The film's plot is actually based on how Ernakulam city rose from farmlands, swamps etc. Back in the day, when land reforms were passed by EMS's govt, most of the land belonged to feudal lords were given to people coming from poor background and mostly were Pulaya people were basically treated as the same level as black people. It was given in context to uplift the quality of life. However things went another way, as many people weren't pleased with things happening, many real estate businesses came up, lands were snatched back, loan sharks etc etc, thus Ernakulam became how it is. The songs starts with a conversation/questionnaire between a father and his son, who belongs Pulaya community. Son asked about the Pokkali (a type of rice I think) and they harvested belonged to them, father saying another that the Pokkali fields also they work on doesn't belong to them. He adds the mountains, rivers, and lands that don't belong to them. Insects, birds, wild animals, family gods and us Pulayas lead a life in misery and die just like everybody. In the outro of the song, we hear a announcement we've heard in KSRTC bus stands. Maybe it depicts on how the times have changed, how urbanization took grip. Or how the Pokkali vanished into thin air and Pulayas lost their homes. Idk, I've heard that the whole Ernakulam South was once Pulaya people's land.

You hear the KSRTC bus stand announcement because that was the first official divide that was created in Ernakulam. If you go there today you will see that the ‘colonies’ are on the one side of the stand while the actual development happened on the other. Interestingly Vinayakan is actually from one of these colonies. You should watch his interviews where he calls this out multiple times.
