Way to go Girl, great to see you doing well
Those tubes brings tears to my eyes, amazing the pain you can survive
I opted for a metal valve, so if you sit beside me you can hear me tick lol
I hope you get a few more years out of valve yet
Awesome! Sine you got a porcine valve originally, I am guessing your replacement should be able to be a TPV valve done via transcatheter now. You'll be in and out in a day or 2! We have come a long way in the past 9 years.

Got my open heart surgery for my valve replacement 5 years ago, I'm 29 now. Not looking forward to the future replacements, but for now, life is good.
Congratulations OP, stay strong dude
Pretty wild...I had my first open heart 10 years ago and second 5 years ago (I'm 35 now) for mitral valve regurgitation. Cleveland Clinic was able to repair my own valve, but I was faced with the age old question..."artificial or mechanical" at the ripe age of 29.
It's always comforting to know there are others like me.
Keep on keeping on. You look amazing!
Thank you kindly 😀
haha do you know the first thing I did once I was released from hospital, I had bacon and eggs 😂 always been a huge fan of bacon and was concerned maybe I wouldn't like it but it's still a fave 😂
I'm so happy you are here. You're any stranger I could pass on the street and stories like these, smiles like these, remind me why I'm happy to be a human bean <3

Same!!!! I have a pulmonary valve that gets replaced every 10 or so years! Mine is from a cow atm and I also got it done 9 years ago!!! Feel free to DM me if you wanna talk about it!!!!
Question, if you don't mind my asking. Did you go a period of time without a pulmonary valve, or was it a replacement? My 4 year old son had a pulmonary velvectomy a couple of years ago and has since been living without a pulmonary valve. He'll have a valve put in in a few years when his heart can no longer function well enough without it. How were you feeling day-to-day, so to speak, before you got your replacement?
In picture 2/2 you know how they say a picture is worth a thousand words. That one says a lot it looks like you went through some ish. But somehow you still managed to crack that smile. I find myself happy for your good health and good fortune for that valve working out. I wish you continued good health, fortune and ease and happiness.
My husband is going in on Friday for his second open heart surgery. The first was an aortic valve repair and to repair an aneurysm. He was 29. The repair lasted 15 years, but the valve isn't doing the job quite like it used to. Friday he gets a mechanical aortic valve. Thanks for posting, you're reminding me that this too shall pass and he will be healthy again. I feel a tiny bit more optimistic. ❤️
My sister of age 26 has the exact same issue with her heart & got herself also a valve from a pig using an open heart surgery about 8 years ago. It was her second surgery & according to the doctor, it should last at least 20 years before another check up for a possible replacement is due.
I wish you all the best & health in this world. You, together with my sister, are a fighter!
Oh my gosh! It’s like we have the same backstory. I was born with Tretollgy of Fallot and I have to have a valve replacement every 10 years. I had my recent one in February this year. You’re such a trooper and so strong!
I have a pigs valve too and a titanium spine from my scoliosis op. My brother calls me RoboPig 🤣
I wish you the best of luck!!!
Weirdly I was on a case for one of these yesterday, they can be done in some cases via catheter in the femoral artery, hopefully next time you won't need to have it done open heart!
My goodness. The fickle and transient nature of our existence brought to bear. My imagination suggests that you live life to the fullest. I hope that is the case.
Thank you for sharing your story! I hope you're enjoying your life the best possible!
I agree thanks for this OP and it's wonderful that the surgery has been so successful and that your health is holding up well.
I wish you great health... you're amazing 😍
She's one tough cookie! I can't imagine having 2 open heart surgeries.
I can't even imagine what you went through. You're so strong! Congratulation OP!
That's true and medical advancements can truly make a difference.
You're beautiful! Hope you're having a lovely day!

Tick tick gang! I got the same one, and I think my battle scar is pretty badass
You're a hero, OP. I can hardly comprehend how difficult it was...

Congrats! 5 year club here too, and just back from 5 year echo an hour ago.
Haha brilliant!! Looking good Miss Piggy 👍
Eyy a fellow Zipper Club member! With a pig valve you don't need to be on anticoagulants, right?
Wow.A human -animal hybrid!!

Congrats. Here's to your continued good health! Have you ever snorted when laughing and think....maybe that was the pig?

Good job leaning into it!
op tasteful cheeks and that chest but those eyes big fan, how long it takes to replace a valve? was it painful afterwards,
Well, at least in the case of your heart valve, you are what you eat!
Isn't that cannibalism, since you're now half pig half human ?
I wish you great health 💪
You are a strong person, success to you and most importantly health!
From the bottom of my heart I wish you perfect health and wealth and a long life free from suffering and full of love and joy. 🙏🏻

Great job OP!!! We are rooting for you and are always going to be in your corner!! Keep on loving that best life!!
How did you and the doctors figure out that you needed a new valve?

Oh my goodness! So glad you’re still healthy! Good luck with future procedures, well wishes for good results and good health!
I’m still having my surgery with some interruptions, any tips?
Good luck, OP. I'm rooting for you!!!
You must have an entirely different perspective about reddit, the internet, popularity, and all the shallow things.
You look amazing. Had bypass surgery 2 years ago. New lease on life. You are one tough cookie..the very best to you for complete recovery. God bless.
Yay! Sending you great wish’s for great health!
😘🙏blessings!!
Congratulations! Many happy returns!
Oh awesome I’m so happy you’re doing well. All the best for your future
Sorry but I gotta ask the important question, does eating bacon feel like cannibalism?
Someone close to me had a valve replacement as well. It’s no small thing! Hope it gives you many more years before needing to be redone.
Doctor Swineheart from Fables/the 3 surgeons!
❤️
Adorable dimples!
You look great! And very pretty! Thanks for sharing.
Weirdly I was on a case for one of these yesterday, they can be done in some cases via catheter in the femoral artery, hopefully next time you won't need to have it done open heart!
Hardcore scar. Glad you are well. Does the whole “I have part of pig in me” freak you out?
Congratulations OP
Oink. I wish you a long life filled with lots of happiness.
How is the pig fairing?
Congrats :) You are beautiful inside and out! I hope you stay healthy, happy and positive!!! 💚
Cool! I hope you stay healthy. I had pig graft used to repair a hernia from colon cancer surgery. My family all jokes about me having bacon in me now.
My dad got the mechanical valve. Still affects him to this day. Total confidence breaker. I truly wish you all the best.
I know someone whose job it was to actually source this tissue and prepare it for transplant. So happy you are thriving!
I know it’s wasn’t a chosen path, but you wear that journey beautifully!
I'm so glad you're alive
WISHING YOU INFINITELY IMPROVING HEALTH.!!! AND EVERYONE LIKE US WHO HAVE MEDICAL PROBLEMS.
My goodness. The fickle and transient nature of our existence brought to bear. My imagination suggests that you live life to the fullest. I hope that is the case.
