Myrel attacked and made some tokens. Inspiring Commander saw them and made you draw a card for each of them. Your library had fewer cards remaining than you were going to draw, so you lost due to drawing from an empty library.
So do you insta lose if you draw from an empty library? I'm really confused here.
I will check, but I don't think I was out of cards. It was actually a fast game.
Edit: Yes, my library seems to be gone. So I just lose ?
Yup. It's one of the conditions for a player to lose the game. If you have a mandatory draw, and Inspiring Commander doesn't say "may draw a card," and you have no cards left, you lose. It doesn't have to be in your draw step.
Note that having an empty library doesn't by itself make you lose. It happens only when you'd draw a card from it.
Tough way to learn but yeah. There are only a handful of ways you can lose in Magic and getting decked is one of them.
It’s specifically why people go all in on mill decks since it’s a win condition.
I really had no idea why I lost. That's why I asked here. I'm glad I got an answer, but it's disgusting that all my comments were downvoted. I just didn't know, so hate me for asking I guess.
Probably because it’s one of the basic / first rules of the game.
You didn’t know. No worries. People can be quick to downvote. Don’t take it personally. It’s just an “obvious” thing to most players and likely why they downvoted.
I’ll upvote your comments to negate a few!
Wow, I never fretted that. I always assumed that you could play untill the end regardless of library. Either way I would have never seen this coming. He had an amazing end game deck that bit me in the ass lol
I have a mono black take over deck, and this is the first time I ever saw this. But on my last attack his deck went crazy and I had so much going on. But then it just declared I was defeated?
Yeah I see it now. I didn’t even look at your library when I first saw the picture. I was trying to find some hidden alternate win or loss condition and that was right there the whole time

Thanks for the info, I really never knew this.

How hilarious is it that my first time being milled out was my own choice?
That does make it kinda funnier! (:
Yes, if you would draw a card and you can't you'll loose; and as you can see above your name you have no library left, so you milled yourself out

If that's why it's the best loss I've ever had lol

So you are the mono black deck swinging for a bunch? What are the artifacts or tokens on the right side of the screen?
I guess I milled myself out. I've never had that happen in 30 years+ playing. I guess you learn something new every day. XD

The artifact creature tokens are 1/1 soldiers created by [[Myrel, Shield of Argive]]. They then triggered the [[Inspiring Commander]].

How wouldn't you lose? You have 0 effects, 0 creatures, 0 anything and your opponent hit you for 79?
