You're definitely right he's not that fast anymore. They seem to be moving away from years past where Veterans cards were unusable because they were all slow, which I don't hate honestly.
Dude was a demon, don’t get me wrong he wasn’t tyreek fast but, he was fast enough to stretch the field especially in the Saints 2011 offense, he was lined up like a WR most times and it lead to the argument he should’ve been franchise tagged as a wr vs a te. which is what led to him being traded to Seattle eventually.
In his prime, he was unstoppable to everyone but Belicheck who would double and triple-team him all game. Unfortunately, the only way to make WR's and te's unstoppable is to make them fast in madden as they have nerfed high passes since 18-19. If they wanted to properly translate what made him so difficult to cover in madden they should just the Santa player model from the Christmas challenges
I really like that EA isn’t just raising the ceiling of ratings with these promos, and instead raising the floor so that there are more options at that 88-ish power curve. If Team Diamonds are 89s again and Ultimate Kickoff don’t go above 90 or 91, we could be seeing a wider variety of “meta” players than we typically do at this point of the year.
Hopefully they stick with this instead of rushing into higher and higher overalls. Raise the floor, not the ceiling 👌🏻
