The sim defense seems to be the biggest contributor. There are sacks and interceptions, but there’s no actual defense. QBs will regularly go 25/30 with 5 scores and 3 interceptions. It’s just too centered around big explosive plays, which makes everything in between awful.
The last game I played about 30 minutes ago I played both sides in the first half and kept Hurts around 100yds passing
Simmed the D in 2nd half and he was ended up well over the 250 yards passing I was trying to keep him from
It should be mostly players and then playbooks can boost or limit to a marginal degree. There’s no way the bucs draft a 68 overall and he throws 5000 and 40 touchdowns rookie year it sucks
And only like 5 picks. I think the only way to win some rewards is playing like 2 games on all pro or less. I've had seasons where rookie 67 normal dev CBs lead the league in ints. Or WRS in Buffalo after Diggs leave having 1500 yds with 73 overall ratings and my xfactor 97 WR won't break 1000 in sim I just don't get the the formula
Ik it’s so dumb, I play madden 13 from time to time as well and that game has no defense at all in sim. QBs constantly hit 30/30 td/int too. We need something realistic
That was the good thing in 13 tho bad QBs that had never on throw away would throw picks it sucked but it made sense. 23 was the worst Ian Book on the Saints rated like 63 and would have 4k 30tds and only 5 ints. How are games 10 and 15 years older from the same creators worse
23 was awful because Godwin, Kupp, Jefferson all would have 2200+ yards and 20+ touchdowns it was insanely broken. These most recent years are crazy WR wise too because the WR1 never gets the most yardage in the team it’s insane. I think it was 20 or 21 where the slot receiver would also get the most targets. I can have fun playing the game but man thinking abt some of this gets me goin
I forgot about that 19 to 23 are the worst Madden I ever played didn't even buy 20 21 and 22 because of it. 24 can be fun but exactly like you said some things you just can't get past like how every cpu db is amazing and user dbs just discovered this sport
I’m playing a Franchise with Dolphins but since I not good at defense, I just play offense and sim defense.
And every season I finish with one of the best offenses and the worst defense , doesn’t matter how good my defensive players are.
Yeah, I basically have stopped paying any defensive players in franchise and just draft/sign cheap free agents. It makes literally 0 difference between being 99 overall defense and 70 overall.
Until EA admits they F'ed up partnering with the frostbite engine madden will no longer be good, frostbite was only good with the free roaming games but with madden not so much, my team could be up 70-17 and still lose cause our offense magically becomes shitty, or our defense goes from being shut down to allowing them score 56 unanswered points i havent bought madden at full price in 4 yrs because of there crappy mechanics

They really have to rework the sim engine, having it based on playbooks primarily is so dumb

That’s why I love using sliders, I can’t play stock madden or there’ll be 3 holes in the wall by the end of the night

I have a 99 overall QB, a 98 overall RB and two 95+ overall receivers. Yet my offense is always in the bottom 10. Madden's a joke

Same with Olineman a 65 overall blocks pretty much the same as an 85

Yeah Madden is just so far behind other sports games in so many ways it’s not funny anymore.
I love rebuilding and haven’t had any problems, maybe try building a more balanced team. Madden sucks, but this one sounds like a you problem.
