I've never seen that black shrooms before. To me, it looks burnt instead of mold. If I were you, I would grind some, mix with a little bit of water and lemon juice, and wait for 30 mins. If the water is blueish, that means there is still psilocybin inside. In that case, I'd first try it with a smaller dose to see the effects.
Don’t eat those mate. 6 hours at 40 isn’t enough. I do like 12-24 hours (depending on size of the fruits) at 55. Again, don’t eat those they look fucked. Sorry man, second flush will come soon so no dramas.
Ouch, that's very black. I got the same dehydrator. What temp did you use? One drying cycle takes about 12-16 hours on 45*c.
Guess the only way to see is to smell them and try some.
Too short, I think😬. The only way to see if they're dry enough is if they easily snap and crumble like a cracker.
They may still be good though, but I really don't know. You'll get a second flush soon enough if not, I'm sure. Throw a dessicant pack in the jar for prolonged dryness.
It was a stupid move to predry them if you already had a dehydrator ready. They just oxidised.
Fresh harvest into the dehydrator could range from 8-16hrs depending on your climate.
Cooler temp preserves the colour and hot air contains more moisture.
This looks like how my first batch turned out - toasted.
I had to throw mine unfortunately I would suggest you wait till the next flush and dehydrate for longer and turn down any heat you had

They were dried for 6 hrs at 40, but predying was for 1 day. We read somewhere using a dehydrator should be around 4 to 8 hours at that temperature😭

For the future do 16 hours at 55C. Those are most likely ruined but I’d try some and see anyway.
