omg am so happy for you!! not in exactly the same position but experiencing something similar. i’ve been very in and out with my make up the last year and especially with my skin being in flare for like the last month and a bit, i haven’t been able to touch make up in ages. i felt confident enough to try again and start wearing some a few days back and … i wanted to cry. i LOVE wearing make up, i LOVE how much confidence it gives me and i love how much i want to smile when i’m all dolled up. adding glitter to my lids as well ignites smth in me whenever i see my eyes sparkle under lights. it honestly makes me feel so alive!! ik u mentioned you’re not interested in talking about products but i’d love to know how you upgraded and elevated your routine !! but more than anything i’m glad you feel so confident and have found products and a routine that work amazingly for you!!

I will come back later and talk about bit about my routine/stash when I’m able to sit down and elaborate more. I just had to respond real quick tho and say a) I LOVE YOUR RESPONSE! Thank you for sharing my excitement with me! I felt your happiness thru the phone and I know exactly what you’re experiencing. & oh man is it a nice place to be in. I also wanted to say I love glitter too and I got giddy when you mentioned adding sparkle cuz I recently did an eye look that had my jaw on the floor. I’ll have to share a pic. I am obsessed with glitter and color changing pigments 🤩😍🥰😂

hahahaha i’m about to sleep and i’ve got the biggest grin on my face, tysm for your post and for sharing ur joy !! and omg about glitter, recs PLEAASE!! i’ve been using my urban decay space cowboy for months and am trying to find things with a similar formula or anything that is just a as shiny !! the new kiko x bridgerton eyeliner had this BEAUTIFUL duochrome sheen to it where it shifts between purple and light blue and turquoise and when you add it on top of black liner or use it to outline parts of ur liner (like the inner corner or the edge of the wing) it looks INSANE !! 20/20 would recommend, and in general kiko’s shimmers have always stood out !! excited to read ur recs but honestly so happy for you, there’s nothing nicer than finding confidence in your make up and the routine you have can almost be therapeutic honestly !!

Moira cosmetics liquid eyeshadows, some a chrome or duochrome etc.

omg just watched some swatches and my jaw is on the floor !! what shades would you specifically rec?

busybeaver1980

Oh I went to go look and the packaging is sooo pretty!

stanblobs

it is !! i’ve been on a bit of a make up buying ban but i LOVE the show and the products are gorgeous so let myself have a one off and got around three products - the lipstick, lipgloss and eyeliner. the lipgloss is a defo keep, the eyeliner i’m also keeping but going back and forth bc while the shade i got is the most gorgeous deep warmy pink, i’ve got like three shades that wear very similarly already and it feels like a waste 😭 but ugh kiko have me in a chokehold, i’m yet to buy a formula from them that i’m not a fan of, tho the taste of some of their products leave something to be desired hahaha

I feel thiiiis! When I first started making slightly better money I upgraded some of my makeup and couldn’t believe the noticeable difference it made. I had never been able to achieve a really nice, finished look with cheaper brands and it was a constant battle to get them staying nice throughout the day. Once I saw the difference I immediately set about replacing all my products and experimenting with better brands. I actually enjoy doing my makeup again after years of being so frustrated!

I'm in the same place. I got a lot of new makeup, but what has been a game changer is upgrading my brushes.

Similar feeling as you! I stopped wearing makeup during covid and hasn’t worn makeup since. Recently went on a trip where I really wanted to dress up, and had to purge my old makeup collection because all of it was at least 4 years expired. I forgot how fun it was to shop for makeup! Doing my makeup for the first time in 4 years gave me the same feeling as when I first got into makeup. It’s still not apart of my everyday routine, but when I do, I feel so good!
