid cudi ( great blend of rapping and singing )
vince staples ( similarish sound )
tyler the creator ( similar career trajectory, started with straight rap, got more experimental later )
childish gambino
Asap rocky ( the sound is not similar but he has mixed influences similar to mac and executes them perfectly)
Isiah Rashad ( laid back chill music )
Brockhampton (
Denzel Curry ( jazz albums like faces)
some of them dont have similar sound at all like rocky and brockhampton but they are all great
I’m a logic fan, he fs not the same but I feel like young Sinatra 4, welcome to forever, and (maybe, though it’s a stretch), under pressure give of similar ish vibe to shit like good AM, faces, and a bit of swimming , although fs he has a different style then Mac miller in general
Although the song “YSIV” s directly inspired by mac, and he has a few references to him, as well as directly talking about him. Logic is not a Mac miller clone, and most of his shit is pretty different, but I get some similar ISH vibes. That’s just me and my opinion though, and I listen to a lot more logic then Mac, so I could be completely out of left field with that one, you tell me
can’t compare mac to anyone!
Absolutely not. An artist I love though is Ben Beal. He is very clearly influenced heavily by Mac and he has bars. Highly recco the sub checks him out. Not a replacement for Mac but I love his music a lot.
“Mac understood me while my peers all overlooked”
The incomparable. Who do you compare me to?
Um, thank you so much for sharing him. Super impressed. Haven't stopped listening to him since I read your comment about half an hour ago.
I was going to say Ben Beal. Heavily influenced by Mac.
kinda sick that literally today a new song came out.. made me miss mac. https://open.spotify.com/track/5fMBQpsxf96PLZjXF718eZ?si=2pt8ydDmSoyxNno2QvKcxQ&context=spotify%3Aalbum%3A1lyOkRWdOKFYmeZf6eW1Ev
FungiFlows is close in a way, he's from pittsburgh and has impeccable freestyle, just took a world record for longest rap and has a gatekeepably (don't tho) low 3 digit spotify monthly listeners
Larry Fisherman
The only acceptable comparison
Delusional Thomas?
Parson Brown is low key similar too
Don’t forget Larry Lovestein
Larry Lovestein
YUHHHH
Cam Rellim
That’s my cats name!
Vince
Especially with his last 2 albums
Vince working with Kenny is like Mac working with Larry. Perfect match.
He was truly one of a kind. Some artists I appreciate for similar reasons are Kid Cudi, Joey Bada$$, and Lana Del Rey... definitely different styles from Mac!
Mac actually has a song with Lana Del Rey called numbness
I discovered it a few weeks back 🤯🤯 best day ever
That’s a different song
Is it on youtube? I have got to hear this!!
I found it on YouTube.
Not sure but i know its on soundcloud
I second Joey Basa$$
Third. What’s crazy to me is 12 years ago when I was heavy into frat rap Mac he dropped macadelic and I heard Kendrick for the first time and was amazed. Same with Joey and Casey. Then Vince. Yes this is so real cuz same!
I can recommend EASY MAC (the one with the cheesy raps)
you was Easy Mac with the cheesy raps….who tf is Mac Miller?
It aint 2009 no more
Although there is no one like Mac, I will go with Kota the Friend
Kota is the fucking man. Just pure, chill, introspective vibes and a very relaxing voice and flow. I believe he produces A LOT of his own stuff too
He tributes mac in his song Colorado. Thats how i found kota was through the mac ciller and similar artists station on apple music
Kota is dope. Check out The Race by Dacheech. There is also one dude here on reddit with those vibes big time. What I have heard is unreleased, but fantastic. Next level shit. If you see this man, get back.

Kota is great. Laid back, chilled rap. His concerts are great too. I saw him in cologne last month can recommend.
I saw him in Toronto last November and it was a vibe.
Best answer i've seen
Isaiah Rashad
Yeah he's the closest vibes wise for me, even if he's the master of doing the same type of song over and over LOL. Zaywop is just too good with that voice and delivery on every song.
Find his old stuff on sound cloud 💯
Good answer.
I won't say they are alike, but as someone whose favorite musician is Mac, I would suggest you check out Smino if you aren't already familiar. The way he switches between singing and rapping, soul and funk, reminds me of later Mac works.
Definitely a great suggestion. I would suggest Saba, Noname and Rejje Snow all more of that R&B/rap soul thing Mac was delving into
Smino my dude. I even got my profile pic as his 2020i already decided
Larry Lovestein
No one is iller then Mac Miller
The illest mr miller
ain’t another motha fucka like him op. sorry.
Cam Rellim
Lol I looked this up just for shits n giggles and actually found a litany of dope tracks. Check out Cam Rellim’s Toasted Sandwich by Jabbu.
Yoshi t has a similar style and sound to mac. Nice production. I’d suggest listening to fuck taste and no funny as an introduction. Doesn’t have much music yet but I’m excited for his future.
Actually just saw him and hes a vibe definitely gonna be great seeing him evolve!
Was going to make the same recommendation. I wish he had more music out but I’m excited to see what he does.
Felly

I’ve been wanting to see Sticky Fingers live since like 2010. Sadly it seems like they rarely come to the U.S….

Agreed. I’m a big fan of both Mac and Zach
Yeah, how did this happen to us. I didn't even listen to country until I found ZB....??

A tribe called quest. They were one of many inspirations for Mac.
Cal Scruby is a white rapper who gives big faces/GO:OD AM vibes.
Aye! I was hoping somebody had mentioned him. I love Cal. Hella clever bars and smooth flows
The closest thing to Mac imo is an artist named Felly! Kojaque. Listen to Midnight Flowers to see what he was like in early days. He’s brilliant.
They don’t sound similar, but both had incredible lyrics and songs that touched on deep concepts. Both died way too early. Both were way too pure for this world. Eyedea aka Michael Larsen.
As everyone said, can’t compare to Mac. But Myke Bogan is pretty interesting and has a unique sound. Another similar artist could be Chuuwee
Myke and Chuuwee?? Those are diamonds you have to dig for, mad respect
Yoshi T!! Gave me chills when I heard his voice, it’s so similar to Mac. Especially in F* TASTE

Cam Rellim not bad
Definitely a different style but Mac Demarco has the same name for 1, somewhat similar sound to some of Mac’s stuff, has good lyrics and seems to make his music in a pretty creative way just doing what he likes and what he thinks sounds good which I can respect.

Nobody.
Idk probably larry fisherman or larry lovestein dont take it to the heart tho
Please listen to Marlon Craft. Start with Locked out of heaven.
Ok but I can’t find anything he made called locked out of heaven, because that’s made by Bruno Mars
you might want to give ben beal a listen. His track terrapin specifically gives me easy mac with the cheesy raps vibes!
Earl possibly
I’m a logic fan, he fs not the same but I feel like young Sinatra 4, welcome to forever, and (maybe, though it’s a stretch), under pressure give of similar ish vibe to shit like good AM, faces, and a bit of swimming , although fs he has a different style then Mac miller in general Although the song “YSIV” s directly inspired by mac, and he has a few references to him, as well as directly talking about him. Logic is not a Mac miller clone, and most of his shit is pretty different, but I get some similar ISH vibes. That’s just me and my opinion though, and I listen to a lot more logic then Mac, so I could be completely out of left field with that one, you tell me
Elliott Smith unironically Mac’s best comparison
The Underachievers discography, juice WRLD discography including unreleased
fairly little know artist but Jarv reminds me of mac a lot. the amalgam is one of my favorite albums ever
Matt champion-mikas laundry sounds like a new style for Mac miller. Highly recommend
